LRLRL D/LOAD LINK! Plus REACTIONS/RESPONSE to LRLRL Live Album
The album is amazing! I really love The Hardest Part / Postcards, been waiting for that piano version for ages, though every track is great. And wow, that must be the best live version of Viva La Vida I've ever heard! Chris' voice seems to be pretty much flawless on all these songs. Thanks for the alternate 320kbps links! :D

Advice on song structure for one of my songs?
Here's a sneak peak of a song i'm working on called Silver Snow, almost entirely guitar based: Silver Snow - Sneak Peak (1:22) http://www.sendspace.com/file/8gchxl If you're interested

Star Trek
I want to see this! :wideeyed: Hopefully next wednesday, but it looks really good from the trailers. I wasn't really a fan of the series or films, though i wouldn't say i disliked them, but I'm glad so many people who havn't really watched Star Trek in the past like this film so far! I havn't been able to find one negative review so far (not on rottentomatoes.com, at least).

Starsailor - Tell Me It's Not Over = The Hardest Part?
I really like this song, but I didn't notice the similarity until you mentioned it. It does sound quite coldplay-ish in general, though.

Advice on song structure for one of my songs?
http://trig.com/semyingle You can listen to 8 demos / samples here :D For some reason though the player only shows the 6 middle songs, but there is a song hidden at the top and at the bottom of the playlist. So you can use the skip forward and skip backward buttons to get to those.

Advice on song structure for one of my songs?
Thanks for the comments! :nice: I'm uploading some other demos to trig.com, so i'll post the link to that soon. Most of them were recorded and mixed last year which means that they are generally less polished in one way or another, and some contain quite a lot of mistakes, so they don't really sound as crisp as the one I've posted here. And I've only recently begun using Session Drummer 2, so alot of the drum parts in some of the songs are out of sync or just plain awful :P.

Advice on song structure for one of my songs?
Oh man, thanks guys! I wansn't expecting so much positive feedback. It really means a lot that you like it so far :nice: Tnspieler1012, thanks for the ideas, i'll be exploring some of those :D. I was thinking of having another 15 second guitar solo after the first section with lyrics ends, before that distant sounding piano part. But yes, the thing is that the song doesn't have that conventional pop / rock arangement (with well defined verses and choruses), so its pretty hard to know when i've landed on an arrangenment that's satisfying enough and one that explores all the ideas equally. I'll get experimenting with that though. Thanks for the compliments, 2732! Up until now I didn't really think it was any good at all, at least not compared to other stuff that i've done. But thanks, its awesome that you like it :D. I have a few other songs that I could post, but none of them are as well mixed or produced than this one, except for one which I wrote for someone's birthday, and i should really ask permission before i post that here. I'll see what i can dig up, but they're mostly just piano only demos. I know i really should add basslines here and there, but I like to build melodies without having to rely on the bass too much at first. I'll add it later after i've layed everything else down, but i think it'll end up being quite subtle. I find that the final things sounds a lot more dense and interesting when i do it that way, but that's just my weird way of doing things :P. Anyway thanks for the feedback :nice:. Any more comments would be very welcome

Advice on song structure for one of my songs?
Hey, Well I don't usually make new threads about my music because I find it a little daunting, and anything I do post, usually is a 1 minute long sample in other threads. But I'm kinda in need of some advice for one in particular that I havn't finished... its a sister track to another song with carries on the same idea, kind of like what LIT 1 is to LIT 2. Anyway, I'm having some trouble finding a decent structure of the different sections in this song, and the transitions between them. It's also turned out to be one of the most experimental sounding things that i've done, but that wasn't really the intention. And I think its lacking enough hooks to make it sound catchy. So can anyone give me a bit of advice as to how i can make it more appealing, maybe by rearranging parts of it, or adding more guitar solo sections or lyrics? I have more lyrics for this song but I was going to use them for the other 'main' track that carries on the final piano/ guitar section in the song. Anyway, you can download the incomplete version of the song below: http://www.sendspace.com/file/hrddne It's called Forever More for now, and its missing a drum section near the end, and of course plenty of other things. It's around 5:00 long at the moment. The only lyrics are: Time soars Over our shoulders And under the oceans And Forever More Never be sure What comes after the curtain fall Don't think that we'll be alright Just 'cause you think you know Thanks in advance for any comments - you can hear some more demos here: http://trig.com/semyingle Semy

