A few of the cp'ers were posting about this the other day. If one of us worked at a music store in Japan, that would be nice...

 

Maybe they could tell us what day deliveries are expected this week. Perhaps there is a box somewhere, just sitting there in the receiving area, waiting patiently to be opened... Once removed from the box, (the cd. That is.) it could then be placed gently in their laptop for a rip and a simple upload to the internet. At which point it would get very wet in here as we are all swept up in one tidal wave of a massive leak!

Only problem is that would be traceable by the staff. They get delivery invoices telling them exactly how many copies they have, which goes into the retail point of sale system. So if someone steal one, the numbers won't add up.

 

I guess if they just denied it was them and kept quiet about it maybe the manager would think it got lost or something..

Maybe well get lucky and a Japanese music store manager is on here? :D Probably not, but we can dream :) Plus I think Coldplays a good enough reason to steal and lie :phu:

I'm just surprised so many people want it to leak so badly. I feel that leaks take the "fun" out of hearing a new album the day it comes out.

I have never enjoyed leaks. Like you said, leaks really do take the fun out of release day. I would much rather have the album in my hands than on my computer days before it is released.

Listening to Leaks isnt different from listening to the real CD.

it just feels maybe weird for a few People because it's a moral issue, it's just the point you didnt pay for the Leak that makes the Leaks "unacceptable".

I understand that because none can really proof they will buy the CD when they already got it on the PC.

Because i cant be arsed to buy the Normal and wait months for the Popup one.

It's not the same for everybody. For me there's nothing like bringing home the physical album and looking at the art/reading lyrics if they're provided along with the album. For some that makes no difference, for others it does. It's not just a 'moral issue' for everybody.

It isn't a moral decision whatsoever, nor is it "proof" that I have Mylo Xyloto. What fun is it to wait and wait for a new album for years, with the release date you have been looking forward to in your calendar for ages, yet as soon as a download link for a leak appears, all that excitement that was built up just fades away because you could not wait for release day.

 

We live in a digital age where everything we could want comes to us at the slightest whim, and there are times it is good and times it is bad; leaks being one of them.

I mean, will it really matter a year+ from now if you listened to it a few days early?
