MUM-TO-BE Gwyneth Paltrow and rocker Chris Martin have wed in secret — in a ten-minute quickie in front of a judge.

 

The couple wore simple outfits for the wedding and spent all afternoon in a secluded bungalow in the grounds of a hotel outside Santa Barbara.

 

No relatives or friends were there — and the wedding “breakfast” was lunch for two, delivered to their bungalow by room service, The Sun learned last night.

 

An insider at the hotel said the booking was a “last minute thing” but that Chris had asked for their rooms to be filled with 31-year-old actress Gwyneth’s favourite flowers.

 

A pal of Chris, 26 — lead singer of British group Coldplay — said last night: “They kept it very quiet indeed. They wanted to do it without fuss and without anyone around, and they managed it.”

 

The couple took their vows at the Santa Barbara register office on Friday — minutes after getting their marriage licence.

 

Shakespeare In love star Gwyneth later jetted with Chris to Mexico where they are staying in an exclusive complex on the beach.

 

The couple have gone to great lengths to protect their privacy and denied being engaged — despite wearing matching rings.

 

A friend said last week: “They are both thrilled at the prospect of being parents and they both believe in marriage.

 

“They know they want to be together and this is a natural step for them to take.”

 

The couple are expected to have a lavish blessing of their wedding later this week after renting five more large villas for family and friends.
