I don't think I could set a specific date as to when it will leak, but I don't think it will happen before October 10th.

how long was it when VLV leaked? before the actual release?

2weeks?

So, it would only be smart of them to start streaming it as soon as they know that it's about to leak.

I hope that's sometime soon...

But at the same time, I'm not really excited about the album anymore since I just saw them in Atlanta on Saturday and they've played most of the album material at the festivals.

Sure, studio versions might be cool to listen to, but in my opinion, Coldplay is one of those bands that is better live than they are on a record.

The only thing I'm looking forward to is the MX tour and hopefully an EP that has some of the songs that didn't make it on to the album.

As far as this leak is concerned, I hate to say this... but it has to happen soon, we've been waiting for this for far too long.

I'm not too fussed about a leak. If it did i'm not sure i could force myself to wait but then again if i could stop myself from listening to it then I could come on here and see what people who did listen to the leak thought of it!

It will definitely leak before official release date, but I think I'll go for having the physical copy of the album in my hands before listening to it :)

Same here. I only listened to one song from the VLV leak.

The press have heard it, and the label has it, so it could leak any time now. I hope it doesn't though. It's a story and I want to hear it in order.

I need to learn more about the timeline of physical production. Like, how long does it actually take to make a few thousand CDs in a group of factories? I wonder if they're being made now, or if we still have a week or two to wait before they spit out on conveyor belts, because that's when it's going to leak. I have a feeling they've either already started or will next week or so.

I'm certainly looking forward to a leak of this album, but I'm not totally rabid about it like some people are. I'm not sure if that has something to do about hearing so many tracks so far or not being the biggest fan of the new-model Coldplay...but Dave Holmes's method kind of backfired on me, I think :disappointed:

10th of october=D-Day.

Labels have become more sophisticated in preventing leaks the past few years. As long as the band management is careful (and I believe they are) then it won't hit the internet until the 19th when it is released in Japan.

Im guessing the 19th or the 21st( why Im stuck on the 21st Im not sure, but I am!):D

And yet really the only major album NOT to leak this year has been Watch The Throne...

I mean, obviously who knows anymore, but I think we're deluding ourselves to think that this album is going to be the exception to the rule that everything leaks.

And I don't think the management has been careful...or at least not overly careful. The world already knows what half of the songs sound like by design, they've held listening parties not only for journalists (which is to be expected, of course) but for fans as well, and have released studio clips of "Charlie Brown" and "Hurts Like Heaven" (non-singles) ahead of release for TV promos thus far. If they were truly determined to try to prevent a leak against the odds, I don't think they'd have done most of those things at all.

And The King of Limbs, though the band released that one themselves and only digitally at first. Not to mention they didn't even tell people about it until 5 days before.

Not to mention a hyped album is going to have a lot more people trying to obtain and distribute leaks than something obscure, especially with so many "insiders" listening to advance copies. Eventually one of those people or one of their "best friends" will be a loose cannon and put it out there.

True about TKOL, but...that barely counts, as you said, because that had such a unique release process.

I maintain the likelihood of them leaking it themselves on purpose is rather high, not that we'd know it if they did.

When did was a clip of hurts like heaven leaked?

A studio version clip was played before the Live on Letterman gig stream...I'm 99.9% positive it wasn't just the live version.

I am 100% positive. It sounded so different!

Yeah, I remember that too. And it was awesome how Chris' voice announced Coldplay before they started.
