CCC [Project]: The $1.36 Campaign - Over $1300 USD raised!!
I'm free on Sunday too, as far as I know. Tomorrow I've got SATs all morning and then my friend's having a party. I probably won't be around that much, and if anything really late (maybe 10pm my time?) Sunday we can work on setting up Save the Children, maybe start working on the store and get things all caught up nice nice. :nice: heh PM me as to what you guys think ;) Anyways, thanks SOOOO much everyone. I can't say it enough. I feel almost like this is my baby (a baby with many mothers! LMFAO ;) ), and it makes me incredibly proud to see the involvement...!

I Fear Coldplaying is Leaving Me...
I don't know, I sort of rotate with interests around here. Sometimes I'll come just for Coldplay news. Other times I'll show up just to write in the Music section. Or I'll debate something in the politics section. With the Charity Club, though, I've got an excuse to come here each day and find something good to do. That never gets boring, at least. I thought the lounge was doin' good last week, but now it's back to being sort of boring. :\

MySpace is for losers... but the COLDPLAYING CHARITY CLUB AIN'T!! Heh, I love that - Rep. Kennedy crashes into the Capitol.
lmfao. Silly Kennedys. *sigh* It really embaresses me, though. It's like no one in this state gives a damn about politics, so they just vote for whatever name sounds most familiar. And that person is usually an idiot. But with a father like Ted Kennedy you've got to be pretty messed up LMFAO- Hi! I've got some questions...
Welcome! Like your username, by the way! :) Where are you from?- Iran ready for showdown with US: former president
Ah, good. I didn't mean anything like.... I wasn't condoning it or anything. I was just saying that one person's freedom fighter might be another's terrorist. Just as one person's Utopia is another's hell. Where and how you were raised determines which side you end up standing on, I suppose.;)- Iran ready for showdown with US: former president
Except when it's necessary to end a war, right? :lipsrsealed2: I think it's really all relative, I don't know. People are raised amongst different social, political and emotional settings... It shapes morals differently than maybe ours were.- Prom, Anybody?
- Rep. Kennedy crashes into the Capitol.
Hah, I know! I'm quite proud of it :smug: Thank you, thank you! :P I wonder what happens when it comes time for another one (that'll be awhile, obviously)....? Do you get TWO gold stars???- Iran ready for showdown with US: former president
International Relations It is known one of IRA’s important financial resources is “Irish Northern Aid Committee” in USA. United Kingdom tries to eliminate this support by effecting on powerful Irish Lobby in USA. Libya is another supporter of IRA. UK by pressuring on Libya and by abstracting it from international platforms tries to cease its military support to IRA. Source: http://www.teror.gen.tr/english/organisations/ira.html A secondary, but most important, point, which underlines the fallacy of the decommissioning argument completely, is the very obvious one that if the IRA wished it could give up every piece of equipment it has and, given the availability of the armaments in teh world, replace them all almost immediately. I have seen several references, in various commentators' writings for TV programmes, to the IRA's stockpile largely consisting of weapons imported from Libya. But from my own knowledge I know of shipments that never surfaced in the media, which came from the ever-fertile procurement ground of America. One huge shipment, possibly the largest ever, may have contained a plastic explosive which was used in the attack on the Brighton hotel that nearly claimed Margaret Thatcher's life. Source: The IRA by Tim Pat Coogan (EDIT: I apologize for any spelling errors, I typed this by hand ;)) Richard Hass, the president's key advisor on Northern Ireland, has demanded a full explanation from Gerry Adams. Sinn Fein is hugely dependent on both political and financial support from the USA. Source: http://www.prisonplanet.com/news_alert_mi5terror_4.html And read this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/48407.stm Not to mention the support I hear people spew out without knowing a damned thing about the IRA nor it's history around me. They consider themselves full bred Irish, but they've never been back to their homeland. Yet they support their "united Ireland" and think that the fight is necessary. I'm Irish-American, and I don't EVER think that violence and terrorism is a valid way to win your freedom. I've been studying the IRA for the past 3 months (on my own, sadly my school doesn't offer classes in Irish history :() and it only confirmed my belief that the IRA is a widely misunderstood (by Americans) organization.- Rep. Kennedy crashes into the Capitol.
Rep. Kennedy in car accident near U.S. Capitol Son of Sen. Kennedy denies alcohol was involved, says he will cooperate WASHINGTON - Rep. Patrick Kennedy crashed his car near the Capitol early Thursday, and a police official said he appeared intoxicated. Kennedy said he had had no alcohol before the accident. Kennedy, D-R.I., addressed the issue after a spate of news reports. “I was involved in a traffic accident last night at First and C Street SE near the U.S. Capitol,” Kennedy said in a written statement released by his office. “I consumed no alcohol prior to the incident. I will fully cooperate with the Capitol Police in whatever investigation they choose to undertake.” Kennedy appeared to be intoxicated when he crashed his car into a barrier on Capitol Hill early Thursday morning, said Louis P. Cannon, president of the Washington chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police. Cannon, who was not there, said the officers involved in the accident were instructed by an official “above the rank of patrolman” to take Kennedy home. No sobriety tests were conducted at the scene. A letter written by a Capitol Police officer to Acting Chief Christopher McGaffin said Kennedy appeared to be staggering when he left the vehicle after the crash about 3 a.m. The letter was first reported by Roll Call, a Capitol Hill newspaper. Kennedy said he was late for a vote, officer Greg Baird said in the letter to McGaffin. Baird is acting chairman of the Capitol Hill chapter of the FOP police union. The last vote of the night had occurred almost six hours earlier. Kennedy, the son of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., and his staff declined to discuss any further details of the accident. The congressman took part in House votes Thursday. Capitol Police did not immediately return phone calls for comment. They issued a one-line statement saying they were investigating a traffic violation that occurred early in the morning at that location. Baird wrote McGaffin that two sergeants who responded to the accident conferred with the watch commander and were ordered to leave the scene. He said that after the officers left, Capitol Police officials gave Kennedy a ride home. Kennedy spent time at a drug rehabilitation clinic before he went to Providence College. He has been open about mental health issues, including being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Source: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12634639/ Oh man. I am so embaressed for my state. I hate Patrick Kennedy, he's a spineless turd. But I guess as long as you bring the elderly their donuts every 2 years and ride on the coat tails of the past you can stay in Congress forever. The only time Rhode Island makes the news is when one of our politicians does something idiotic. :snore:- the ~what pisses you off the most~ thread

