Hello from the UK
Reasonably priced tickets? Yes of course there are!! I gave away a Brixton ticket on here just to make someone happy (OK I know they were free to begin with, but people were paying over £100 on ebay to get in, and no-one needs the money like me!) And it was one of the best things I ever did - made me so very happy in return, it was priceless :) And my 6 tickets for this December in London are worth a ridiculous amount, but I may have two spare, and have already promised them to a guy on here for face value because I know he's a true fan desperate to see them. That's what it's all about!! :)

18-June-2008: BBC Gig - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
I didn't take a single picture! I love photography and am so into it that if I took a camera I'd be more into the photos and miss every second of the gig that I'd much rather cherish! Kash took some great pics on our behalf, and Stephie too. I've lost the link to Stephie's (Steph please tell me where they were again!) but Kash's are on this thread somewhere - if you click on his username in my profile's friends list you'll be able to find it - despite my prompting he still doesn't have many posts hehe :)

Hello from the UK
You mean Crystal Palace? I was lucky enough to be there one night - rain and all, it was beautiful (and last time I heard my beloved Warning Sign live, alas) :) Search on here for the Bowl rumour - the guy who posted works there, or his brother does or something...anyway it was random but interesting (and especially for you!) Also, the official site often seems the last place to post certain breaking news, somehow, lol, so keep your ears close to the screen when you're logged on here and dare to dream a bit, and hopefully see you at the O2 gigs later this year!! :)

It's such a perfect day...
Elyria, do you mean are the lyrics to CSC deliberately ambiguous, so that we bring our own personal meaning to them? If so I couldn't agree more, and I think their absence from the lyric booklet in Japan might prove that! :)

Prince anyone?????
He's extremely short. Making a midget comment about Prince is the 'humourous' equivalent of calling Chris a 'spastic' because he messes up vocal lines so often in every gig. It may have been mean but it was, unfortunately, true. He's an incredible musician, lyricist, everything. He has some personality quirks which I don't always like, but that seems to be the pattern with geniuses (as well as the rest of us, no doubt!!)

Hello there and a big welcome to the forum! You chose some lovely lyrics there :) And you have a guardian angel? I'd be very interested to hear a little bit more about that. Anyway have a great time here :)

Help Me Open Live For Coldplay Please *bites fingers*
You know what I think, but I'll chip in again, hope you don't mind... Don't underestimate those small gigs, each one is very likely a small stepping stone towards what you one day dream of. That said, I personally think you have the voice, the songwriting skill, and the performance ability to try to push for the next level a lot sooner, but only if you wish to. You have the talent, it's up to you how you're going to try to play things. Good luck and please bring us new songs soon :)

Hello from the UK
Welcome, welcome Phil, very nice to meet you here :) Wow, a very long time fan! Have you seen the lads live many times? Hoping to see them later this year at all? I didn't catch the band till 2002 as I'd been living out in Asia for a few years and was out of the Western music loop, (funnily enough my then-Japanese girlfriend was the one who introduced me to them). My first gig was Fuji Rock in Japan in 2003 - changed my whole life! :) Btw, seeing where you live, I *think* there was a rumour on one thread here recently that Coldplay are going to play the Bowl there (is that the name?) next summer, you might want to check on that.

Profiles
Ah well, I well maybe wrong, so thanks very much for the correction ladies :)

Profiles
No you don't. You click on 'view conversation' in your own profile, and then click on and write a reply to that. Seem to works for me :)

Coldplay Being Considered For Headline Slot At Glastonbury 2009
I never have arguments, just healthy discussions (which I've already tried to take into another thread btw). If there's a 'massive argument' here shouldn't the admins or mods be sorting that out (And God knows I wish they would!!) I used ignore for this particular member for a very long time, but felt I had to undo it and see (and reply to) what was upsetting people, as the mods and admin weren't doing what they're supposed to (sorry to say). Aren't threads on this board supposed to stay on track? Aren't you used you dealing with trolls??? Very glad someone said that at last :)

Coldplay Being Considered For Headline Slot At Glastonbury 2009
Oh dear. My points you ignore. No surprise, really. I'm sure they're uncomfortable for you. You are a troll. I didn't like to think so, gave you a chance, have spent far too much of my time waiting for you to redeem yourself in some small way. But back on 'ignore' he goes. Over 30,000 posts full of negativity and hatred?? Oh dear.

Coldplay Being Considered For Headline Slot At Glastonbury 2009
You did that in your first post here, so why are you STILL here espousing the same point (and still ruining the thread for others?)? Well do so, please, and be gone.

Thanks for replying. Your 'cute' one liners, your ridiculous 'winkies' when there is nothing to be winked about, and your empty replies give you away yet again, but I'm more than prepared to enter into a debate with you (on a thread when it's not off-topic and upsetting others, as you very well know) so please feel free to start one for our discussion. I'll be there in a flash. Otherwise please feel free to PM me. You have some sort of problem that the mods are obviously not confident enough to address. I'd be glad to help you, seriously, just get in touch :)

Warning Sign
I saw it live loads until the gigs in London Dec 06 - the dropped it :( Eek! I was there!! There's video? Could someone please point me in that direction???? (That was an amzing gig btw :)) Chris said that on that Canadian show, The Hour I think, (the links were posted here). It was not only an incredible interview, but that news just made my year!! :) Warning Sign is heaven for me. There are so many favourites, but something very special about that one. I really do hope so much it's coming back.

