TickingClock
Elena-Update II: She got to Amsterdam safely (thank God, I had a nightmare of a time here waiting for a message :uhoh:) and checked out the venue already. No one is queueing yet, what I suposed, because today's a proper working day in the Netherlands and I guess many people going to the concert are still at work. And hopefully will be until around six pm. :D Elena spotted a pub opposite the venue where they also serve Guinness. I should probably rename that 'section' and rather call it 'Amsterdam-Update', eh? TickingClock
Sorry for the double post again, but Gary and Nathan are on Dutch radio tomorrow. Source: http://www.q-music.nl/page/blog/6379 You can send in questions for Gary and Nathan, if you want to. I hope someone's asking for further information on the next record and / or the Tired Pony album. We had our statement from Jonny and Tom, it was pretty detailed, so I guess Nathan will say, what he always says '*smile* We'll see.' and Gary probably won't say much more. You can listen live, too. The show starts at 4 pm. As an excuse for my double post, here's a recording of Shut Your Eyes from yesterday in Paris. The third best live version of that song I've ever heard. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUUnHsIUVWg]YouTube- Snow Patrol -Shut Your Eyes @Olympia-Paris 30/05/2010[/ame] 'Anyway, I promise I won't take my shirt off this time.' :laugh4:

TickingClock
Thank you so much for that interview, muzika! Why does that interviewer start off with such a paragraph? :bigcry: I don't know how save this link is and what quality the recordings are, but here's Snow Patrol's set from Rock In Rio 2010 Elena-Update III: There are already some people waiting (since 2 pm!) and it doesn't seem to be quite clear which entrance is the right to queue in front of. I hope she'll make a good place in the end. :\ Edit People, I start to get seriously mad. :dozey: You can tell, Elena's missing to absorb all my Snow Patrol - output. Found some good, but small photos from last night's concert in Paris More photos here: http://www.soundofviolence.net/multimedia/photos/116/6944/snow_patrol_paris_olympia_30_mai_2010.html And there's a preview / interview about the Bellahouston Park concert Listen here (it's ~ 20 minutes, to take some time ;))
TickingClock
Me again. Elena-Update IV: She made it to the front row! Foals are supposed to take the stage in the next couple of minutes, then Snow Patrol. :nice:
a-chan
As promised, a quick review for the paris gig @L'Olympia ^^ It was incredible!! I love that venue cause it's not too small and not too big, and the band just owned it last night! Gary won the crowd the minute he opened his mouth to sing/smile or joke and we responded like mad XD!! On Hand open, he came to sing in the public and a woman threw herself at this neck to hug him...XD He was laughing hard and pat her back before countinuing his way through the alley. Another cool moment was on 'Shut your eyes' where we anticipated the 'shut your eyes' repetition so Gary couldn't sing cause we were doing it for him! He asked us to stop lauging hard and he directed our 'choir' to sing it properly lol My friend filmed this (link below) Anyway, it was awesome!! It went too fast but I had a pure blast! Gary is the sweetest man on earth, always smiling and you can feel how kind he is on stage and how he enjoys to be there with you. A great frontman <3 I missed him at the end of the gig but Virginie (arwen88) saw him ^^ I was seated a few seats away on the same row...total accident but it was cool! Coldplay karma striked again XD So now pics! My all album is here http://www.monalbum.fr/Album=644OLAYX but here's a few selection Gary 'light body'..hahaa  A million Gary's faces... As for the vid, the sound is kinda crap but the image is quite good: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_q0yxQKZqc]YouTube- Snow Patrol - Hands open @ L'Olympia30/05/2010[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdU3OXbm_LI]YouTube- Snow Patrol - If there's a rocket tie me to it @L'Olympia 30/05/210[/ame] My others vids ther are on my YT account here: http://www.youtube.com/user/lilou8269#g/u Here the account of my friend, she put others songs: http://www.youtube.com/user/Carlaline#g/u But here her vid of 'Shut your eyes' [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUUnHsIUVWg]YouTube- Snow Patrol -Shut Your Eyes @Olympia-Paris 30/05/2010[/ame] :D

