Coldplay Give Fans Radio-Controlled Glowbands On UK Arena Tour

Alternative rock icons Coldplay have unveiled an innovative new accessory for fans who make their way to see the band on their December UK tour – as one of their roadie’s has designed radio controlled glow bands for attendees to wear in during the gigs.

The new bands will be apparently be given to audience members for free, and glow in the dark in time to the music. The band have already tested them out at a show in Glasgow, and you can see a video of them working in spectacular fashion during a rendition of Charlie Brown.

The bands also display a URL on the back – http://www.myloxyloto.com – which, when pasted into your browser, tells you to return on Monday 4th December (we’ll disregard the fact that it is indeed Monday 5th December today), meaning a special announcement or post is likely to be made later today. For now, check the video out of Charlie Brown being performed with the bands below.

Also, if you'd like to be part of Coldplay's UK tour and to get one of their bands, check the dates and details below.

Does anybody know who makes the glowbands?

Do they say a company on them somewhere?

It looks SICK! AMAZING ! Too bad the wristbands are only in December :(

I wonder which Roadie designed the glowbands then, could it be the famous Roadie 42?

Hey guys, I was reading through some previous Roadie#42 entries... and came across this one http://www.coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=753

My own highlight though, was something that came about completely without forethought or planning. During Everything’s Not Lost, the stage was bathed in a purple-y ultra-violet look. I looked out across the crowd for the massed singalong and every hand was in the air. Each of these pairs hands carried a security wristband that had allowed people onsite. These happened to be luminous, meaning that the UV lights turned the audience into a huge purple field of waving phosphorescent limbs.

And I wasn’t even hammered…

So yeah, I think that's where the idea may have come from... or maybe the idea was already there and this was our first hint!

In this topic I read the wristbands are for people who go to the UK tour, but also December tour..

Was it glowing before you went in...? Or have you figured out which frequency it's on...? It looks so awesome :awesome:

How do you get it glowing again???:stunned:

On the December arena tour, the audience will be given radio-controlled glowbands.

They would go bancrupt if they gave them away for free on all ~150 shows to ~20.000 people.

On the VLV tour 3.000.000 people saw them live. That's a lot of glowbands.

Being a purveyor of pretty lights and things...

...someone git me one of those wristbands! I'm sure they'd give out sparries.

They're on eBay but pretty expensive.

While I understand the mindset of eBay opportunists a bit.. wow, I'm seeing an average of $20-30 for one wristband. I would expect sth like $15 a bit more reasonable right now (curse some of the lucky people that appear to have nabbed one for that price!)

Egh, if anyone feels like thinking of me for Christmas. :P

Look carefully, there are some at 3$(shipping 8$)
