I don't know if it's been mentioned but the new Blink 182 album leaked the other day 11 days before the legal release. They had massive protection over it with it being a 'comeback album' so even if Coldplay has similar protection, a leak would be completely plausible in about two weeks.

I hope so, im not sure how much longer I can hold waiting for this album to come out!

I'm deffinately going to buy the album no matter what but I want to listen to it now, I cant wait till October 24th, thats just ridiculous, a whole month and a half. If it came out september 24th I could maybe wait, maybe

It was such a crisis that the band pushed the release date up by 1 month, and luckily for Beirut, they're on an independent label and have the power to control their release date like that. Coldplay is a slave to EMI and doesn't have that kind of freedom, so they're hoping for a late leak.

 

I still insist they stop living in the 20th century and take my streaming suggestion. :P

Every time I see that this thread has moved up, I get really excited.

I think if they don't stream it, which I agree is the smart thing to do, they'll just leak it themselves :P. Not that we'll ever know the source (usually), but...I can see them figuring out how to make that work for them commercially. They seem to be able to turn everything into money these days.

i think 19 oct, 5 days before the release, as Viva... people maybe choose 10 just for the MX theory, but for a leak is wrong.. even if i hope it could be right! i need to hear that album as soon as possible.. then i'll buy a copy

I voted Oct 19 but it won't be exactly a leak ;) ...let me explain:

 

-according to wikipedia (although somethings we read there can't be assumed as 100% fact) , EMI Japan will realease the album a few days earlier...Oct 19...and I believe there is a strong possibility the album will be available for download on that date

Yeah, the album will undoubtedly be all over the internet on the 19th, but there's still a strong chance that it will leak before that, but I imagine there'll be all sorts of methods being used to prevent such a huge album getting out early. I voted for October 15th as an educated guess. Of sorts. :)
