Remix album?

Featured Replies

It's possible...

What with Swedish House Mafia's version of ETIAW, the Fedde Le Grand version of Paradise, and connections with Jay-Z, it might be interesting.

And who would we like to see remix what? For me, it would be Four Tet doing Up In Flames.

Pfft. Coldplay aren't Radiohead. I'm sure Mylo Xyloto will be good enough on it's own not to require a remixed basterdised version.

I'd like to see Jacques Greene rmx of Up In Flames. Cuz he made the best remix of this year imo. It's a Lotus Flower rmx.

It doesn't require anything, but for other artists to show their take on the Coldplay songs that we as fans like, is a good thing, regardless of the end product.

Screw remixes. I think all remixes fuck up the original song, can't think of any exception for the moment. I heard the Paradise remix by Fedde le Grand, and it has nothing to do with the original version, nor is it any good.

@isrlns: oh, machinarium! josef is so cute :dazzled:

(sorry for not participating in the remix discussion...)

Remixes are usually only better or close to the original when they are remixed by the band themselves. Like U2's Lady With The Spinning Head which they turned into a dance like remix. Or Falling Down by Oasis which was remixed by Noel and Amorphous Adrogynous.

Did Noel have a hand in that? I'm not sure he did. Though it is my favourite remix of all time. But there are plenty of good remixes, namely Skream's In For The Kill remix, Armand van Helden's Professional Widow remix and Justice's remix of Get On Your Boots by U2.

It would be good if there were other versions and not just remixes.

Jacques Greene remix of U.F.O.

No thank you.

I like remixes when I'm in a club (or in the car), but a remix album...

lol love that game!

I wouldn't buy a remix album, though I liked Swedish House Mafia ETIAW remix.

He did. Assisted the AA (who are producing his next album) with the remix. It's an incredible piece of music.

:laugh3: This, a million times over.

I would love either a Burial or Flying Lotus remix although I don't think this will ever happen.

A more realistic option I think is Jamie xx.

Don't think Jamie xx would touch them with a bargepole unfortunately. Burial and Flying Lotus are both insanely brilliant.

Yeah Burial and Flying Lotus would just be like "lolcoldplay" and not remix anything of theirs, sooooo, yeah, even though I think it'd be awesome for them to remix Coldplay, they wouldn't.

Yeah, probably not although he did do a remix of Adele so who knows?

I actually can't think of a big name electronic artist who would do a Coldplay remix.

I'd rather a live album, Coldplay needs to do some live stuff which gets recorded and made into DVDs and Blurays dam it!

Adele's on his label, that's probably why he remixed Rolling In The Deep.

Some of Depeche Mode's remixes are as good if not better than the originals.
