I guess True Love Waits can pull it off. Maybe a stripped-down House of Cards but it still sounds so bleak to me.

Me too! It first starts with cheesy songs like Adele and Taylor Swift then it goes a little more depressing then songs about getting over it and moving on and then happy songs. I´m that pathetic :disappointed:

I think Lua is a sweet song (I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS ONE WITH GILLIAN OH MY GOD), it's just in a begrudged framework. I don't think it's particularly sad, they just have peripheral issues.

Coldplay have some great, sincere love songs that don't sound at all like Maroon 5 or Rihanna or Taylot Swift.

I mean, what about Green Eyes, or Til Kingdom Come for instance ? They sound sincere imo.

 

I put Sparks on there but nothing else really captures that mood to me from them. I like Coldplay, and they'll always be very important to me (aside from MX), they're just not very stripped-down or anything.
