  1. would you by any chance happen to have a larger version of this photo? :shy:
  2. music videos are like my favorite thing ever. annie (starlight) and i were actually talking about this yesterday. i figure they have to be filming the video now/will be shooting very very soon if it's going to be released in may like we think it will be. let's just hope they're on schedule :dozey:. chris is in NYC right now anyway, so i wonder if that means they already did it. as for the video itself: i want them to appear in it. i think music videos should involve the artist, whether it's performance based or whether they're the main characters in a little story or scenario. it just makes it more interesting, because you (kinda) know the people in the story, rather than some ramond people that you know nothing about (because really, how much can you reveal about a person in 3 minutes?). when the musicians appear in the videos, it's like a reoccuring character or something. i love it. other than that, i don't think i can predict/hope for anything else because i haven't heard the song.
  3. yeah, i would think that's what the lounge is for. "random chatter, have a natter..." all that stuff. all the same: that is more frightening than funny, methinks.
  4. i said the same when i saw he was going to wear that hat he always wears to the wedding! :laugh4: but this is chris we're talking about. i don't think we're ever going to see him in a nice suit and tie, as much as i'd like to. come to think of it, i don't think i've ever seen a pic of chris in a tie.
  5. i haven't listened to it yet either, just put it in itunes. and it helps for your mother to be insane like mine is ;)
  6. ohh, and my mom just sent me REM's accelerate today!
  7. i'm ambivilent about the song being in there. in some ways i think you're right; that if it was screened at film festivals and premiers and previews, then someone would have heard the song and we would know about it. then again, the sort of people that go to these film festivals and exclusive screenings, which are the only ways to have seen this film so far, aren't generally going to the movie to hear the soundtrack and make note of an unreleased song. of course, it's possible, but of the maybe 200 people that have seen this movie in the world so far that didn't work on it, i doubt one is a big enough coldplay fan to really report on the new song. this looks promising, though! it's a thread on the IMDB forum thing on someone saying it's definitely official: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0961728/board/nest/102332750 (you might have to be a member to see it, though :uhoh:) the fact that IMDB has it listed makes me think it's legit, or at least that there's a very good chance of it being in there. but you're right, the silence about it so far makes me wonder if we're just all setting ourselves up for disappointment. at any rate, someone in the UK NEEDS to go see this and report back on the song!! EDIT: OMG. THE RELEASE DATE HAS BEEN PUSHED BACK TO JUNE 20. AKA, AFTER VLVOD'S RELEASE. crapmuffins. so much for that, then.
  8. oooh, this looks like fun! ok, well the town i (used to) go to school in, work in, and where most of my friends live is called ridgefield, and it's really small and residential and nice. i feel odd about saying it's upscale, but it really is. hoity-toity central, unfortunately. but i do love it, because it's home. mostly big houses separated by trees and forests and horse farms. but the main street is pretty cute and nice, when you're not being innundated by the local "misunderstood" suburban teens from the public school. the park is also quite nice when it's free of the teen riffraff. when i worked in town, i would eat lunch there a lot, just me and the squirrels. not much to really do here besides hang out in starbucks, the pizza place, or the park, or shop in the little stores. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ridgefield%2C_Connecticut the town my house is in is about 30 minutes away by car, and all i really do is sleep there and loaf around my house on weekends. it's a bit more down to earth, but geographically it's the second-biggest town in the state. it's got a very nice, pretty main street with lots of old houses, and our town hall has a nice movie theater in it. there's not much to do there either, i'm afraid. though i suppose there's not much to do in all of CT. mostly we hang out in starbucks, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newtown%2C_Connecticut i consdier my home to be a cluster of a bunch of towns, though, because everything is connected by I84, and you can be in any of about 9 towns in a matter of 10 minutes, all with different things in them.
  9. i bought the deluxe version of the across the universe soundtrack yesterday. i'm still on the hunt for the verve's urban hymns and the strokes' first impressions of earth (which i want to physically own rather than just digitally and on vinyl). but for FIOE, i want the cardboard CD case variety, because it comes with little postery things :D.
  10. i have a random coldplaying thought... i have a friend who makes the :dozey: face exactly. it's so shockingly similar that i half thing they must have modeled that smiley after her. can you tell i'm bored to death? :P
  11. ^hahaha, definitely. and chris really needs to go pants shopping, methinks. i hope they ditch the all-black thing for the next album/tour and just wear whatever they feel like again. i miss the novelty t-shirts, particularly "THE BEST DAMN SAWMILLERS IN THE COUNTY" one :laugh2:
  12. ack, i forgot emily, lore, rolle, etc etc...i knew i was going to do that. btw, my list is in no specific order. just so you know.
