  1. X&Y has a double meaning: the first one is that X stands for female and Y for male genetically speaking, the second one is that stands for the unknown and you can interpretate Y as a question (why?), that reveals the uncertainty and the existentialism of the whole album. The song is more related to the first, but in a way also to the second.
  2. Ziggy Marley - True To Myself
  3. IMO they are even better than Thom&co
  4. I grew up with his music. One of the best composers/artists/songwriters/guitarists ever. I love his versality, his love for traditional music and the way he combines it with prog rock, new wave, ambient and new age. My favourite albums are Platinum, Discovery and Voyager, but he did also masterpieces like Tubular Bells, Amarok and Ommadawn or great albums like QE2, Crises and Light&Shade. Even his pop catalogue is quite good, and I don't talk about Moonlight Shadow (that I think is quite overrated, maybe because they always play only this song on the radio), but about Foreign Affair, Family Man, Nothing But/Bridge To Paradise, Man In The Rain and so on...
  5. Probably the best band on this planet at the moment
  6. Our Lady Peace - Angels/Losing/Sleep
  7. You are correct, it's x&y ;)

  9. Good question. The answer is always the same: this is not Coldplay, or at least, the Coldplay we all loved. But the songs you cited are the ones who influenced most this kind of groups, especially VLV and Paradise
  10. The Beatles - Lady Madonna
  11. Imagine Dragons are in that mainstream pop current that typifies also Bastille, Kodaline, Amber Run and other similar bands. CP influence on this kind of groups is quite obvious, they try to emulate their melodic formula and pack it in an electro-mainstream-rock texture, in order to have a catchier and "younger" sound. It wasn't my intention to write against you, my "you" was impersonal, a general thought. Sorry, I haven't specified :)
  12. I almost hate this album, what a let down... Except for Moving To Mars, Major Minus and Up With The Birds you can eliminate what you want. p.s. I noticed you put Christmas Lights, why don't you add Wedding Bells also? :) ah, I vote for Princess Of China obviously
  13. ok, let me think for a while... Here's the hint (it's very easy):
  14. I'm not saying it because we are on CPing, but, seriously, how can you even compaire Imagine Dragons to Coldplay? They're on different levels without any doubts. Imagine Dragons' first album "Night Visions" is quite good I'd say, with some catchy songs like "Hear Me", "On Top Of The World", "It's Time" and so on, with the only highlight being "Amsterdam" IMO. Their second album is a true mess, completely out of place, there isn't a good song and it's clearly a let down in respect of "Night Visions" and ilistening to it make me even feel quite nervous. Sorry to be so rude, but I prefer being clear. Coldplay's music quality decreased a lot during the last years (it's fair to say for me), but it remains over IG's one.
  15. [video=youtube;UfI-EuMkMRI] Vangelis - The Long March
  16. Chris, when you decide to make great music again instead of songs for teenagers, you will be able to win awards instead of giving them to others who are really making it right now. Congrats to Noel, well deserved
  17. actually we're teasing ourselves lol
