Ambassadors Jameela Jamil, Ade Adepitan, Hannah Cockroft, Martin Dougan, Alex Brooker

Coldplay, Tinie Tempah and James Blake have so far been confirmed as headline acts for future events.

Why Not People? will also act as a members' club, creating a social community where users can receive exclusive offers and advice.

Live events will accommodate those with both physical and sensory impairments. In connection with this, the company will work to introduce new technologies such as the SubPac, which transfers low audio frequencies onto the body, reinventing the way music is experienced.

Jamil said: "I one day decided I simply can't continue living in a world that excludes such a large part of society. Some of my best friends are those people. Their disabilities should not prohibit them from having the same social experience as those of us who do not face the same challenges.

"In this day and age, and with so many technological advances, I simply refuse to believe we can't make more effort to create a more balanced society, one that accommodates those of us who already face so many daily struggles already. I am so grateful that I am finally in a position where I can help to do something about it."

Jamil recently announced her departure from the BBC Radio 1 Official Chart Show after two years.

She also recently criticized Kim Kardashian for her nude photoshoot with Paper Magazine.

[h=1]Disability access: How user-friendly are UK's music venues?[/h] 26 January 2015 Last updated at 11:18 GMT

Going to see a favourite band is something many people look forward to, but for those in wheelchairs, access can be tricky.

BBC Breakfast contacted 10 of the largest music arenas in the UK to get a snapshot of how accessible the main venues are.

Seven responded and said that out of 91,000 seats between them, 554 were available for wheelchair users. That is fewer than 1%.

Nikki Fox reports.

Uuuh, if its true that they will kickoff their tour with it i can't wait to hear a date. Although i'm not 100% convinced this is a reliable source (where did they get their information from?).

To be honest i don't expect a tour before Nov./Dec. the earliest.

Apparently..

The Small Print:

  • Membership is only for people living with a disability
  • Membership costs £15 annually
  • All applications will be reviewed by our Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Professor Webborn, once a short access information form has been completed
  • We do ask basic medical information that we need to know to give you the best possible experience & take care of you in case anything does happen
  • Once approved, you will get access to the Members Portal – it is a constant work in progress and will continue to expand. We will always give fair warning if a page is due to change or a new section is going to be added
  • We don’t pretend to know everything about accessibility and don’t want to offend or exclude anyone. we just want to be a part of the revolution that has already started

So not open for public basically then?

This is exciting.

Yet another reason why I love the boys, because they will go out do shows like this, it is just really nice :)

And with the tour, I doubt that will be "kicking it off". It's a very happy thought though, but if it's happening soon then that means an album soon and we haven't heard anything recently about how that is going, but would be great if it's true!

^That's weird because the membership appears open on the website, i did the first few steps (they first ask for some general information, and then they ask about your condition).

The part I'm confused is they posted just about 9 hours ago. That means 2nd Feb the membership will appear on the website then?

Your condition regarding disability?

Membership is definitely open right now though, and they also posted on Facebook that membership was open today, so it must be some kind of mixup.

Yes I mean they first ask for general information, then ask what kind of disability you have and that's where I stopped the process.

Will see if anyone is interested in joining in and we can find out the dates somewhere

Hmmmm,

http://www.prweek.com/article/1341166/jameela-jamil-hires-lineup-media-launch-why-not-people

[h=1]Jameela Jamil hires Lineup Media to launch Why Not People?[/h]

[h=2]Lineup Media has been appointed by TV and radio presenter Jameela Jamil, to promote her new company Why Not People? (WNP) - a members club for people living with a disability.[/h]he agency won the work following a three-way pitch. Lineup will build a national media relations campaign focused on building memberships, announcing music events and helping educate people about disability and inclusion.

WNP will be launched on 1 July, with rapper Tinie Tempah headlining. Other global acts that have confirmed their support include Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, James Blake and Mark Ronson.

Lineup will work alongside WNP ambassadors such as basketball paralympian Ade Adepitan, TV presenter Alex Brooker, paralympian Martin Dougan and paralympian wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft. Jamil said: "I one day decided I simply can't continue living in a world that excludes such a large part of society. Some of my best friends are those people. I am so grateful that I am finally in a position where I can help to do something about it."

WNP co-founder and MD Divya Daryanani added: "On top of the great ambassadors and music artists that we’re working with, we wanted an agency that shared the same passion and understanding of what needs to be done. There is a huge audience being overlooked when it comes to live music and entertainment and it’s all about to change. Why Not People will be addressing all the current barriers that people with disabilities face while hosting music events built to enhance the experiences of members and their mates."

Lineup founder Ali Sheik said: "The support and feedback for Why Not People has been incredible. The impact that these events will have on WNP members and their friends and families will be life changing."
