  • I've been a Muse fan for a couple of years now. I liked a couple of their hits but then a friend invited me to come with him to a Muse concert with him in 2013. The live experience was amazing and I h

well, Radiohead b-sides sound much better than any Muse song. it's my opinion, and i have a right to have one.

i did listen to the whole album, that's why i reviewed it.

and my friend, i can't believe you say Muse don't sound like Radiohead, at least you should admit that Muse ripped off some of Radiohead songs.

the whole album sounds like Queen actually

Well....I read a bit in the Muse thread....and of course the fans were talking about brilliance...hehe...

therefore I've downloaded this "Maps of problems..." song...

I only listened to this song from this album so far...

and all i can say that I as a neutral person can't hear any brilliance in that!Sorry:)

I didn't think this thread was asking to compare the two... but I can understand why Nik might have thought that to begin with... because you'd be choosing and comparing.... but you can't really 'compare' the two bands... they're so different on so many ways...

but yeah.. my vote still goes for Radiohead. :P

yes, it's been leaked yesterday night. 20 hours ago or something

well said, Julia. everyone's entitled to opine everything. i can't hear anything either, you're not alone

really!! I need to hear this... I don't know if I can wait an entire month to hear it legitimately!! lol

I kinda feel bad, all that hard work..... oh well!

My vote definitely goes to radiohead...

I have all their albums now...

I have only "Origin of symmetry" by Muse....although I like some songs I'm not bothered to buy more by them....

and I'm not really intersted in their new material....

I'm damn interested in the new Radiohead album...because Ok Computer and Kid A just ...erm...just blow me away...

yeah, actually you're right Camu. i overreacted the situation a bit...comparing them is quite ridiculous if we'll be honest...

Radiohead all the way

I just heard that song yesterday, and al though I really love Muse, I dunno, it didnt appeal to me

i'm downloading it right now can't wait to listen it:D

I've never seen any similarity between RH and MUSE. In my opinion, Radiohead is.. Hmm.. Can't find a correct word, maybe more weird.

I mean, their songs are strange somehow and they sound not so heavy for my ear like MUSE songs do.

Muse songs are more exciting, more heavy and all...Dunno, just can't compare them.

RH fans compare them to MUSE and say that RH is much better and that MUSE has their style. But Radiohead is an old band so we can compare them to Codplay, MUSE, Travis and whatever else. And that is ridicuolus.

As a fan of both Radiohead and Muse, I see no comparison besides high vocals... There are no two songs alike between the groups.

bah! Can someone tell me when it comes out?

well. let's start somewhere...

i think Muse fans will adore this album, because it's so "museish" even if it contains some surprises. but as a non-Muse fan i can admit, this album is quite weak, even if we compare it to the previous Muse albums. during listening to the album i had a feeling that i'm hearing Thom Yorke and/or Freddie Mercury. i just couldn't close my eyes and enjoy the music. to be honest in some points on this album Matt Bellamy's voice was quite annoying for me.

"A Soldier's Poem" sounds like Radiohead's "I Will". both are short and based on vocals. during listening to "Knights Of Cydonia" i had a feeling i heard it somewhere before, but this song is a good album ender. "City Of Delusion" contains a trumpet solo, a bit unexpected i'd say.

though i liked some short moments in some songs, but after some time it became more confusing and it got hard to listen to the whole song without skipping.

about artwork...i didn't like Muse's artwork in the past, either do i now. too much Photoshop, though in some points their artwork is creative.

overally it's not an awful album, either a good one. i'm sure some people will adore it and BH&R will become commercialy succesful...though i liked some songs, but for me it will stay a forgettable album, probably...and i still say this as a non-Muse fan, don't forget.

i'd say...i got what i expected, no surprises for me. i had a feeling i heard this stuff before...hmmm, i think Muse want to progress and change their music but still Muse stuck somewhere and just can't find their real sound. they still sound like a "growing up" band. the whole album sounds more like a "Radiohead unreleased b-sides album" from OK Computer and Hail To The Thief eras.

3.8/10

here we go comparing the two bands ....something you thought was shameful? :wink3: in any thread but yours, of course.

edit* i am listening to maps of the problematique... and his voice is something besides Freddy Mercury... Bellamy's voice changes in a different way (more warbley as opposed to "straight -forward .. hits actual notes" ) like Freddy.

The sound of it is NOTHING like any Radiohead... B-sides or not... And I have heard just about every b-side there is so I would have caught some similarity...

Ondes: If you can... pull up a Radiohead b-side that made you think "Muse" ...

and a Muse song that made you think: "Radiohead b-side"

then we can go by more than just the words of a biased fan

i could not compare the two in such a way! :bomb:

here we go comparing the two bands ....something you thought was shameful? :wink3: in any thread but yours' date=' of course.[/quote']

It's really a never ending cycle. If it's not with Coldplay then it's with Muse if it's not with Muse then it's with Keane and if it's not with Keane is with someone else..

here we go comparing the two bands ....something you thought was shameful? :wink3: in any thread but yours' date=' of course.[/quote']

yeah you're right comparing them in musical way is ridiculous, sorry Radiohead... i'd like to apologize in this way

Radiohead and Muse are like Al Pacino/Bob de Niro and Leo DiCaprio

and i just reviewed an album which i already deleted from my PC, so sorry kids but i won't review Muse again :worried:

i think the date is july 3rd

Until July 3rd?!:shocked2: Oh hell no.. I am not waiting another month.. I thought it was gonna come out in about a week or so..

*goes to download*

Radiohead b-sides > Muse albums
