For some reason I imagine this song to have very distictive and different parts... similar to the way 42 is arranged.

The current trend seems to be for a band to release an album and then six months to a year later release a "special edition" or "deluxe" version of that album with bonus tracks. I wonder if this is something that Coldplay would consider doing. Also it should be noted that one of the 13 songs has a good chance of ending up as an itunes bonus track...

Chris said they had 13 songs finished but that doesnt mean all 13 will make it on the album. The Billboard article goes into detail about how they are trying to decide which few won't make the cut.

It would be interesting to know what their contractual obligation to EMI is. They may very well have to produce an album six or seven to fufill it. Not that you want a band that you love only making music because they are legally obligated to... Anyone with some knoledge on the music industry know how this works? If a band signs with a label for say, six albums, do they have to produce six albums or does the label just have the rights to six albums IF they are produced?

How long do you think before someone skims this thread and thinks that IDK and Totally Clueless are real songs?

I read in Fake Rumor Today that IDK is probably gonna be the first single but that Totally Clueless is gonna be a huge fan favorite.

This month's issue of Q magazine has a blurb about Coldplay on the cover. It reads "Coldplay: Stadium Rock's New Kings" and in the description on the website it says the article is about them in the studio... anyone read it? sorry if this was brought up anywhere else. we have so many LP5 threads at this point its getting hard to keep track.

the line "us against the world" shows up in both Major Minus and, of course, Us Against the World if I'm not mistaken. This could very well be due to the overall lyrical content of the album but I still think it counts.

I think coldception would be a good name for a coldplay cover band.
