Hi guys! Since my twitter timeline has been full of tweets about how awesome Kodaline are (yes, you know who you are! :p ), I thought I should listen to them and see if I liked them as well and I REALLY DO. For now, I've bought 2 songs I instantly liked (Perfect World, All I Want) on Itunes, and I'm constantly listening to High Hopes which is my favourite. I've also listened to other songs like Pray, Lose Your Mind and I really like their live performances of those songs.

Talking about the live performances...I'm from Luxembourg and they're coming to a festival here called Rock A Field. I would so love to see them, but the problem is that the tickets are quite expensive and I'm not that interested in the other bands that are part of the line up. So I really don't know what to do. Maybe they'll come back for their own show? I don't know? :/

^That's weird I was watching it; it's over anyway they only played High Hopes :(

Passenger is number 2? Bastille 3rd? some Macklemore and Justin Timberlake. I didn't Ireland had a good enough top 10.

They just performed on tv here ... but I missed it :disappointed:

OMG Epic!:shocked2:

It's wonderful. Wow :o

It must be weird to do something like that because most people react with strange looks and don't take time to listen to the music nowadays, you can clearly see it here.

But anyway, it's awesome :D

Hey! I finally recognized the place in Paris where the video was shot! It's right in front of the Paris Stock Exchange place (sorry if it's not the correct translation, i know it as the Bourse de Paris)

Oh, and I found this interview i think you'll find it interesting:

Interview: Kodaline

Thursday, March 21, 2013 Nottingham Post

KODALINE are a four-piece band from Dublin who are currently touring America before heading to the UK with a date in Nottingham next week.

I caught up with lead singer Steve Garrigan as they prepared for a show in Boston that night, with a date in New York the following day.

Such shows make a change from their experiences on tour in the UK earlier this year.

"We were just happy for people to turn up," he laughs.

"There was one show in Cork in Ireland where only eight people showed up and four of those were the support band!"

Kodaline needn't worry about having such a poor turn-out this time round after their single, All I Want, was played on Radio 1, as Fearne Cotton's Record of the Week.

They also made the BBC Sound Of 2013 long list, MTV's Brand New For 2013 feature, plus iTunes and Shazam tips for 2013.

They released their first EP for RCA, The High Hopes EP, last week and it is a taster for their debut album, In A Perfect World, due out on June 3.

The video for the lead track features Irish actor Liam Cunningham, currently starring in Game Of Thrones.

Steve describes their sound as "emotional indie" but as for the name...

"It's not very interesting," he admits.

"It doesn't mean anything. We wanted something without any connotations.

"We came up with other names but we just liked the sound of Kodaline."

When discussing the musical influences behind the band, he cites Bruce Springsteen and the Beatles but when asked who Kodaline would like to collaborate with, the answer is quite unexpected.

"Daft Punk," he says.

"And possibly LCD Soundsystem."

A stripped-back acoustic cover of the LCD Soundsystem song All My Friends is featured on the latest EP.

They are two rather unconventional choices for a band who sound like a mix between Dry The River and Bon Iver.

Despite earlier shows pulling only a handful of punters at times, they still know how to have a good time on stage.

"The weirdest thing that's ever happened on stage is when the crowd started singing another song," he laughs.

"We just joined in and it turned into a big party."

After the UK tour, which starts tomorrow and comes to the Rescue Rooms on Thursday, Kodaline are looking forward to a summer of key festival shows, including the Isle of Wight, Hard Rock Calling and Kendall Calling.

Says Steve: "We're playing on the Saturday but hopefully I should get to see Bruce Springsteen perform on Sunday. That would be incredible."

1. Steve is a Bruce Springsteen fan omg doesn't it remind you of a certain someone ??!! :awesome::dazzled:

2. I actually didn't know that All My Friends wasn't an original song by them

3. OMG Ellen he mentions your gig i believe dkghdsjgh

4. He wants to collaborate with Daft Punk.

They did All My Friends because their friend passed away and it was his favorite song :wacky: (he is the one saying one two three four)

Edit They're talking about it @~1:00

what is he saying?

Those lyrics sites say it is "my evil was just staring at the barrel of a gun"

and that could be, but.. I hear "naive horse just staring at the barrel of a gun"

which would be a bit weird :p
