I find that to be the least likely prediction. That's just sacrilegious--- it goes against Coldplay's entire approach to music. They never fall back on their old tricks.

Its my least favorite coldplay album. They throwed there trademark style away and made a album pure for big commercial succes. To entertain purely the mainstream only.

I hope for a more artistic album again.

I don't think they'll do a second trilogy with Viva MX and LP6.

Hopefully the sixth album will feature less commercial tunes and more Atlas style songs

Ugh I don't wanna go into another rant because we've been through this like a million times :sick:

 

For the last time, Coldplay were signed ever since their first album by a major label, they have ALWAYS been mainstream, and they've never hidden from anyone that they wanted to sell a lot of records. Also, you can never tell the true intentions of an artist, so it's really unfair to just assume that they make a record "just for the money". The only elements that could back you up are the feelings and impressions you've personally had while listening to the songs, and these aren't actual proof.

They drastically change style with each album. Why is it that only the last one was just for the money? Do you think that's what Coldplay is about? That's bull shit.

The first 3 albums where almost equal in style.

Saying that they've always been mainstream, it's a fact, I wasn't expressing an opinion. You can't deny that they've always done "commercial" music aimed at the "mainstream". The band themselves don't deny it. And yes there was a change of style.

I disagree with you on the reason of this change and on why it'd be so obvious that they changed solely for the charts. There are tons of reasons to explain why an artist or band wants to change the direction they take with their music. But of course you're entitled to your opinions.

It just annoys me when Coldplay fans say that MX sucked because it was mainstream: if you're a Coldplay fan, I'm sorry but you like mainstream.

Yeah they always where a bit mainstream. But not in your face mainstream. They sounded unique.

With MX they where going a diffrent root.Thats all. With Black Eyed Peas happened the same.

After the success of VLVODAAHF and MX they won't go back to full acoustic but maybe they'll tone it done a bit from MX.

 

I'd like a mix of AROBTTH and VLVODAAHF, but Coldplay will never repeat themselves so we can at least expect something new :D yayayayayy

I agree. Experimental but with real instruments. Just please please something different and exciting. No more mom rock.

Adventurous could be ANYTHING. I'd go for the 'Viva' adventurous, not the 'MX' adventurous.
