Dubstep and Coldplay

I don't know man

All the dubstep Coldplay remixes I've heard so far were VERY bad

this made me remember when Muse announced the new album (The 2nd Law) with dubstep influences, lol

we, coldplayers, must be glad that they didn't do something like Unsustainable (even though llive version is pretty epic):

The bad reviews are pouring in... just do a search of ghost stories reviews. I believe that this will be Coldplay's worst reviewed album

far worse than X&Y.. which is good because after the upset of X&Y they came back with VIVA. The band might take this time to reflect on there mistakes and realize that they took the electronic sound a bit to far this time...

Unsustainable is GOLD near True Love. I'd rather have 7 Unsustainables (9 songs - AIMH and O) on Ghost Stories.

Glad to see a muser over here :D

I still haven't got the feel of AIMH, Ink is one of my favourites but it could be better as a acoustic song.

Who else thinks they should drop this overproducing stuff.....plus Jonny's guitar doesn't sound loud enough ,has little chords or is totally absent.Lemme give you an example true love you can't really tell if its a guitar riff or synth; then bam a loud guitar solo,AA the guitar is muted almost etc please someone enlighten me ,maybe i'm mistaken. The poll pretty much shows what people want from coldplay- its more songs like O;thats for sure,so please don't jump in my neck when i say that coldplay should drop these fancy producers and keep it more simple.

Personally, I think the new material generally sounds significantly less produced than the previous 2 albums

Um, actually majority are positive. There are two or three out of seven reviews that are negative, the rest are positive. I think it will be better reviewed then MX and maybe X&Y.

I'm curious to see what the overall consensus will be. I think it's widely agreed that GS is better than MX, but will it be seen as better than X&Y?

It's much more cohesive than X&Y, but X&Y have more standout tracks. For me, GS is better because I value the album more.

Agreed. I've seen more positive reviews of material from the new album than I've seen of Coldplay's work for a long time, certainly more positive of a reception than MX received.

It's worth noting that the band that made ghost stories is not the band that made X & Y. They're older and seem to have a much better notion of what type of band they want to be, they're also far more secure in their financial position which tends in most artists to lessen the pressure to produce commercial popular work.

I think they made exactly the kind of album they were looking to at this time, and if they decide to change things in the future, it won't be because of any negative reviews. (indeed the shift after X & Y probably had less to do with it's reception than with the fact that producing that album was an arduous process for the band)

I agree. A Sky Full of Stars sounds awful production wise.

I don't mind the album, yeah, its not as good as the older Coldplay, but we still have those CDs, and music. I was not a fan of Coldplay until, two years ago? I did not get to celebrate the Viva era, for I had no clue about it. My town really plays Country all day and night and I am one of the few Coldplayers in my town and school. But I was shown the album, and don't really mind it, as I stated earlier, but I hope they throw together some old fashion Coldplay style music soon.

I think really the big problem with MX is how over-produced sounding it is. The live versions of every song are infinitely better than the studio versions. When I first heard UATW live I cried then when I heard the studio version it lost all emotion.

But it has potential to beat X&Y...

I think AROBTTH and VIVA are untouchable though. I would be surprised if they created an album as big as those two again.

If ghost story and all your friends is their new heading, then it is possible. But its about decision..

These songs show they can do, but is it what they want..

I say: Coldplay you really now HAVE to. The time has come!

* although I have to say: another album as good as Rush hmm: not sure if that would ever be possible. That album is unbelievable brilliant.

I actually thought the production was quite modest. To me, ambient noise and

electric sounds =/= "over" production :)
