In all seriousness I doubt Coldplay will quit anytime soon. I see them being like U2 and touring/writing songs for a while and still being very popular.

I think they'll do it as long as it makes them happy and they feel inspired. I would rather have them quit while they're ahead, then to make shit music just because...

^Agreed.

LP7 sounds about right...then after that  who knows??? I really can't see the guys ending up like U2...

everyone keeps saying they rather coldplay quit then them make shit music.. but that opinion would be soo subjective.. ppl say that now. ppl said that VLV sucks compared to parachutes. etc. etc.

there will always be ppl that like coldplay. :)

5 albums or 30 albums.

^I am one of those people. I swear, if they released an album of Chris reading the phonebook for 5 hours I would probably buy it. *chump*

:dazzled: Yeah, I'd listen to him reading the phonebook too.

:laugh1:

naah, phonebook is boring as hell, no matter who reads it our... but it would be awesome to hear chrissy read real books ._. :awesome:

I'm gonna be in a old peoples home jamming to Coldplay down the corridor :awesome:

No way will this be their last album.

Parlophone will release a "Best Of Coldplay" in a year or so, considering it's at the end of their contract. Think Radiohead.

i dunno i cant see them stopping now, i mean they are just getting better and better! but i can imagine them taking a LONG break after this

I don't see them stopping, despite what Chris said in today's Billboard article. He always says things like that, and as much as I think they're "in the now" sort of people...I think their business team (and EMI, if they renewed contract) would roll over and die if they stopped, or even took a long break.

As much as I don't like what is served to us so far of the new album, I do think these boys are highly dedicated to making music. In fact, I think that Coldplay is one of the most crazily-driven bands. I can't imagine them stopping in the near future.

LP42 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I kind of almost get the feeling that Chris is at the reins most of the time for their music, so...I feel like, if that is true, there may be some friction there eventually. :/

Out of most bands out there today, Coldplay seem to have the tightest-knit group, or one of the tightest-knit groups. Who knows what happens behind the scenes, but their relationship has always seemed shockingly democratic and healthy from what we're able to see if you ask me, so I don't think personal issues with each other would suddenly crop up to the point of breaking unless someone made a major lifestyle change or something to that extent. And as someone said before, they're all so dedicated and so passionate, I feel like they're in this for the long haul. I don't think any of them would do retirement well, and they seem to have the view that they're stronger (musically) together than they would be apart at this stage in the game, and I don't think any of them seem to want to give up music to fish or knit for the rest of their lives yet, but that's just my opinion.

LP42 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know how many lawsuits there'd be by then?!
