  • Finally a new album from the band! Haven't heard the full album yet, just the 3 pre-released songs and they're great.

But in Berlin will be a big coldplaying meet up :D

I know... And I actually have family there to stay with them. But Im saving for a trip to London so no way Ill be able to afford Berlin.

omg ! I just saw there are still tickets available for SP in Belgium !

Hello, Teddies! :)

A little late, but I just read Gary's blog about his jaw. Poor thing, although the way he wrote it is somewhat amusing. And he's apparently been in LA for a while, which means I should totally stalk him by calling up a few hospitals and asking, "Hey, did some Lightbody fellow happen to come around recently?" Not that they'd disclose that information, of course. :P

Nathan was / is in LA too, so stalk them to death! :P

Go, Michael, gooo!

well...........Gary can't possibly that hard to miss on the streets if he's got to wear some contraption for his jaw, right? :wink3:

That would be a reason for him to hide, right? I can't imagine he'd leave the house / hotel so often then exept for his yoga lessons and all the things he needs to do.

No evenings out, too, I guess.

BUT Elena told me she read about him and Nathan attending the Editors concert in LA a few weeks ago (would have been a perfect concert for me, eh?), so there's a good chance to meet Gary somewhere in LA.

Watch out for hospitals and yoga schools (does that excist?), Michael!

Who all are going to Berlin? :cheesy:

Michael, find that man and bring him back to us! :P Of course, that begs the question as to where exactly you should take him. Perhaps here, to Texas, as I'm in between Europe and Cali! ;)

Nevermind the fact that he's 10 feet tall and lanky as hell. aww, poor Gary!

Yeah, Bianca, I'd imagine in LA there's a yoga studio on just about every corner! Michael's got his work cut out for him!

of wow you could already have a Berlin party with that bunch! :awesome: is Elena still coming to Amsterdam too?

She is. Of course she is!

Or do you seriously think she would miss on seeing the Patrol twice within ten days?

Oh, how well Bianca knows me. :shy::lol::D

Of course I wouldn't miss that chance! ;) In fact, I would've even considered to see them three times withing eleven days, but unfortunately those bloody shows were sold out waaay to fast... :dozey:

Maybe I should warn Gary about you the next time he sends me an e-mail. You might become more dangerous than this one girl ... I always forget the name we gave her.

on your way home from Tx feel free to stop in New York City or Boston! :)

I was wondering about that jaw contraption too - must be pretty uncomfortable poor guy

All this talk of the Berlin party is making me VERY jealous - maybe a photo series will follow? hahah PS Elena twice in 10 days is amazing! :) In September I did it 2x in 3 days (if opening for U2 counts!) :)

Hope everyone is having a great week - especially everyone who is on spring break like me :)

2010 March 12th

Gary is singing

YAY!

though in first chorus sounds like he had a cold or sth.

I imagine it's a bit painful to sing with dislocated jaw. though he has been doing that for 8 years. but he didn't know that. it might be just a psychological thing.

anyway, nice to hear them again :)

EDIT: I just read that it might be a recording from last year. i hope it's not >.<

He does sound a bit weird. But still great...

ooooh it has been so quiet in here! everyone must be busy concert going? - i guess no news is good news, but just to entertain myself here is a "would you rather"

So, hypothetically: Coldplay & Snow Patrol are playing on the same night at the same time 3,000 miles apart and you have tickets and transportation to both but have to choose just one to attend. Just to make it more interesting, U2 is playing with Snow Patrol, and Radiohead or the Killers (or your other fav band) is playing with Coldplay... WHAT DO YOU DO?

busy with an assignment...but just started on my easter break. yayz!

i'd pick the one that U2 is playing with Snow Patrol. my 2 fave Irish bands...no fight. :wacky: (sorry, Coldplay... :P)

anyway, since you coincidentally brought up U2 & Snow Patrol in the same scenario/sentence, here's a Snow Patrol Remix of a U2 song that i'm currently hooked on.

uhm...i like them too....

excellent! It's always nice to meet others with good taste! :nice:

Ummm... I notice you didn't say what YOU would do, Mer. :P

Ok, I love them both, but I'd have to give the edge to.. Coldplay. I think. Reasons to see Coldplay: 1. they are my favorite band 2. I KNOW their music like the back of my hand, 3. Chris :wacky: (and the others of course, too :P)

BUT- I have seen them live 5 times.

Reasons to see SP: 1. I love their live performances 2. Gary :wacky: (and the other boys too, of course :P), 3. I've only seen them headline one time

BUT- I don't know their music as well as I do Coldplay's

does that equal Coldplay? I'm not really taking U2 into acct, because I've been there, done that twice, and don't feel a tremendous need to do it again! (but don't hurt me, Kimmi... I do love U2!)

Edit: @Kimmi- thanks for the link... is this one of the remixes they did for late night tales? (is that what it's called?) It's pretty good! That's not one of my favorite U2 songs, but the remix isn't bad!

3. Chris :wacky: (and the others of course, too :P)

2. Gary :wacky: (and the other boys too, of course :P)

*lol* Jen! too adorable! :laugh3:

don't worry, i won't. i should've added that another reason to go with the U2 + SP combo is that i still haven't seen U2 live (it's on my bucket list tho). & i've only seen SP live once on the Reworked Tour so i'd like to see a "regular" SP gig. Coldplay i've seen twice.

yup, you've got the album name right. but this one's not from Late Night Tales. ;)

it's an "exclusive" bonus d/l for U2's upcoming remixes compilation, Artificial Horizon. pity there's no further info provided about this particular remix tho. i'm quite curious to know which of the Snow Patrol guys did the mixing...my guess is it's the mixmaster, Tom, or both Tom & Gary.

I'm gonna go for Coldplay and The Killers. because two in one is better than one...

but that would be a difficult choice cause I want to see sp so bad. even thinking about making this choice made me sad

;D

How can you make us pick one band only?! :bigcry:

I'd say ... Editors concert with Gary and Nathan in the audience (of course not far away from me, otherwise this wish wouldn't make too much sense, would it?) :D :nice: It's not like that never happened before ...

Coldplay are amazing live and so are Snow Patrol, but Coldplay are so untouchable (literally). Snow Patrol connect way more with the crowd - not only because of Gary's talent in talking and entertaining. Plus they don't play the huge stadiums.

Anyways, I could write you a whole essay of pro and contra arguments for either band; I'll just hope that I won't have to ever decide between Coldplay and Snow Patrol. :smug:

Bianca- this is exactly what I was thinking, too. Though I've been lucky enough to be front row center for both bands, the SP concert was a much more intimate experience- smaller venue and Gary was literally RIGHT THERE. I could see the expressions on all the guys' faces, even Jonny's. When I saw Coldplay from 1st row, I could see Chris really well, obviously, but the stage was huge and I had to really work to see Guy and Will.

Still, I don't think I could ever pass up a chance to see Coldplay. Now throw in guaranteed front row to SP, along with meet and greet passes, and I'll change my mind! :sneaky:

HAHAH that was a great answer, Jen! It's so tough, luckily I doubt this scenario would ever actually happen :), but ultimately I would have to choose Coldplay I think. Which actually makes me kind of sad too (because SP is amazing and so fun!! hahah

My thinking is that SP is just so more accessible, they play smaller places, and you're right you can get so up close and personal. Even in the big stadiums Gary's charisma is unmatched (even by Bono) he makes it so fun. I know all their songs too, but I guess it just comes down to Coldplay's shows being such a big production (which can be so much fun sometimes) Plus they have been a LOOONG time favorite and I didn't even hear about SP until Run in 2005ish! I guess I would choose Coldplay with the Killers!
