August 24, 201114 yr My brother was browsing around YouTube, searching for Coldplay, and upon searching by time he found this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtjdEw99auI]Hurts Like Heaven[/ame] (i'm just putting the link in because I messed up the video embed first time...) After listening to it a few times, I am inclined to believe that this may be an early cut of the song. Also, with Charlie Brown leaking out, it's not too far fetched to see something like this happening. What do you think?
August 24, 201114 yr It's not the real thing. Someone just did a really good job at recreating it. The guitar has been replaced by some bobo keys sample. And if you listen VERY carefully, you'll realize that this track was recorded over a live (festival) recording of Hurts Like Heaven. But like I said, someone did a good job at this.

Yeah, I just listened to it again now, you can hear the crowd at the start. Still a brilliant job though.
August 24, 201114 yr Who ever made this nailed it for the most part. The guitar parts are the only thing that aren't perfect. All the synths and the backing vocals are perfect.
August 24, 201114 yr It was actually created by someone on the forums here. Just found it in the HLH section. http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77053&page=17
August 24, 201114 yr ^ I was gonna post that. Let's abuse this thread to show our HLH love. :wink3: Chris, if you're reading this: Put HLH On Album. Thanks.
August 24, 201114 yr It's ok but i really doubt that the real Studio version will sound anything like that.
August 24, 201114 yr I have no doubt HLH will appear on the album. I completely expect MX/HLH to be the opening track. Please.
August 24, 201114 yr And I don't think the studio version will have that much affect on his voice. They haven't gone completely corporate.
August 24, 201114 yr I think I'm hoping for the effects. The live version is amazing, and I would so not be against their inclusion in the studio version. I am so in love with the sound of the backing track during the "...how come they're out to get us?" bit. This album cannot come fast enough. And I don't think I can say that enough, either.

August 24, 201114 yr THe end of HLH (especially the live version) reminds me of the beginning of Clocks. Another reason to love HLH.

I know...I love these vocal effects, especially on the part you mentioned.

I am so in love with the sound of the backing track during the "...how come they're out to get us?" bit. I agree with everthing you said. Although I'm not a fan of the effects in Major Minus, I really love these ones. They seem to fit the song, and I hope this backing track makes it into the studio recording! The harmonies in the backing track are beautiful. I love that bit you mentioned. I also really love the "So cold, so cold" and "Yes I feel al little bit nervous . . ."
August 25, 201114 yr I'm one of those in the minority that really loves the effects in MM -- I think they certainly fit the context of the song, in that it almost sounds like Chris is singing into a megaphone or over a telephone or whatever. The live version is good and loud, and I'm glad there are things in each of the versions that I can pick out as favourites. As of yet, I am still to be disappointed with anything they've released for this new era. The backing tracks suit each song pretty wonderfully, I think.

But I think Will should sing on Major Minus too. The End

August 26, 201114 yr Still don't think HLH has effects... Maybe backing vocals or effects on the backing vocals. But I think Chris' lead vocals will be normal...
August 26, 201114 yr By effects I've always meant the backing track/vocals heard in the live versions. I fully expect Chris' voice to be normal and only be accompanied by the effects.
August 30, 201114 yr this is just a fan made garage band cover. someone else took that cover and slapped a new title onto this one for publicity or somethin'
August 30, 201114 yr Whoever edited this is fantastic. It's obviously taken from a live performance but they've absolutely pulled all the noise out of the parts and emphasised them to give us a clearer idea of how the final mix might sound without the crowd.
