TwistedPolitik
Coldplay just posted on their facebook the album tracklisting with the caption "Side A and Side B on the studio wall" This fits in with the two sided tracklisting theory people came up with yesterday. Maybe MX is a concept album and the story is in two parts?
DukeNewcomb
They did the same thing with X&Y though, I don't think it's that big a deal
Twisted__Logic
Maybe it's 2 stories... Or maybe the album looks smaller that way
The Doctor
it proofs that they don't like long albums so they try to make it shorter this way :blank:
the_escapist
I think Phil's tweets confirm the two halves theory.
Cheese Nip 2
CONCEPT ALBUM!!!
twitchy517
That could explain ETIAW being in the middle of the album. In this case, it is still a closer, but just of one part of the story. Also Major Minus seems like a really great song to begin another story, so this seems like a real possibility.

hux90
They did the same thing with X&Y though, I don't think it's that big a deal I think they're making a big deal out of it this time though... As in, the halves will have a noticeable difference and perhaps a storyline.

hpluvr218
It's probably just for the vinyl, what songs will be on the A and B sides of it.
Professor_Wolfenstein
Way for them to make more money out of people! :P not really, still is one full album together just a different way making the album by having 2 CD"s or if anything is still gonna be one CD for the US. busybeeburns
there's definately something in this - I'm guessing the purple can is a bit too watery!
Blue Nails
Two stories, sounds good to me! Edit: ^ Lol
TwistedPolitik
Maybe like red hot chili peppers Stadium Arcadium? I highly doubt it, seeing as that was a double album. 14 songs across two discs? Either Coldplay have been listening to a lot of progressive rock or it'd be two very short albums indeed. danmets21
It's probably like someone mentioned: the split up on the vinyl, but still, I was thinking about the split yesterday and if you look at the songs we know (and the ones you can somewhat guess at with the title), you can understand that there is a bit of a mood shift between the two sets. Part I appears to be joyous, upbeat. Part II, at least judging from Major Minus and Princess of China, appears to be a bit darker, sinister. But A Hopeful Transmission feels like a beacon in the darkness. I guess we'll see if I got a bingo! lol
Jedi Leo
I guess this endorses my theory that ETIAW splits the album in half. First part is positive, second part starts with the villain Major Minus

crestingwaves
Have you people never bought vinyls? This just means what will be on the first side, and then the second side of the album if you buy it on vinyl (arguably how albums are meant to be bought). ie. Side A, Side B (where do you think the term 'b-side' comes from?).
