Keep Shelly In Athens
I searched for an already existing topic about them, but I didn't found it. They are a greek chillwave/dreampop/synthpop duo. Their discography essentially consists of: Two EPs: "In Love With Dusk" (2010) and "Our Own Dream" (2011). They've been released as one whole LP called "In Love With Dusk/Our Own Dream" in 2012 with a bonus track called "Hauntin' Me" Their "debut" album called "At Home", released in 2013 At the beginning of 2014 former lead singer Sarah P. announced her departure from the band. She's been replaced by Myrtha. The other member of the band is the producer RΠЯ. I discovered them some months ago and I really love their style because of its nostalgic, dreamy but fresh feel, combined quite often with a upbeat and original sound and production. I'll post you 3 songs among my favourites of them, but fell free to be curious and discovery other hidden gems :) RECOLLECTION [from "At Home" (2013)] (my favourite, IMO the best song of the last 5 years): [video=youtube;dLdhQXqCg2A] DON'T BE AFRAID [from "In Love With Dusk" (2010)]: [video=youtube;7oIpc7n5xwQ] ROOM 14 (I'M FINE) [from "At Home" (2013)] [video=youtube;lA0octJ6Q80] p.s. Their second album "Now I'm Ready" is set to release next September, can't wait :D Two singles from this LPs have already been shared: "Fractals" and "Benighted" Any other fan around?

If Miracles was a sign of things to come from LP7....
Songs they should take inspiration from (only second part of their career): Major Minus Up With The Birds Moving To Mars Atlas Midnight All Your Friends Ghost Story O (Part2/Reprise) Ok songs (that could've been improved): Hurts Like Heaven Always In My Head Oceans Another's Arms O They can forget the rest (obviously this is only my humble opinion)

If Miracles was a sign of things to come from LP7....
I am one of those fans who are worried about the direction CP have taken since the release of MX. I think that Atlas is one of the few songs of the second part of their career that can be good enough to be considered like the ones in the first part. On the other hand, Miracles is just too simple and ripetitive, with a not-so-original production and structure. If it represent LP7 I would be quite disappointed

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I only hope they won't do Speed Of Sound 2.0, perfection mustn't be reworked

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
Speed Of Sound, forever and ever

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
It's better waiting for six months and having a great single than having a bad single immediately. IMO it's not a good new

Now Idolator defends X&Y! Is it finally "cool" to like Coldplay?
Absolutely true. Last years' pop rock has been greatly influenced by Coldplay's work in their first 3 albums, especially X&Y. I always consider them as a trilogy, with "Parachutes" representing the recent past of that time (second part of the 90's), "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" being the perfect snapshot of that present time (first years of the 00s) and "X&Y" a sort of prophecy of the near future. "X&Y" also has a very personal mood, that anticipates the feelings of the modern men (uncertainty for the future, unaffection, ecc) and incorporates them in a sonically perfect landscape that remains original despite all his influences are emphasized. It's for these reasons that I consider it my favourite album of them and I think it's the only seminal album they made in their whole career. I disagree with the article when it says that it's not a masterpiece, IMO it's on the same level of his predecessors, its only flaw it's the fact it wasn't musically trendy in 2005 alt rock and pop culture. It's the album where the critical compromise is more evident: they couldn't be marked as alt rock neither pop, so they were considered too bland or too elaborate at the time (and still today). If there's an adjective that represents Coldplay's first part of their career (especially X&Y) it could be only one: misunderstood. p.s. I think that there are only two songs that are not so great but still good: 1) A Message: I just think it doesn't fit with the rest of the album and its lyrics are not so original 2) Fix You: I know my opinion is very unpopular, but I think it would have been the most boring song of them without that amazing outro. That's why I hate when the band play live only "Fix You" from X&Y. Now you can kill me if you want :laugh3:

Noel Gallagher
"The Girl With X-Ray Eyes" is quite good IMO, the ones I don't like are "The Mexican" and "You Know We Can't Go Back". All the other songs are nearly masterpieces, especially "The Right Stuff" and "The Dying Of The Light"

The Kodaline Thread
I really liked "In A Perfect World" two years ago, I also saw them live in Milan last year. It's clear Coldplay has been a great influence on them, you can find similarities in almost every song they did. With their new album "Coming Up For Air" I was excepting for something more pretentious by them, but I think they remained in their comfort zone, trying to emulate the success of the debut album but they failed IMHO. "Coming Up For Air" is good album, but it's not at the same level of "In A Perfect World", being too long and full of filler songs. My favourite songs: 1) Unclear 2) Caught In The Middle 3) Autopilot

What do you think LP7 will be about?
I'd like it to be a very inspirated work, with meaningful lyrics and experimental sounds. I think it will be extremely pop, with poor lyrics and full of "ooooh" everywhere
