  1. That is from the epic 80's cartoon dino-riders! which Im pretty sure was around for all of 15 episodes... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5reNoxq0Mk]Dino Riders Intro - YouTube[/ame]
  2. True. It does seem like some are expecting more music too soon BUT it is worth pointing out that Viva la Vida was only 5 months old when Prospekt's March came out. Im not saying that they will do the same thing again... just that it wouldn't be unheard of.
  3. now would be a good time for that Charlie Brown video...that hits the web and you'll make up those 60 and then some.
  4. we know at this point that we are going to get something and now it is just a matter of time until we see what... As far as I can imagine these are the options: 1) An EP Same idea as the Prospekt's March ep. Leftover / new songs from the MX sessions. Maybe a new song or two... a remix or another collaboration. A companion to MX (in form / style) or maybe it's own thing? We'll see... 2) Mylo Xyloto: Special Edition / Extended Edition / Tour Edition These are very popular these days and are starting to seem to be a normal part of the record companies marketing cycle regarding albums. Arcade Fire did one for The Suburbs. If it is up to the label or the artist I'm not sure but it seems to be a trend. The original MX album with two or three extra tracks added on to the end. Maybe fill it out with a DVD of some sort, some new packaging... and bam! you have a nice new item for the diehard fans to buy and extra incentive for those who have not bought it yet. 3) B-sides / Double A-side As simple as that. With the lack of physical singles now are there really a such thing as b-sides anymore (at least how they used to be)... maybe on vinyl I guuess... I would think at this point in the industry it's better just to put out an ep... easier to promote (both digital / itunes and you can sell it in stores) ... in the states we never get b-sides so I ask this of those in the UK... are b-sides still a relevent option? It seems there are too many options left on MX for singles to record a new song for a double a-side but who knows... 4) Online give away / concert give away / thank you songs Kind of like they have done in the past with LRLRL. A thank you to the fans, a way to kick off the tour... maybe a disk to give away at shows... they are amazing when it comes to taking care of the fans. 5) Mylo XyloTwo / Mylo Xylo2 A second album in the "world" of MX. Kind of like U2's Zooropa or Radioheads's Amnesiac. If they have enough material maybe... but they said the same thing after Viva and it didn't happen. Of course we got Prospekt's March which was pretty close.
  5. at last... some news! from billboard: The idea of making a dirty pop record -- this is what has been on our minds," Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos tells Billboard.com of the band's ongoing studio sessions in Glasgow. A new, as-yet-untitled album is expected from the group this summer via Epic. "It's the opposite of punk/pop, which took something that was wonderful and removed all the dirt," Kapranos says. The approach is best-heard on "Ride Together," a "full-on upbeat, riding across the desert rock song. A lot of the other stuff is more rhythm- and dance-based," he says. After demoing material in Glasgow, the group intended to record the album in a proper studio in London. But after trial sessions there, "we decided the ones we did in Glasgow sounded much better," according to Kapranos. "There was a real dirtiness, edge and attitude." "We've decided we're going to do it up here, ourselves," he continues. "It's funny, because logically everything is wrong. We should go to a big studio and spend millions. But logic is never appropriate when you're making music. You've gotta trust your instincts. This stuff made us want to get up and dance." Aiding the band's new sonic endeavors are some old Russian synthesizers. "We found this thing called a Polyvox, built by a Russian engineer in the late '70s," Kapranos says. "He'd heard what a Moog was and had heard the sounds, but had no idea how to make one. He worked out how it would be made and made his version of what he thought a synth would be." He concludes, "For me, the imperfections are what makes it perfect, like the cheapest, shittiest guitars through practice amps."
  6. ok so I guess this was just me being dumb but when I clicked on this i thought Brilliant Stages was some new band that was going to be opening up for Coldplay on the tour. An i the only one?
  7. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uWwvQKGjLI]The Smashing Pumpkins - Ava Adore - YouTube[/ame]
  8. The video for Charlie Brown has to travel back in time to 1955 and make sure that it's father kisses it's mother at the high school prom thus ensuring it’s own existence. 1.21 jigawatts!!!
  9. In a strange way the most important thing in keeping a forum "alive" is how strong the "non-band" sections of the forum are. Good General Discussion Areas (like the always busy World of Music section on this site) keep people coming back during those long dry spells between albums. That is why this board has done an excellent job of keeping posters active that may no longer even be the biggest of coldplay fans. Coldplaying - It's not just for Coldplay fans anymore!
  10. They have a forum on the official site keanemusic.com but I wouldn't really call it active... at least not like this place is. Maybe it will pick up a little when the new album comes out (I would hope) but the site itself is worth checking out. Lots of updates, messages from the band, and little studio clips these days. Other then that there is a pretty active keane thread right here in the world of music forum with plenty of other fans for you to talk to. Thats what I would check out...

  13. Well, this comes out in less then a week and we still have not had any information on a tracklisting or any b-sides. If there were going to be any wouldn't we have heard about it by now? When have we found out in the past... the day of release or before?
  14. Any lyrics to the full AHT? What exactly does it say in regards to it being a full song?