Mew
I'm really looking forward to the new album :D. I kinda hope its more 'Frengers' than 'Glass Handed Kites'. BTW for any Mew fans who love the song 156 like I do (it's pretty much one of my favourite songs by them), I've mixed a more "straight forward" version of it, one that has a more radio friendly arrangement and has a slightly shorter runtime. If you're interested to hear it you can download it here: Mew - 156 (Zemy101's Cut) Format: 320kbps MP3 Runtime: 4:02 (original was 4:50) Enjoy!

Fashion etc.
Meh, I won't let you get away with it when you're over here, you know. :P But in the mean time, i'll definitely be encouraging it  BUY IT :wideeyed: (but seriously though if you don't buy anything clothes-related for the next few months it's probably doable :P)

Fashion etc.
If you end up with enough money by the summer, I think you should splash out on this one. I think its the best for the simplicity of the clockface: And if not, the white fossil is quite nice (although a darker colour would make it a little easier on the eyes), and they're a good make :nice:

Pokemon
I used to love pokemon :P. I did play the games, which is how i first got into it, but then i ended up being more of a card collector, even though i've only kept some of my most precious ones. And i also used to watch the show religiously for about 2 years . I think pokemon was more than a craze for me - it was pretty much my life. I'll try to post pictures of my "shiny" collection of cards if i can find it :cheesy: ... i feel nostalgic every time i find one of those lying around somewhere :wacky: edit: and the first 150 ftw :P

Neil Buchanan In Line To Co Produce
I wiki'd him too :P I had no idea he was involved in music, let alone in a rock band, or a producer. But yes, it does seem a bit too random to be true, really.

Big Scoop: NEW COLDPLAY SITE
:stunned:  I can't believe I freaked out so much over this, it's kind of embarrassing :P It was so awesome, though :wacky: I'm looking forward to all the excitement which will precede the new album, too!

Neil Buchanan In Line To Co Produce
What the hell!? :freak: I used to love Art Attack! :stunned: I swear this guy was like, the reason i got into art in the first place, so him working with coldplay would be just AWESOME. :wideeyed: He's kind of a legend in my book. I'm not really sure whether I believe this, though :P EDIT: Hmm, maybe he could have a hand in doing the artwork for LP5... :cheesy:

Coldplay Tokyo show to be screened on MTV | Watching Party! (27th February 2009)
 Sorry, couldn't help but notice that one :P It really sucks that they didn't air the whole thing though. I was really looking forward to a good quality version of the hardest part on piano, in particular  Damn MTV. I hope the other performances surface somehow, although it's unlikely that they will, unfortunately :bigcry:

Coldplay snubbed by MTV in 'Greatest Album Ever' search
Well really, this should say it all. Not that a silly MTV greatest of all time list should really matter, but at the end of the day, this kind of thing is completely subjective, especially when you are mostly basing your opinion off whether you like the artist or not despite the impact they may have had on the music scene or whatever.

Bono's Coldplay Envy
An article that I'm sure Chris would find flattering: Bono's Coldplay envy Wednesday, 25 February 2009 Bono thinks Chris Martin is "one of the most important meldoists" in music. The U2 frontman admits his band worry about the threat posed by their rivals, including Chris' band Coldplay and Las Vegas rockers The Killers. Bono said: "In our heads we're up against Coldplay and The Killers. You've got to keep an eye on the youth. "Coldplay are such an extraordinary band with such song writing talent. I think Chris Martin is one of the most important melodists since Noel Gallagher, since Ray Davies or since Paul McCartney. He's in the line of great British melodists. I love the fact that The Killers want to get their songs on the radio too." Despite a career spanning 33 years, the 'Get On Your Boots ' singer says the quartet are "constantly fighting for our lives" to keep people interested in them. He added to BBC Radio 1: "A lot of people have a U2 album. Why would they want another one is a very good question. "We have to fight very hard to explain why we think it's worth coming along for the ride with us. That's how we feel." The group's 12th studio album, 'No Line On The Horizon', is released on 2 March. http://www.myparkmag.co.uk/articles/entertainment/bonos-coldplay-envy---.html
