I keep coming back to the acoustic version of Love Like This.

 

The lyrics get much more meaning in this setting.. they were already

great, but this new acoustic version gives it so much more depth & emotion!

It's such a great song, both versions are too beautiful! :dazzled: I downloaded Soundcloud on my Ipod on purpose 'cause my brother had my laptop :dozey:

 

However... I'm not sure but I believe that instead of "Away, away, away" he says: "But wait, but wait, but wait"... But I don't know, maybe I'm just hearing things :shrug: And also, I think he says "you'll be dark" in the original version too...

And I just happened to watch a fan video with lyrics and it read "hip-hop beat"... It could be, couldn't it?

Just watched Taratata and it was great! Although the interviewer, Nagui, has a gift to make British and now Irish artists uncomfortable, it's uncanny :cheesy: Also, they screwed up big time before their cover :lol: Steve couldn't get the first notes I think, and so for several minutes he tried and tried and with a little help from Mark eventually they managed to start the song :lol:

 

About Coldplay: I don't think they're big fans. I remember the night of the Brits, Ellen tweeted them asking which act they'd like to see win and they answered Muse :sad:

I also understand that they don't like mentioning Coldplay to try and contain the whole "Kodaline is the new Coldplay" thing.

I remember that tweet it was something like "easy Muse" as in you can't even compare them :sad:

I think it's pretty easy for people to compare Kodaline to (the earlier era's of) Coldplay, since their songs pretty much match on the topic of lost or impossible loves, especially All I Want. And just the overall style of songs could be seen as Coldplay-ish. But I think All I want's the song that is most similar to Coldplay.. for the other stuff I don't really hear it. They really have their own way of writing and performing their songs, which is what I love about them. Authenticity.

Authenticity and the fact that when they've started they've brought something fresh, I think that's both the main point in common and the difference with Coldplay. By that I mean that because they're honest and creative, talented musicians, they don't do something that other bands do. So, yeah I definitely understand the Coldplay reference, in their attitude and their approach to music, but in the end the result is still different.

edit: Other points in common: their lead singer is blond, they're freakin handsome, humble, the lead singer and the guitarist have a great complicity (Stark, ok. I'm making it a thing), the lead singer and speeches don't go well together...
