Guess the Charlie Brown Single Tracklisting

Featured Replies

I believe they are preparing something BIG.

We know they love the song, I think they want it to become as big as VLV.

They're releasing it Jan 10, Paradise was released Sept 12. Why such a long wait?

They're making this high profile video... And who knows, maybe we'll get the infamous CK with it.

For some reason I feel a strong connection between CB and CK.

But no "CB EP". Either CK will be just a B-side or a part of a Prospekt's March type of EP.

Not really, because from a business perspective there needs to be some reason for people who already have it to buy the single. Hence, the thoughts that there will be a physical release or a b-side.

Yeah, you're right. Especially with a song as big as CB. They are probably having a huge drive to get it high up the charts as some late album promo. If CB has no b-side then I will strongly believe there is a good chance of an EP at some point in the first half of next year.

That. I still think Car Kids is too important on the album's concept to be just a B-side.

My point exactly. From what we've seen about it, i'm astounded it didn't make the album.

1. Charlie Brown

2. Charlie Brown (live from some place or another)

3. Charlie Brown (in some other form or another)

I really think they'll pull off just some random song we've never heard of. Also think it will be a sweet one :D

As long as we get lots of b-sides and leftovers, I dont care what they are. Although, i'm hoping for a full studio version of Don Quixote.

Put it this way, if it took the guys a long time agonising over the final tracklisting, that means there are more tracks that were fully formed, recorded and mixed which didn't make the album (than just "Moving To Mars").

In the Viva era, instead of doing b-sides, we got the "offcuts" from VLVODAHF in the guise of the Prospekt's March EP

1. LiT II

2. Postcards From Far Away

3. Glass Of Water

4. Rainy Day (is "School" basically the first couple of minutes from Death And All His Friends, plus Rainy Day?)

5. Prospekt's March/Poppyfields

6. Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground

So, assuming there is five or six completed tracks which were in the running for inclusion on Mylo Xyloto and we have only heard one of them ("Moving To Mars"), then I would like to think we are in for a treat with the single releases of "Charlie Brown" and a likely fourth single.

Quite possibly (and hopefully) "Car Kids" will be one of the tracks...

4. Rainy Day (is "School" basically the first couple of minutes from Death And All His Friends, plus Rainy Day?)

.

Yep. The piano intro to DAAHF segues into Rainy Day. :nice:

As well as actual b-sides "A Spell A Rebel Yell," "Death Will Never Conquer," & "The Goldrush."

How many B-sides can you name that were better than album tracks?

Don't get overexcited...

Pretty much any song from the EP could of replaced a few songs from the album in my mind.

On Parachutes only Brothers & Sisters

On A Rush Of Blood To The Head I'd say Animals could be on the album

On X&Y, The World Tuned Upside Down, Things I Don't Undesrtand and Gravity

On Viva La Vida maybe Glass Of Water and Rainy Day, they are not better, but on the same level

Glass of Water could have replaced Lost! on Viva, but otherwise Viva is pretty much perfect :wacky:

ARoBttH is perfect

Gravity, TIDU, and HYStW could replace a few tracks on X&Y

Help Is Round The Corner and the alternate version of Brothers & Sisters could take the place of High Speed.

Well that's all subjective. But when you look the big picture, every album is well thought through. They are not idiots.

P.S. High Speed and Lost! :stunned: Nooo. :o

I don't like the "You thought you might be a ghost / You didn't get to heaven but you made it close" part of 42 (cheesy as f*ck) and We Never Change nor Sparks.

As for X&Y, I'd remove The Hardest Part and combine Swallowed In The Sea and Twisted Logic into one song because the album's too long.

I respectfully disagree with everything :P

Except for removing The Hardest Part . . . it's one of my least favorite Coldplay songs

But...

What about Chris's? :wink3:

Great discussion. Help Is Round The Corner, Brothers And Sisters and See You Soon and No More Keeping My Feet On The Grounds could have easily been on Parachutes. Animals and Crests of Waves were good enough for AROBTTH. Sleeping Sun, How You See The World should have been on X and Y. Glass of Water, Prospekt's March Postcards From Far Away, Life in Technicolor ii, Lost? and Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground were excellent and could have made the album. Hard to say with MX but if Moving To Mars is anything to by then everything they wrote could have made it.

"It is set to be released on 10 January 2012, as the third single from Mylo Xyloto,[1] having already been released as a promotional single for airplay in Switzerland on 21 November 2011.[2] The single was Q's track of the day on 2 December 2011"

Please dont give me the 'Wikipedia isn't reliable, anyone can edit it' bullshit. I'm just making you all aware of it.

Oh, I am up for this challenge!

AROBTTH era

I Ran Away

Animals

Murder

better than

Daylight

A Whisper

In My Place

X&Y Era

Gravity

Things I Don't Understand

How You See The World No. 2

better than

Twisted Logic

X&Y

Low

Viva La Vida era

(Okay it gets a bit harder here)

Life In Technicolour II

Glass Of Water

better than

Life In Technicolour

Cemetries of London

Finally,

Mylo Xyloto era

Moving To Mars

better than

Major Minus or

Up In Flames

Basically anyone that has Car Kids I'm fine with. And it kinda has to have Charlie Brown to, that's kind of important. :)

Well, for those who are wondering how would that girl in the picture look glowing in the dark, my friend made the test.

(My friend Daniele used fluorescent paint and a Dark-Light)

And I think it will look AWESOME

I don't agree to Daylight and Cemeteries of London...

But the other ones would have been worth to be on the albums.

AND: Moving to Mars > Princess of China

Charlie Brown (Acoustic) would be epic. but we need more B-sides rather than different versions of MX songs.

so..

Car kids ?

:D