Coldplay Being Considered For Headline Slot At Glastonbury 2009
Sigh. I think I'm winning a very slow battle against someone that many other people have long since given up on, but I'm a stickler for a lost cause (and more fool me, in this particular case??!) I thought you were very young from all the posts of yours I'd read m_c - so needlessly negative, brief to the point of being nonsensical, and often trying to tear a thread away from its topic (and repeatedly so, no matter how much it upset other people, and those of us who are slightly older on this forum have to remember that there are a lot of kids here). But now I think you're older. Your reasoning seems quite advanced, despite the actual content of your posts, and albeit desperately flawed. So how old are you? I see no empathy in your posts. No wonder at the amazing universe we are lucky enough to inhabit. I'd like to know why you like Coldplay, and why you post so much at Coldplaying.com?

Coldplay Being Considered For Headline Slot At Glastonbury 2009
Yes, music can be just as equally a uniting force as a divisive one. Either way it's uniquely powerful. It's interesting that you miss the irony Jay-Z's performance seems to have united almost everyone in praise. In your book it's OK for Chris Martin to roll out a carefully-rehearsed profanity in response to a mess-up (that was also probably just as carefully rehearsed) just to seem a little 'edgy' and get a cheer, but Jay-Z shouldn't swear in his songs? Ummm...OK. Also, remember that Chris grew up in an environment where that language was only spoken out of parental earshot. In contrast, in the place where Jay-Z grew up that language would have peppered almost any sentence. Or do you think only middle-class British acts should be allowed at Glastonbury now??! As for the politics; rock music (and arguably music in general) is fundamentally political. Coldplay are in a position to overtly influence millions of people around the world (a la Bono) and I respect that - for them it obviously HAS to be almost all about the music for it to work for them. But I have even more respect for people who do use their position to fight for what they think is right, and if that's what Jay-Z did then good for him. And btw you might like to avoid seeing Coldplay live on this tour. They have a video for Violet Hill they're also using at their gigs, with Bush and Blair (and other members of the present carnival of idiots) on show. You'd better lie low. If you'd hate that, please don't post, you know?! Brilliant post and well said! :)

why is LOST! so popular
I think I was 'ruined' by the beautiful acoustic version too, but I've slowly come round to the album version. When I'm in a very bright mood I love it, and it's great for dancing - really great - but most other times I'd prefer to hear Lost? I think I'm going to make a CD with the acoustic version for that one track on instead (with LiJ Acoustic as the 'kimchi only' bonus track :)) The other thing I'd like to do, but don't have the technical skill, is to merge the two versions, with Lost? as a base which slowly adds in elements from Lost! I'd also really love to hear a Gospel version of Lost?

Coldplay Being Considered For Headline Slot At Glastonbury 2009
Welcome back Kara!! It's great to hear you had an awesome time and loved Jay-Z - the overwhelming reaction seems to have been that he was an unqualified success. He's not my cup of tea as I said before, but I think it's brilliant that Glastonbury took such a risk. I thought that was the whole original spirit of the festival, after all. It's interesting you mention the age thing about mc_squared. Is he particularly young or old (I had guessed he might be a young-un)? Some music can unite all ages in life, and that is one thing Coldplay do I think - I was at my Aunt's birthday last weekend and a lot of the 70-somethings were like 'oh I really like Coldplay, why do they get such bad press?!' I understand Jay-Z's profanity amongst other things might very well divide the audience, but my Dad seemed to quite enjoy watching it on the TV. But I'm astounded that anyone who abhors unnecessary profanity or political statements in music and/or at gigs is (a) interested in Coldplay, and (b) into modern music at all!!

Dude, you are really letting this Jay-Z thing affect your life far far too much. Just let it go - you'll be happier for it.

15-Dec-08 - London, O2 Arena - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Hey Nardos :) This'll be your first gig? Wow, you're really in for a life-changing evening!! I'll be meeting up with hopefully a few people from here, so you'll be welcome to join us. It'd be nice to get a big group together :) Block 112 is to the side I think, you might have one of the very best views of all the tiered blocks. I'll try to post the seating plan, but don't know if this'll work.

Coldplay Being Considered For Headline Slot At Glastonbury 2009
I've just had the thought that if Coldplay do headline next year, Jay-Z will be sure to be there for the event, and we may have him gusting on Lost! :)

No my friend, that quote is by me after my miraculous attendance at both the Brixton and BBC gigs :)

Coldplay Being Considered For Headline Slot At Glastonbury 2009
The bits I saw of Jay-Z looked brilliant, even though it's not my cup of tea (it's not even my cup of hot water!) I'd say Coldplay are very likely headliners for the next festival, depending on whether or not it fits into their own plans to conquer the world, and that's the debatable part.
