  1. Got very mixed feelings on this one. It's undeniably cheesy, but I feel strangely drawn to it.
  2. Famous Old Painter replied to Tash's topic in True Love
I'm getting Mercury Rev vibes off this strangely enough. It's the intro mainly. I'd kill to hear a version without the beat.
  3. I have no problems with the lyrics, and the songwriting is fine for the most part. I just wish they'd arranged it in a more acoustic Parachutes-y way as opposed to a modern electronic sound. I've got nothing against electronic music, but over the years Coldplay have shown me they just don't do it that well. This is a band who are at their best when seated at real instruments, it just feels so much warmer and more human that way. It's no coincidence that Oceans and O are the best songs on here. Half the songs are positive steps forward, and half the songs (possibly less) feel like an MX hangover. ASFoS shouldn't have been included and Ink is just too cheesy for me. Still overall, a big improvement over MX.
  4. Yeah, doesn't seem like it's gonna happen. But let's wait and see
  5. I'm sinking my teeth into the new Swans record at the moment. Doesn't sound a thing like Coldplay but it's very very good.
  6. Moving To Mars is too upbeat, the lyrics aren't personal enough and the production is too big to really fit on Ghost Stories.
  7. Quoted
  8. James Hetfeild sang "I AM THE TABLE" several times on the album Lulu Lulu was released in October 2011, the same month as Mylo Xyloto. Backpacking
  9. A helmet is something you put on your head Your head has blood flowing to into it Coldplay released an album called A Rush Of Blood To The Head Bricks
  10. I'm pretty certain they'll all find their way onto the net pretty quickly after the release date
  11. Will it leak on page 69? Probably not
  12. Chris probably was going through a breakup when he wrote AROBTTH. It had nothing whatsoever to do with Gwenyth though. I'd always thought the lyrical content of Up In Flames was odd coming from a happily married man. Maybe this is why.
  13. Here's a thought, have we heard anything about the Japanese edition? They're usually released earlier and have bonus tracks.
  14. Parachutes - Spies, although Yellow holds the most sentimental value. AROBBTH - All of them, but when pressed... Politik X&Y - X&Y or Twisted Logic Viva - Cemeteries Of London MX - Up With The Birds is the only song I really like
  15. Parachutes - High Speed. Too blatant a Radiohead ripoff AROBBTH - A Whisper. I love it, but I had to pick one X&Y - Fix You annoys me, honestly. People seem to vote for X&Y and Twisted Logic a lot but honestly they're my 2 favourite songs from it. Viva - Lost MX - Princess Of China of course GS - Haven't heard the whole thing but it's difficult to imagine anything worse than ASFoS
  16. There have been so many bands in history who have sworn to stay together and then had lineup changes. It would depend on the circumstances really. I don't get the feeling that'll happen to Coldplay anytime soon.
  17. Was it really like this? I'd left the board around the MX era.
  18. Or maybe they're wanting to remain on good terms for the sake of the kids.
  19. I remember Viva didn't leak until just days before the Japan edition was due out.
  20. My drink just went through my nose
  21. Ooh! A challenge!
  22. I can't wait for his next ASFoS thread. Each opinion has been more thrilling than the last.