  13. it's disgusting, that's what it is. and people wonder why we have all these school shootings and the murder rate is so high. and some people argue "well, if EVERYONE had a gun then once they saw a wacko getting ready to go on a rampage, then someone would just shoot him and have done with it." WHAT?! that's still murder, and it wouldn't solve anything because then if everyone had a gun then every wacko would have a gun and we'd get more of these horrid massacres and more people being like "i thought he was just about to kill someone, so i killed him first." absurdity. and even without a liscense, it's so insanely easy to get guns. i could go out and buy three right now, no problem. and not just hunting rifles, etc: you can get assault weapons and AK 47's etc really easily. i think cops can be armed, though. [/off topic rant]
  14. aww, you guys are so nice! i feel odd making a list because i'm undoubtedly leaving loads of people out, but here it goes anyway. i can edit it later: annie semy justin anna nina briggins mimi tracie david rachael oh, i know i'm leaving some out...
  15. ahh, i get it. i was really confused there! either way, i'm really sorry to hear about that, mimi . i'm glad to hear you're ok, though.
  16. i missed something as well. is "giving out free sweets" a british way of saying "mugged"? i've never heard it before. i almost got mugged on albert dock in liverpool when i was with a friend, but the guy was trying to get us was doing it in broad daylight in a huge crowd, so my friend and i just slipped into the crowd and ran the other way. basically he asked us if he could borrow some money and we said we didn't have any to give, and he said that was OK because he was going to take it. and we bolted. two nights ago when i was watching across the universe, i noticed that when jude is on albert dock towards the end, that's pretty much precisely the place that it happened. i didn't notice it the first time i saw it!
  17. i certainly didn't expect it to be the first one out, even if i didn't expect it to win  as long as high and dry is one of the winners, i think i can deal.
  18. i will never, ever be able to pronounce "Z" as "zed." it will forever and always be "zee" in my mind, even when i'm living over there! i'll say "bloody" and "wanker" and "post" and "crisps" and pronounce "figures" and "figgers" rather than "fig-yers" and spell things with "u's" and "s's" etc etc, but "zed" is the one thing that i'll never be able to wrap my head around :P hmm. one day when the morning hair is particularly bad, i can try to take a picture, but i'm too bleary and cranky in the morning to promise that. suffice it to say that it's an afro of these insanely huge curls that sticks out like wire in all directions. then i attack it with the flat iron and can go out in public. haha, that hairdo sounds pretty amazing though! from that pic, though, your morning hair really isn't bad at all. i think my brother might take the cake for best morning hair, though. i've never seen more gravity-defying hair in my life. the fact that it's red makes it funny as well.
  19. you should see my hair when i get up :dozey:. then we'll talk. it's so 3D and wild that it would literally pop out of the picture on the screen. and of course any mention of the word "zombie" makes me think of shaun of the dead: SHAUN: Don't say that. ED: What? SHAUN: The Zed word. Don't say it. ED: Why not? SHAUN: Because it's ridiculous. so don't call yourself a zombie because it's ridiculous :laugh3:
  20. hmm. i figure it makes sense that the B-sides are just tracks off CD2, but before we knew what they were going to be i was hoping for unheard material. down is the new up is one of my absolute faves, though. it skyrocketed to the near top of some of my favorite RH songs of all time. 4 minute warning was my second fave on CD2.
  21. meh. sulk is out :shifty: bones this time for me.
  22. :stunned: that is NOT good. reminds me slightly of one of britney's incidents. ooh, she looks pissed in those earlier pics, though. i've got to say that i love her hair, however :D
  23. ^ooh, me too! a lot of those lyrics fit my position and thoughts right now. i like the demo better than the offical version, actually.
  24. that hat is most DEFINTIELY inside out! that tag looks itchy, though, so i guess i understand. and he's carrying kind of a girly bag...but he's in new york and i'm not therrrrre  (just kidding :P) i'm glad his left hand isn't really visible in the pics; otherwise there would be a field day if he wasn't wearing the wedding ring again.
  25. ohhh too many. but let's see, i'll put out a few. home, home, where i wanted to go. right now i very much want to go home (i'm at uni...bleh), so it fits right now. but i've always loved that lyric...there's something about the idea of home that gets me. i regard my home as a hodge-podge mix of my house, my old school (which i'm very attatched to; long story) and the surrounding towns. the streets you're walking on, a thousand houses long i just really love the image of a house-lined street at night with streetlamps and the windows in the houses glowing and someone walking down the middle of the street. for you i'd bleed myself dry so devotional. gah, i love it. pretty much all of "see you soon." i love the little story in there. it's my favorite song of theirs lyrically. lights will guide you home again, the idea of home. and lights. i like lights. i know i should stay, but i don't have the stomach to i don't know, but i think it's because i know what he's talking about there. write your name in the summer sky i love the image. it makes me think of a perfect summer day. how infinite is space? good question. :P ohh, there are just too many! pretty much everything from "careful where you stand" and "the scientist" as well. i can't WAIT for the lyrics of VLVOD.
