Anyone have the studio version of Knights of Cydonia yet? It's supposed to be revealed very soon if it hasn't been already.

  • I've been a Muse fan for a couple of years now. I liked a couple of their hits but then a friend invited me to come with him to a Muse concert with him in 2013. The live experience was amazing and I h

hmmmm a very good question...

I've only now, after reading your question, have given this a ponder.... my heart immediately lept towards Radiohead..... I love them both almost equally, but Thom Yorke has a certain something that Matt Bellamy sure doesn't. Not that Bellamy isn't a GOD as well.... but I guess I've been with Radiohead for much longer.... I only discovered Muse back in 2003, so I guess they're till fresh with me.... I've been with Radiohead since 2000...

ok so yeah... Radiohead. :smoking:

well o well

I also had to give it a tough ponder. I have also loved Radiohead for so long and hard, that it's heartbreaking to have to choose because Muse, in such short time... has shown brilliance ... just like... a flash!

I don't want to pick too soon, my like for Muse may just be a passing feeling... I suppose I will still have to wait for the results of both albums...

But I have to say, the new Radiohead album has my vote. They have more experience, more of something special that comes with their mysterious ways... and facinating lyrics/music/entire creations :D

I just don't know...

no comparisons, really

my main point was to point out that many coldplayers here are fans of BOTH ...

and ..well you read it..or maybe you should reread it :nice:

and it's nice to see what they think..

but damn Nik...you have turned so negative lately, it's hard to understand why you are still around, spreading negativity..if you don't care for the thread, keep away

if you ask to choose one band from two, you automatically compare them

and i'm just sharing my point as always

NOT true.. I didn't say this one is like this one because.

I only meant to bring out that there are double fans...of two very popular bands right now... and have been...

if you are just sharing your point in my thread which is sharing my point... then ohhkay...

but quit being so jerky all the time..telling me my thread dedication is shameful .

well, anyway...when i hear word "Muse" first what comes to my mind is "Radiohead copy", maybe it's just me...but there are too many similarities between Muse and OK Computer. i can hardly imagine that Muse will release something unexpected and brilliant like Kid A. all i can hear in Muse's music is "some unreleased Radiohead songs which will never make a Radiohead's album". that's why i can't see how people can prefer Muse to Radiohead.

but i don't want to bother "double fans" and blah blah blah so i'm removing my posts and blah blah blah

thanks... no need for it here...it doesn't keep well with the flow

bah! keep it if you like.... i dunnut care

anyway, i'll give a try to the new Muse album, but i don't expect much

it's been leaked by the way, if you don't have it yet i can PM you

I have watched some live performances of it and they have been kick-ass so far.

I wouldn't spend effort on anything if I didn't think it was worth it.

If you like, send it my way. I sure would not mind.

oh crystal you are so lovely :nice:  thankiiesss!

they are looking great lately, lots of style and class, you can see their development since the days of Showbiz.

coldplay used to be my favourite band but i have matured into a hardcore muse fan and i'm afraid they are by some way the best now.

that is so true nige. loving their style lately, they've developed so much. as for cp, they also used to be my favvvoouuritteee, i was the bigggesssst fan before and everything, but my muse love since the beginning of 2004 has swallowed me up whole. it's insaneeee.

My god! Dom' date=' get a hair cut!!!! [/quote']

hahaha i am loving dom's haiiiiiirrr!

They really are a bit ecdentric' date=' but great music nonetheless.[/quote']

it's their eccentricity which makes them fabulantteeee!

Muse - Black Holes and Revelations

well. let's start somewhere...

i think Muse fans will adore this album, because it's so "museish" even if it contains some surprises. but as a non-Muse fan i can admit, this album is quite weak, even if we compare it to the previous Muse albums. during listening to the album i had a feeling that i'm hearing Thom Yorke and/or Freddie Mercury. i just couldn't close my eyes and enjoy the music. to be honest in some points on this album Matt Bellamy's voice was quite annoying for me.

"A Soldier's Poem" sounds like Radiohead's "I Will". both are short and based on vocals. during listening to "Knights Of Cydonia" i had a feeling i heard it somewhere before, but this song is a good album ender. "City Of Delusion" contains a trumpet solo, a bit unexpected i'd say.

though i liked some short moments in some songs, but after some time it became more confusing and it got hard to listen to the whole song without skipping.

about artwork...i didn't like Muse's artwork in the past, either do i now. too much Photoshop, though in some points their artwork is creative.

overally it's not an awful album, either a good one. i'm sure some people will adore it and BH&R will become commercialy succesful...though i liked some songs, but for me it will stay a forgettable album, probably...and i still say this as a non-Muse fan, don't forget.

i'd say...i got what i expected, no surprises for me. i had a feeling i heard this stuff before...hmmm, i think Muse want to progress and change their music but still Muse stuck somewhere and just can't find their real sound. they still sound like a "growing up" band. the whole album sounds more like a "Radiohead unreleased b-sides album" from OK Computer and Hail To The Thief eras.

3.8/10

I am a Muse fan and I'll never say Matt's voice annoys me, of course. I also don't think that their new stuff sounds more radioheadish than their other songs. But I don't like their new songs too much.

Of course, I aprecciate it and I'm looking forward for the new album but I can't say that SBH impressed me more than Hysteria or Showbiz. I think their old stuff like Unintended or Micro Cutz is so much better...

But I love them anyway and don't compare them to anybody else. I think they've proved already that they have their own style in music.

Hmm..Good one, Crystal. I think it's Radiohead. I love Muse and I'm waiting fir their new album, of course, but I've already heard some songs from it and I'm a little bit disappointed...Maybe other songs are better...Hmm..Dunno.

And what about Radiohead-I just wanna hear their new stuff, haven't listened to them for a long time.

And, just for the record, I've never thought about Muse as about the RH copy. Two great bands, but they're different for me.

I like it.

I never really think too much about music--if I like the way it sounds, I like it...

whos review is that?!!!!!!

ah that annoys me so much to see that. radiohead fucking b sides. muse never have and never will sound anything like radiohead.

we'll see some real reviews about the album and how successful it is when it comes out.

i'm a fan of both of these bands.

but although i know radiohead are genius, to me they are not in the same league as muse. radiohead do not grab my heart and reach my feelings like muse do.

Muse are just awesome.

i have heard it !!!

unfortunately i havent got a copy of it but it was on Radio 1 and also will be put on Muse's myspace profile very soon.

if you want to hear it then you need to go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/listen

then you need to click on listen again. then scroll to the bottom to zane lowe and skip to 15 minutes in and let it play. the song comes on around the 16 minutes mark! .... its brilliant! fantastical genius! :)

It's all been leaked!

Bastards, I've not even heard the studio version of KoC or Map Of The Problematique yet.

*Is going to wait until 3rd July! (Can do it!)*

Luckily though, none of the muse forums are letting people put links up

there hasn't been a studio version of Map Of The Problematique .. and as for those links they are all live versions. so its definitely not leaked.
