I've not had any probs with gifs on photobucket so :\ You could always try a site like ImageShack - a free image hoster - http://imageshack.us/ - that allows gifs/jpgs/png etc and is really easy to use. I used it all the time before I got my pb account

In photobucket where you click Choose Files (tick the btton for from computer) it brings up a dialog box, and it should let you choose from your directory and image/video files, .jpg, .gif etc so check you have a filetype compatible with the ones allowed. The other thing is - how big is the file you want to upload, in kb, mb..? If it's a large filesize then it will take longer to upload, and a site like imageshack may not let you upload at all.
