  • I've been a Muse fan for a couple of years now. I liked a couple of their hits but then a friend invited me to come with him to a Muse concert with him in 2013. The live experience was amazing and I h

OK Computer? Have you ever listened to MUSE? I will admit that Transatlantic Drawl does have some elements found in MUSE's songs, but that was just over a month before Origin of Symmetry, when MUSE already had much material.

Here's some irony. I downloaded a song "Radiohead - Cuttooth" but in reality, it's actually a misnamed copy of Muse - Con-Science. How ironic?

if you want to hear same songs, primitive and depressing lyircs on every album, you buy Muse

if you want to hear new, exciting songs and brilliant lyrics you buy Radiohead

it's that fucking simple, my muse friends

Radiohead b-sides > Muse albums

list of of Radiohead songs that Muse rip off:

Trans-Atlantic Drawl, Cuttooth, Exit Music, the whole OKC actually

to be continued, just give me some time

 Here's the deal... lots of bands have borrowed from Radiohead. Why not? They're freaking Radiohead! No one's going to take that away from them.

I think they woke alot of musicians up to what was possible. But everyone puts their own twist on it. Pilate gets compared to Radiohead... so does Muse... so does Coldplay. Yet none of those bands sound the same. They take one or two tiny facets of what Radiohead has done and does thier own, NEW thing with it.

No, they're probably never going to match Radiohead, but that's no reason to go slagging them off. The world would be a poorer place without the many bands Radiohead have inspired, and I would still be stuck listening the the crap on the radio.

So what? Some of us like both :dozey:

was i, my dear?

i just wrote a fucking review and shared an honest opinion

Now, as for the album leak, I'm not sure what I think. They've traded angst for paranoia...weird lyrics, but good sounds. I need time to listen afew more times...

Not all Muse songs are depressive and not all RH songs are exciting. Nothing is simple, life's complicated. That's my opinion and nobody's allowed to judge me. Whaha.

...followed by a rabblerousing statement about greatness. :P ;)

I vote we all put our hackles down and enjoy whatever music we want to. :)

yeah, actually you're right Camu. i overreacted the situation a bit...comparing them is quite ridiculous if we'll be honest...

Radiohead all the way

 I like you.

NOOOOOO ITS BEEN LEAKED :( ...

fucking bastards you are right Jak. why would you want to leak it onto the internet? ahh its tempting me now.

Are you guys listening to the mono leak still?

There's stereo, 320 bitrate ones going around...

I think this is what Ondes wants :

Everyone buy Radiohead and Radiohead albums only... THEY are the only good shit out there. No lyrics are better, No vocals beat Thom's... Don't enjoy Muse because you say it makes your heart feel awesome. Don't ...Just get Radiohead that way no one will listen to anything else and the world's ears will know only this one group... That way everything will be redundant

IMHO some Radiohead's songs are more depressing (yes I fell asleep listening to OKC once cause it was too depressive...and it really makes me want to cut my veins...well not just me, but some of my friends too - and they like Radiohead) than Muse's (actually I don't find any of their songs depressing).

Please forgive me :P

We just have different tastes, but hey that's what the world is about.

Muse more depressing than radiohead? that's a first,i love radiohead to bits but they sure have more depressive lyrics than other bands (big ideas, exit music, motion picture soundtrackl,,killer cars, etc, etc, etc ) and i pretty much listen to those songs when i'm feeling down cos i can relate to the lyrics , on the other hand muse has some sad lyrics but with a heavy riff ( hypermusic for example) but they have different styles so comparing them seem pointless to me.. its like comparing sigur rós with metallica, its almost impossible cos they dont fit in the same genre.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but there's no need to look down on others just because they like something you dont ( at least that's what i got from some posts before) and no matter what ppl say no one will make me change of mind about muse or radiohead cos i love both bands however you're free to keep arguing about who's 'best' - no need to keep reapeating yourself over and over saying you hate this or that band, we got it the first time ppl ;)

just because you put your text in bigger size, it doesn't mean it contains useful information.

you couldn't disagree with my post actually

of course, everyone has different tastes, but saying that Radiohead are depressing is kinda immature ;)

you must find all those copies who came after RH depressing as well then, but i think you don't

are Coldplay depressing? don't think so

i just reviewed an album which i didnt like. i have a right to review anything. and it's not a Muse forum by the way, so nobody can't say i was arrogant. the hardcore Muse fans overreacted the whole situation. that's why i started to defend myself ;)

and Muse are depressing pour moi

i already shared my opinion about Muse and Radiohead relation, so i'm not going to repeat myself 92134912x times

Muse are like babies of Radiohead's work. they're trying to create something very big like OK Computer but fail every time IMO.

and everyone's entitled to have an opinion

I never knew depressing music was such a bad thing. I consider almost all Radiohead's music to be depressing and I like it that way, they are my probably my favourite band right now. I would also consider such Coldplay songs as "We Never Change", "AROBTTH" and "Spies" to be depressing, they are also 3 of my favourite Coldplay songs.

And on the subject of Muse, not my cup of tea.

hahaha

they surrrrrrrrrrrrreeeee are

oh man

i can't waittt

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I'm going to wait till July (it's July 5 in Finland for some reason), for some reason I've my heart set on bying the album and then listen it through.. it's been a long wait anyway so I can wait a couple of weeks:)

Yeah, it's July 11 in the States

Oh well, at least that means I'll be home when it comes out, unlike July 3.

Well....I read a bit in the Muse thread....and of course the fans were talking about brilliance...hehe...

therefore I've downloaded this "Maps of problems..." song...

I only listened to this song from this album so far...

and all i can say that I as a neutral person can't hear any brilliance in that!Sorry:)

Ok...I've listened to it again some minutes ago...and no no...I had to turn it off...I don't like it...for me there is nothing special about it!

Doesn't catch me at all....sorry!