arwen88
Thanks for your review Aurélie, and your pics, they're great!! As you said, the gig was just fucking AMAZING!! The audience was shouting like crazy and the guys were obviously enjoying themselves a lot! Gary played the perfect showman, he was talkative and joked a lot with the crowd, making us sing, wave and applaud throughout the entire show. We did have one banner in the pit, it was a girl who came all the way from Montreal, Gary asked her if she came only to see them, and when she answered yes, he told her she was crazy :p As Aurélie said, it was great to see them in that venue 'cause it's not too big, and it has a kind of intimate atmosphere! I really can't wait for them to come back after their next album (which may come out pretty soon, as Gary told us at one point in the show) I was indeed only a few seats away from Aurélie, and just before SP's turn, the drummer of Foals came in the audience to see the gig and took the seat just in front of Aurélie ;) Thanks for your review! :nice: I love that photo! You're right, this pic is just priceless! <3 I had troubles with my camera last night so I didn't take pictures during the show, here's the front of the venue by night though: Now, as for the after-gig part,I decided to go to the back entrance to give it a try and see if the guys would come out. I didn't have much hope, I was sure to miss them as I guessed that they wouldn't come for at least an hour. But to my surprise, Gary, Jonny and Tom came out about 20 mins after the gig! There were about 30 people, maybe more (or maybe less, to be honest I don't quite remember..) and Gary was surrounded by everyone right away, so I only have one good pic of him signing They all came out eventually except for Nathan. Gary was the kindest guy ever! He was very patient, make sure everyone had a signature and a picture! Or more for some of them: the girl from Montreal managed to have two hugs from him :p I had to pose twice with Gary as my first try ended up all blurry, and he was adorable each time! I know that I talked to him (about the show) but I just can't remember what I said exactly... The guys stayed out about half an hour before coming in again (I don't know if Nathan came out later, I had to left then) I really had a BLAST last night! And it was also nice to finaly see Aurélie in person ;)

TickingClock
Yeah!! And we're good pupils! :smug: The crowd in Paris last night was probably one of the best they ever played to. I mean, from my point of view I can't really judge that, but the crowed seems to have responded so well! The guys stayed out about half an hour before coming in again (I don't know if Nathan came out later, I had to left then)They somehow manage to keep one under the covers at every gig. The 'disappeared one' changes every time though and Gary obviously always comes out, but for the others ... Did you see Pablo? Great to hear that the two of you had an amazing time! :cheesy: Elena-Update V: The first show in Amsterdam is over for almost an hour by now. Elena tries to meet the boys but she told me that it's not so easy to find the right back entrance and that she doubts the boys are still there. Her guess is that they headed back to Amsterdam - down town by taxi already. :\ A pity that they don't come by bus anymore. It was so much easier to meet them then! Glad to hear you think the crowd was great, 'cause my opinion is biased since I was a part of it! :p But it's true, the atmosphere was great, many people at the balcony and back up in the last rows were standing for a good part of the show (the second one)! ^^ I did see Pablo, he came out when Paul when back in! The 'disappeared one', what a mystery :wink3:

The 'disappeared one', what a mystery :wink3: Isn't Pablo Paul? Snow Patrol's full of mysteries. The 'disappeared one' is just one of many. Elena-Update VI: She was right, the boys went off straight away and didn't meet the fans tonight. She probably tries to meet them tomorrow. PolarMonkey
oh dear...that was a very brilliantly touching interview indeed... :bigcry: ...it hit a bit too close to home for me, actually. funnily enough. aaaaanyway, love that website with the Paris gig photos. "Sound of Violence"...hahaha...what a name! & the photo preview vignette thing is too cool...shall need to investigate how it's done. :sneaky: + loving the reviews & fantastic vids from Paris, girls! great to see that you both had a great time at the gig! :D

I mean, from my point of view I can't really judge that, but the crowed seems to have responded so well! I've never been disapointed by the audience on gig with "international artists" in here. Artists kinda always make one date in Paris, so the crowd is from everywhere in the country and we're so happy for someone to come that we're always enthousiast :D And we like make noise before the gig too. I'm always suprised at gigs in UK, the crowd is so quiet before and people on the pit just stands quietly... :inquisitive: I guess that our latin heritage just rush back when we're in concerts  Anyway, the guys seemed to have a great time just like us!! Can't wait to see them again!!!

TickingClock
People, I'm seriously mad at you for stealing my part about updating you with Amsterdam-stuff! You know, I'm not. There are some pretty amazing photos on flickr: See and be amazed! Some others from flickr from the first Amsterdam gig: The shots of Pablo are brilliant! :surprised: From Getty Images Fabolous how he is almost in the same pose and with the same face TWICE in one set! :laugh4: Let me guess: Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhut Your Eyes? Elena's a fan of that red shirt, I'm not so much. Is it only me or does Laura Jansen (the Dutch singer who sang Set Fire To The Third Bar with Gary yesterday) look a lot like Marit Larsen? :worried: (I don't like Ms Larsen ... :dozey:)
TickingClock
Unfortunately you don't see Gary in the Shut Your Eyes - Video muzika posted, here you can. Love his dance moves! :smug2: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQrNKNic-g4]YouTube- Snow Patrol - Shut Your Eyes live @ HMH Amsterdam[/ame] And I burst out laughing about the guy at around 4:28, when Gary dances. He screamed so joyous as this was the thing he came to see. :laugh4: You know I love Gary, but in that video he scares me ... :worried2: It's not directly him, more the way he turned out in this particular video. No face, this ghostly hand ... I should get some food and prepare for Gary's and Nathan's interview at 4 pm. Did anyone send in any questions? In case anyone wants to join me listening, here's the link again: http://www.q-music.nl/page/blog/6379