..................................... OMG. AAAAAAH YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY I feel so fucking accomplished now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- Is bush the worse president in Amreican history ..
mmmmm, Buchanan! I completely forgot about him. Wow, he was a shitbag.- Iran ready for showdown with US: former president
I'm sorry, I haven't been following this debate very closely, so I may be repeating some of you here. But what Maldini said caught my eye. The USA has supported terrorism. Israel uses terrorism. That's obvious enough, and we suck Israel's figurative cock, for christ's sake. The IRA is/was a terrorist organization. It is PROVEN that the IRA could not have sponsored it's bombing campaign without support from the United States. Whatever your view on the Troubles may be, I think it's painfully obvious that the IRA was an extreme political terrorist organization which our government and people have supported out of sympathy and god know's what else. (I just wrote a paper on this crap, so don't go telling me that it's not a terrorist organization or that the US doesn't have/had sympathy for it, because I just am going to go "LALALA CAN'T HEAR YOU") And then there's Saudi Arabia. Mmmm, lovely old Saudi Arabia. Tastes like hypocracy to me. Soooo... If the US supports terrorism, what ARE we? And what DO we stand for? It's all very double sided to me.- the ~what pisses you off the most~ thread
Amen to that. Oh and here's the ULTIMATE: Overweight guys who think that they're someday going to score a "wicked hot" chick, or feel compelled to judge girls based on their body size. Obviously, they are allergic to mirrors.:dozey: I have never met a man without blinders on who is not a rock star, nor gay.- Prom, Anybody?
I find this thread pretty interesting, it portrays different life dynamics really well. I, myself, am a fairly social person. I don't rely on booze, drugs or sex however to have a nice time. I don't judge character based on that, and FOR ME (ALERT: OPINION) by doing that you simply have low self esteem and underlying problems. I go to proms. I dance with my friends. I have a lot of fun. I go home after them, I go to sleep, and I wake up all nice nice in the morning. Other people go out, get drunk, get laid. They wake up gross the next morning but "fuck, that was a slammin' time yo". I just can't understand it... I have a better time reading a book, going to a concert, playing my bass guitar, than drinking. I got pissed as fuck on New Years Eve this year (all alone, mind you) and I swear I never want to do that again. How pointless. Maybe it would have been more fun if it were a party with a bunch of people, but I really don't think so. I know people who think dry humping some random stranger at a party is cool. What's the excuse for it all? Vodka, or tequila. It's all just a phase. I guess it's alright for now, partying and having that outlook on life. But eventually there are two paths. You calm down and get a "clean" life, or you become a stoned alcoholic with no real love in your life. If someone can present me with the middle road, I will really like to see it (because I may want to take it myself LMFAO). People who get drunk at social outings piss me off. Some fuckers were drunk at my school's Winter Ball. They threw ice cubes at me. It almost ruined my night, I didn't let it though. I knew they weren't singly targetting me (I hope...), but it did make me stop dancing and leave after that. They were totally off their heads, I just didn't understand it. And don't even get me started on the idiots at the two Coldplay concerts I went to. They think they can have a good time with an artificial automatic happy substance. Sadly, it's at the expense of everyone else. And they have nooooo clue. It's really very sad. Whatever, it's obvious that people are raised with different values and backgrounds. It just makes me sad, that's all....- Guy's going to be a dad! - confirmed in Hello'!!!!!!
