  2. ^I don't really think that's true. I'd much rather have him not live down other things than this. Like um.... Iraq. :idea2:
  3. I haven't laughed that hard watching the Daily Show in so long... I'm sorry but there's something awkwardly hysterical about all this. It's not the fact that this man was shot (there's absolutely NOTHING funny about that). It's the fact that Cheney shot him. It just.............................. makes sense...........
  4. love your sig,crawlinwithin!
  5. This thread is soooo sexy :wink3:
  6. Yeah, it's sort of like how I'm embaressed by my country and fellow Americans every day of my life.
  7. I don't have any idea why they don't play it. I heard them doing it in soundcheck back in August and it was AMAZING. I thought they were playing the album really loud in the Tweeter Center before everyone came in, seriously. That's how shocked I was. Ever since then I've been obsessed with hearing it live. No matter where. I just want a live mp3 of that. And a music video to that song would be really cool.
  8. I think what the debate is is the lengths to which you should go to state your point. I mean. I've found things offensive before but I don't go burning government buildings over it...

EWE OK JOAN RIVERS IS A FUCKING PIG  Sorry. I don't like her. :wideeyed:
  10. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah man. Gotta love that third eye :wideeyed:
  11. ;) Ok  Well, no, what I was really trying to say is that a lot of people in America view Iraqis or Muslims as terrorists. And these cartoon riots certainly aren't helping their reputation. I really didn't want to bring the war into it, but it was a quick and easy example I had. I just wonder how everything there can ever settle down. Or will it always be like this?

Oh, I wasn't trying to say it was only the mega rich who do it. They're just the most obvious examples. I've seen tons of people in real life walking down the street who have obviously had work done. Just to look better, at that. It's so, so sad... "No, honey. You can't go to that college because mommy needs a new face lift. Sorry."
  13. I see what you're saying now. I can't speak for the Muslim world, and I won't even attempt to. I don't pretend to know these people, their situation or what they're going through. I think that if the world did take a very close look at this region (which it HAS TO), we would find that it is indeed a minority. The overwhelming majority, I'm sure, is just as perplexed by the whole situation as us. Of course, I could be wrong. But I sure hope I'm not. This is what disgusts me about war. We're waging a war on a country where there is a VERY VERY small amount of people to fight. It's almost like a minor racism... I don't know how to describe what I'm thinking, sorry. But am I making a little sense? We're making a lot of enemies in that region of the world because it's so blatantly obvious that we don't know squat about the people who we've involved in our fights.
  14. Seriously, it should have been Twisted Logic. Because I friggin NEED to hear that live. And a video would be awesome! I'm sorry but... Hardest Part has sort of become a cliche for me. It's typical Coldplay. Logic is different and I think it'd impress a lot of people who need impressing. Ah well. I'm used to not getting my way.
  15. :wink3: That's what I call devotion, people! Well, if I miss school one more time I'm either expelled or held back. And I want to see them in NH on the 3rd... but that's a 4 hour drive... So basically... I'd HAVE TO stay out... Well. Coldplay>my future  No, I don't know. The biggest thing I'd do for them is probably pay 300 bucks for tickets off ebay.
  16. *mourns Twisted Logic*

^that's so true. I think that plastic surgery can be incredibly beneficial to a person who's had an injury. Someone my mom works with was bitten by a dog on the face. She's completely disfigured... For a person like that it is almost mandatory (sadly, this particular person can't afford the procedure :/ ). I was looking through Enquirer magazine (or one of those shitrags) the other day because my grandma subscribes to it. There was a whole section dedicated to plastic surgery "evidence" for the stars. It's sad what's happened to a lot of them. Looking at the before and after pictures, the before almost always looks superior. What's the tragedy with these people is that they don't have anyone to say NO. Michael Jackson is the most obvious example. He's got so many people in his pocket, who are getting paid enormous sums to reattatch his nose to his face. They're not about to say "Sorry, Mike, but I really think removing that cheekbone is going to look shit." when they're getting paid a million or half a mil to do it. (I don't know if I would  ;) )
  18. I and others I know who normally empathize with problems of the muslim people in the middle east are losing alot of respect for them over this. Same here. The media certainly knows how to take one story, run with it then blow it out of proportion. But this is actually happening, so I doubt it's all a media spin on the situation. Is it true that Iran (correct me if I'm wrong on this) is running a contest for cartoons mocking the Holocaust? The entire situation is getting more and more fucked up by the day.
  19. Earlier in this thread I stated how the world is my Valentine. Yeah, well... Update: The world friggin' stood me up today. It absolutely SUCKS as a Valentine. No chocolates or cards or ANYTHING.
  20. I'm fucked at life. Thanks world for being such a shitty Valentine
  21. Oh. The irony. It's almost painful.
  22. How could I say anyone else? Definately get the U2! If you don't have any other albums of theirs (or if you've never really listened to them) then the Best Of collection is a great start, particularly 1980-1990. But if I were to recommend ONE album for you to get, it would probably be 'War'. Excellent, excellent album. The first one of theirs I ever got. If it weren't for that album I probably wouldn't even be remotely interested in U2. ;)
  23. I got both of their albums a couple days back and have basically been listening to them non stop since. Great band, I really like their sound! Count me in as a new fan! :D
  24. and when are they going to die? I don't know, let me ask God for ya. I'm a big fan of the Rolling Stones. Exile on Main Street is a classic, as are many of their older albums. Not TOO big of a fan of their recent additions, but I'm not complaining about it either. I was lucky enough to catch them in Fenway Park this past summer and it was definately one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Just an incredible band live. But they charge too much fuckin' money for tickets, seriously. 160 each for a nosebleed... I almost had a heartattack when I saw what I bought... Ah well, it was worth it.
  25. Great concert,Bonokeith7, one of my favorites! Joyce, heard it was a great show!!!! I wouldn't mind some videos if it's not too much of a problem! In fact, I'll even use my U2.com email (payed 40 bucks for that thing, might as well give it some damn use!) [email protected] :D Glad to see U2's rockin' the countries who've been waiting so long to see them!
