  1. I remember once way back (I think it was when AROBTTH just came out) they were doing an interview at some radio station and the dj jokingly introduced them as Chris Martin and the Cold Plays which they guys got a pretty big kick out of. There is a video of it somewhere on youtube...
  2. In past radio interviews we have learned that chris is a vegan and that johnny loves cake... I hope to learn more about will's eating habits this time.
  3. As an American fan of two iconic British exports, James Bond and Doctor Who, I have a question... Which role is a bigger deal from a cultural / media standpoint when it comes to being recast? I know there is a large amount of press coverage and public debate regarding the casting of both roles but does one seem to gain more attention then the other? Does one character seem to have more importance to British pop culture? Perhaps as an observer from afar I have overestimated the importance of these characters to your culture but from what I have seen both seem to be nothing less then national institutions... just how much weight do they carry in the UK? As far as character casting goes I can't think of anything in the States that causes as much fervor as these two roles seem to do so it's a subject that I find very interesting. Any feedback would be much appreciated!
  4. Jack White's new solo album Blunderbuss is streaming for free on itunes right now. I think White Stripes fans will be more then pleased but that is just my opinion of course. Its a nice mix of all the styles that we've grown to love... some nice blues-rock, a few all out garage rockers, a few songs with that jack white does country sound and a couple that are just strange/beautiful jack white tunes... you know the type I mean. Not reinventing the wheel (his or any others) by any means but really enjoyable stuff. Really loving Hypocritical Kiss, Weeping Themselves to Sleep, and Love Interuption.
  5. Don't worry we will hear the unreleased MX era songs... on the Mylo Xylto: 20th Anniversary Edition release due in 2031! Only 19 more years...

  7. If there is a party in the forest at 3 am and you're not there does it make any noise?
  8. Baw8cc you've only been a member since May of 2011!?! I could have swore you have been here for years now... it just seems like I've been seeing your posts for a long time now. Just an observation...
  9. the cover art for that single reminds me so much of the cover art for the killers' hot fuss! not that that really means too much... just saying.
  10. lol... i think you mean mind-boggling unless of course you were referring to this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWkNPrXkvRA]Mind Bottling - YouTube[/ame]
  11. Parachutes: Yellow A Rush of Blood to the Head: Green Eyes X&Y: Til Kingdom Come Viva la Vida: Strawberry Swing Mylo Xyloto: Charlie Brown
  12. We're very pleased to report that Keane are heading out on a UK tour in May and June 2012, where they'll be performing songs from their soon-to-be-announced new album. The dates are as follows: MAY 2012 Wednesday 23 - Newcastle O2 Academy Thursday 24 - Glasgow O2 Academy Friday 25 - Birmingham O2 Academy Tuesday 29 - Leeds O2 Academy Wednesday 30 - Manchester O2 Apollo JUNE 2012 Monday 04 - Folkestone Leas Cliff Hall Tuesday 05 - Bristol O2 Academy Wednesday 06 - Leicester De Montfort Hall Friday 08 - London O2 Academy Brixton
  13. If they are sticking with "older / safe" acts with a number of well known hits then my guess would be Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. He has a number of crowd pleasing "bar" anthems for the over 40 crowd. Not to mention he has been an established stadium act for years. Just imagine... Runnin Down a Dream / Learning to Fly / Free Fallin' / American Girl all songs about making it through the hard times and following your dreams... perfect for the Super Bowl.
  14. You chose your friends over watching Coldplay and now you must pay the price for having a social life!
  15. so what do you think... album title and release date sometime next week... tracklisting and cover art sometime in march... album in april or may?
  16. where did you read that? could be a second b-sides album (the first being The Masterplan) which would be nice. i don't see any original material being released... at least not yet.
  17. Let this video be a warning to all you kids out there. If you take drugs at a club Chris Martin's head WILL spin around the room with an evil grin on his face and totally freak you out. You don't want Chris Martin's head spinning around the room with an evil grin on his face do you? Don't do drugs...
  18. Not to derail the original topic of this thread and turn it into a conversation about another band but I could not agree more. H&F and UTIS are really something special with UTIS being my personal favorite. Perfect Symmetry I can tolerate and there are even parts that I genuinely enjoy. Night Train though... Still, I have very high hopes for the new album.
  19. But do you like Keane?
  20. The timing on all of this, as well as the fact that it appears they are promoting two songs at once, seems strange to us but I have a theory on their reasoning: This could all be part of a very calculated (not to mention ambitious) plan to take a shot at having two songs in the top 10 at once. Kind of like “a battle on two fronts” so to speak. Promote Charlie Brown with a new video and Princess of China with live appearances all while releasing both of them to radio stations. Again, just a theory but... could it work?
  21. All the Way to Reno and Imitation of Life both being off of Reveal of course.
  22. I agree. All the Way to Reno and Imitation of Life are solid too in my opinion. Don't love Around the Sun but I was happy with them ending things on Accelerate / Collapse Into Now. I thought it was a strong finish to an amazing career.
  23. Is Up your favorite post-Berry REM album?
