It's no surprise it's a little bit wrong for you - Chris sings '...there must be something more'!! 10/10 for me - and I hope it will be for you too, now, Georgia :) By the way, 42 is absolutely incredible live!!

16-Jun-08: London - Brixton Academy
Are you planning to post your list here Cobalt? Mind sending me a quick PM when you finally do - sounds like a great job? :) I bought NME for the first time in many MANY years for the VH single, and quite enjoyed reading it, but that was probably just because I felt like a giddy fifteen year old again :laugh3: When I was that age all the NME did was build people up for a year or two and then knock them for six months till the band disbanded or someone committed suicide, seems like it still does? Melody Maker was far better, shame it closed down. In fact, now we're talking about it, I'm tempted to change my sig to 'don't read any editorial in the NME'.

Doctor Who ???......
I agree, Donna will almost certainly be back(thank goodness). And the ring (which was so prominent at the Shadow Proclamation in The Stolen Earth and many other episodes for a reason, I'm sure) most probably ties in with (possible MAJOR spoiler!):

Help Me Open Live For Coldplay Please *bites fingers*
Gutted :( And they changed the rules, just like the Brixton and BBC gigs here in the UK... can't Coldplay's people organise anything fairly...

What is a strawberry swing?
Well, they are official in Japan! They've been cleared by the record company, people who work directly for the band, and even the guys themselves may have checked tham - Japan is such an important market for them. So I'm sure they're REALLY close and may even be perfect. But at the same time mistakes do creep in sometimes between all the people who work at the record companies in Japan (many of them are not fluent in English) so we cannot assume they are 100% right, alas (especially with 'minor' things like capitalisation) :( If strawberry swing wasn't a place (either a real name or a nickname, it doesn't really matter) then it would have 'the' in front of it, I'm pretty sure. So why not go with that??

Tottenham Hotspur
I don't gamble but was looking at the odds today for next season, and they're interesting. Spurs finishing fifth next season seems like the one bet on teams outside the 'four' the bookies have really gone to lengths to protect (excluding relegation, obviously). Gets me excited, but then I'm a Spurs fan and know how these things usually finish. And what's the point in finishing fifth rather than sixth? Nothing! So I'll take a good cup run (any cup - even losing a Carling Cup final would give us excitement along the way) and qualifying for Europe again as another successful season :)

Help Me Open Live For Coldplay Please *bites fingers*
Seconded, absolutely!! I saw some of the other entries on Youtube, and while some of them were pretty good in their own way (but not my cup of tea), I really think if Coldplay were to choose themselves then you'd be in with a huge shot at this. Good luck!! :)

The thread of SHOEGAZE!!
The House of Love were great, very under-rated :) They almost seemed to be the right band at the wrong time, if you can catch my drift??!! Christine, Hannah, Shine On, I Don't Know Why I Love You, all classics (and many more too). Has anyone ever heard any Leviation? They were Terry Bicker's project after he left the HoL. Very intense, very musical and progressive. Great stuff at the time, though I haven't listened to them for over ten years (:shocked2:) must dig them out. Back on-topic: I was reading the other day on the Wiki page (which actually is a decent read) that Galaxie 500 were also part of the inspiration for the bands we're discussing. Well worth a listen if you haven't heard them, my personal favourite's This Is Our Music, a fantastic album. (Also read, interestingly, that they were themselves partly inspired by the incredible, and far too barely-known or appreciated, legend that is Jonathan Richman. Never knew that, but very welcome news!! :))

'Hate' or whatever - you clearly have something against me. You've made that clear. Now please drop this, and stop following me around the forum posting derogatory comments ( and just look at the list on this page alone!) You are trolling, it's clear. And no doubt you feel a need to have the last word, so that's the last I'll post on here about this now, I'll leave you firing your poisonous comments into the ether. Good day to you.

Dude, you're only embarrassing yourself with your continued campaign. I am quite prepared to ignore you, if you will do the same. I had you on block and made no comments to you after you posted that you didn't have anything more to say to me - that would be fine by me. But you immediately started following me around the forum, making further derogatory remarks after my posts. That's harassment, and I won't let someone post unfounded comments such as those above go unchecked, so sadly for me back off block you had to come. I'd like you to drop this and let us both go about our business. If you won't do that, though, I'm quite resigned to continue responding to you for however long you want to keep this up. You really should read that link about baiting and think of the forum. Your points about hating me are well made enough now without ruining any more threads.

I understand you don't like me, and again ask you to make your vendetta private, via personal messages, rather than stalking me across this forum and making derogatory comments that are obviously aimed at me. If you care about this forum read here about baiting and how it can have an extremely detrimental effect on a website. Your comments about Spurs fans are a cliched caricature. It's realistic for a club of Spurs size and resources to hope to win a couple of cups a decade, or at least get to a couple of cup finals, as well as finishing consistently in the top half of the table. While maintaining the size of the club and spending huge amounts if players, Spurs have failed over the last 15 years or more, most Spurs fans are completely aware of that and ready to admit it. We have, though, been probably the fifth or sixth most successful team in the country over the last three seasons, which is about right, actually it's rather good. And we won a cup last season (unlike Arsenal and Chelsea). So we're very happy thanks and looking forward to the new season very much indeed. :)

Does anyone know the status of our new goalie's signing? I thought he was waiting for special visa clearance, but haven't heard anything further. Another unprovoked personal insult masquerading as a joke. I wonder how many threads you're intending to ruin stalking me and posting such harrassing comments? Once again - please feel free to PM me all the abuse you want, I'm quite happy to deal with you in private. There's no need to take decent threads off-topic. Mind you, you're not doing yourself any favours pursuing such a ridiculous obsessive vendetta in public.

Kara - so surprised and happy and your family are fans!! It's that Kentish water eh?!! :hippy:  So what does everyone think of next season for Spurs? I'd be happy with any cup again, with the UEFA a definite possibility at last, perhaps? :)- The Official Glastonbury 2008 thread!!
Glad you enjoyed so much, very envious of seeing The Verve though!- Falling

Hey Brenda!! Welcome to the site, and I hope you have a great time here! :) How's Mexico and Texas by the way? I have a great friend in Texas that I've been meaning to visit for a few years now, and he's definitely going to be taking me to lots of gigs. Kimchi - Doctor Who ???......
