Ok guys, an advice for Johnny as you are mixing the album. DELAY AND REVERB ON GUITARS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

Fan song theory time!
I definitely think there's a concept beneath the songs of VLVODAAHF, too many references, too many allegoric things, even the metrics of the album are meant to be various and numbers always mean something. If I had the time I'd study it to give a good interpretation like the one mentioned in that thread. Talking of GS instead, my interpretation is slightly different from diogo_sg's one ALWAYS IN MY HEAD: I imagine it to be a love declaration made by him for her. His body can't resist to her's, he just can't live without her and he tells her. MAGIC: This is the song that let the man explain to people and to his love about all the bad moments they lived together that they managed to get through. The last verse explain it very well INK: Between this and Magic there's the breakup. Here's where he remembers their first moments. They were young and they did things like tattoos and writing on walls or woodcuts. These are tough moments because he still feels for her. TRUE LOVE: This is simply him begging her on his knees in a desperate attempt to have her back, but it doesn't work. The final solo is he crying while she runs away from him. MIDNIGHT: Darkness time for his mind. I see him watching the storm outside at night behind the glass of the window of his apartment on the top floor of a building. It's like a prayer to God or to his fate: "this is the worst I ever felt... please, I believe there's still hope for me to be happy in my life without her. Make sure this will happen as soon as possible" ANOTHER'S ARMS: It's still night, he can't sleep. Suddenly, a terrible thought comes in: "Maybe she left me because she has another guy". The sensation to have body contact with her pervades him as he softly falls asleep. Then he abruptly wakes up and realises he's alone. OCEANS: The following days he tries to call her. He wants to meet her again to tell her he changed for good. But as he doesn't receive any reply, the sense of loneliness become so big. A SKY FULL OF STARS: His friends take him to the disco and try to make him feel better and have fun. The place is very crowded (there's Avicii playing :D ) and the gloaming wristbands of the people seem like the stars of the night sky. He still thinks of her so much that he believes he saw her among the people. No, wait, she's truly there! And she's beautiful, dancing alone and free with a big smile on her face. He goes where she stands as the music ends to talk. O (FLY ON): As they get out of that place, he peacefully leave her free, wishing her to be happy for life. Then he gets back home, less nervous and sad than before thinking "Goodbye, one day we will be back together, flying like those birds in the sky, among angels. I'll never forget you" (He will never let go the memory of them together away) ------ ALL YOUR FRIENDS is a homage to people who died in WW1, it doesn't fit with the concept. Same thing for O (PART 2/REPRISE) that is only an instrumental. GHOST STORY could have been on the album after Another's Arms, with him blaming himself for wasting time still loving a person who doesn't love him.

Worst Coldplay Songs Ever!
I know I have some "strange" opinions about some of their songs, I'm ok with that don't worry ;)

Worst Coldplay Songs Ever!
From the first time I heard it (that was when it leaked with other three songs before the release of the album still known as LP4) it was the only track I didn't like. It just doesn't fit with the rest of the album, too bombastic, too pompous, quite unoriginal and average, it was the first song where they took a wrong direction that led to MX, trying to have a bigger sound rather than focusing on perfectionism of the rest of their catalogue. Still has great lyrics, but it's the only good thing it has. Being similar but waaaay different in terms of quality, Rainy Day would have been better, more balanced and inspired. Even Glass Of Water could be a great pick to replace Viva La Vida. The best choice IMO should have been Lukas being a duet, it could have been an even bigger hit tha VLV without making them taking the wrong direction musically speaking on the forthcoming albums

Worst Coldplay Songs Ever!
Absolutely yes, it's the worst song of the album by a mile....

Worst Coldplay Songs Ever!
VLVODAAHF could be their best album only if they put Lukas instead of Viva La Vida... They lost the occasion to make a duet with Natalie Imbruglia on that one instead of doing Princess Of China with Rihanna.

Pink Floyd
I understand what you're saying, it's a generally shared opinion among PF fans, but I don't agree with it. The Endless River IMO is a good album because it has an ambient feeling that is new for them, even if it comes from unreleased music from The Division Bell era. The only objection might be that Richard Wright wasn't really part of the project (obviously) but only with recordings of 20 years before and Roger Waters too but for other reasons, and with 2 members out of 4 being off the project it's very hard to call it a PF record. Despite all, there is some very good music in it, for example the guitar solo in "It's What We Do" and all the section that goes from "The Lost Art Of Conversation" to "Allons-y (2)", with "Louder Than Words" being a very good single to close everything.

7/10 catchy but quite repetitive, vocals doesn't impress me too much. But it's quite good [video=youtube;FC4NLUfQs-g]

white shadows acoustic cover/remix/rearranged.
It also reminds me of You're Not Alone - Mads Langer great cover :)

Pink Floyd
The Endless River artwork has been made by another artist, so that's why I think it doesn't fit with their style, but it's not that bad even if the others are better

[X10Y] - Share your personal X&Y story !
I know I'm late, but I'd like to share my X&Y story, as it is the beginning of my life as a coldplayer. It was the spring of 2005. I was only a 13 years old boy that has always been keen on music, not only pop but also classics from the 90s and the 80s. I already knew Coldplay at that time by having on two italian well-known compilations "Don't Panic" in 2001 and "The Scientist" in 2003, and also I had already seen "Bigger Stronger" video somewhere back in 1999. During the week of the release of "Speed Of Sound" I heard it for the first time... from that moment it will start a big love with that song that it's not intended to end. I listened to that song at least 20 times a day, an so my parents decided to give me the whole album as a present. I still remember the first time I put it on in the car. SQUARE ONE everybody! One of the best openers ever. Then it follows up all the first side, there wasn't a song I disliked. Then again Speed Of Sound, shivers everywhere all the * times. During that week, I watched a TV special about the history of Coldplay from the foundation to the releasing of X&Y, and I discovered that a lot of the songs of my childhood were CP songs ("Shiver", "Trouble", "In My Place", "Clocks"). That was when I started to be a fan of them. After that, a month later I found A Rush Of Blood To The Head in a shopping centre and I bought it: it was the first album I ever bought. Then I looked for Parachutes and all the b-sides on the net. Now I have all of their LPs except for Ghost Stories, I'm still searching for the deluxe edition. ...and here I am in 2015, 10 years later, still not realising that all these years have passed so quickly. I'll never forget that period beween 2004 and 2006 because almost all of the pop and rock music released was great and I still listen to it today, and I can say that I miss the quality level of pop music of that time nowadays, even if I discover great actual music everyday: the big difference is that the radio stations don't pass that music anymore. My only regret is that was too young to attend a concert of their tour in 2006, that I think was the best era to see them live. I could make that wish come true only in 2012, when they came in Turin, Italy on their MXTour. I'm not the kind of people who cries at the concerts, but I have to admit that there was a tear in my eye when they played "Speed Of Sound" that night, it was like the end of a journey started 7 years before, like my fate finally fulfilling. I just can't put into words what that night and that songs represents for me, but even if in these last years they did something wrong I still follow them because I'll always be thankful for what they gave me. That's all.
