October 20, 201114 yr Video: Coldplay - Why We Love The Strokes' 'Is This It' Coldplay has revealed that their favourite album of the last 15 years is The Strokes 'Is This It'. Frontman Chris Martin, speaking in the exclusive interview which can be seen above, called the band's debut "perfect". Asked about his favourite album the singer said: I would say 'Is This It'. I know a lot of you guys would choose that too. It is perfect and so well put together, it's wonderful. Earlier this week, Coldplay's much talked about duet with Rihanna, 'Princess Of China', debuted online. The collaboration features on the band's fifth studio album 'Mylo Xyloto', which is due for release a week on Monday (October 24). Martin has previously said of how the duet came together: "The album is designed as a whole piece. It has boy and girl lead characters and top of our list for the girl part was Rihanna, but it took a while to pluck up the courage to ask her. We did a show in Las Vegas and I met her and said, 'Do you think there's any chance?' I was very Hugh Grant-like and spluttering about it." He continued: "She has such an amazing voice and it's so different to mine. Yet, who do they do a duet with.... F'cking Rihanna ! That's fair enough if that's your favourite, I'm well aware that it's just me that doesn't like it, sorry! :P But I'm still surprised that they went for that over Funeral, OK Computer, All That You Can't Leave Behind and Hooray for Boobies.

October 22, 201114 yr In the NME interview, the question is on the screen and it says debut I just forced myself to watch the NME clip and the question on screen is "What's the Best Album of the Past 15 Years." So albums like Kid A and OK Computer should definitely be in the conversation. And even if the question was limited to debut albums only, I'd argue Arcade Fire's Funeral or Interpol's Turn on the Bright Lights is better than Is This It.
