Main site feedback
Thanks for the feedback so far :) There was a feed for the forums and Twitter last year but I took it off because of the slow page loading times but it should be fine now and there are always new plugins so I think those will suffice and hopefully there will be something that slots in nicely. There's always that chance there is too much detail or it's over complicated. It's certainly more vibrant with the new banner and background and it appears to have a good balance then, according to opinions. Wikicoldplay will make a comeback at one point. It's pricey to migrate the database to Wordpress which is what needs doing and requires a bit of spare time to get it running again. Hopefully i'll be able to do it around the middle of this year. Main focus atm being on the mobile app. Writing wise, we've got writers. One is writing a lengthy piece atm, the other is away with real world stuff. It's very quiet Coldplay wise atm so it's no rush on that but more varied content is what i'm aiming for in the near future :) Very colourful is good and should match the next era, based on what my assumptions are!

[X10Y] The meaning of X and Y
Warning Sign - You are about to travel back 10 years, to 2005. Get in the DeLorean, quick! Chris Martin has been talking about the mysterious reasons behind the name of Coldplay’s upcoming new album ‘X&Y’ and how his band missed out on a huge money bonus from EMI for delivering it late. Coldplay’s new album, the follow-up to 2002’s 16 million selling ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’, will be entitled ‘X&Y’ and will be released by Parlophone Records on June 6. Frontman Chris Martin has revealed where the record’s name came from.
“X and Y is the mathematical formula used when you don’t know the answer.”

“But, it’s also like black and white, or hope and despair, or optimism and pessimism. Everywhere you look there’s a tension of opposites.”
He went on to reveal that the delay in the record’s release (due to the band not being entirely satisfied with the tracks included) not only caused a dip in their record company EMI’s share price, but also meant that the band themselves missed out on a hefty bonus. “Deadlines be damned,” he explained, “It was all to do with fiscal years and shareholders anyway. Once we forgot about the money we were free to push ourselves to the very limits and make the best album possible.” Chris Martin also confessed that he still often doubts his songwriting ability, something that caused problems when penning both ‘X&Y’ and its predecessor, which nearly spilt the band. “I still spend at least 60 per cent of my time thinking ‘I can’t write songs.’” He explained, “I don’t see myself as brilliantly talented, but lucky to have met the right combination of people who fit together like a jigsaw so you can’t see our individual shortcomings.” The delay of X&Y was also attributed to Chris' last minute attempt at adding the 'standout track of the album', much to the disliking of their record company:
The one benefit of time is that we’ve had a chance to wait for proper songs to land. The last song that’s on the album came out of a conversation I was having at home after we thought we’d finished. I explained that we were still missing that one song. I got really angry and aggressive and this song just came out in five minutes, and a week later it’s all done.

What a game! Unlucky Mike, the other way round ;) Mata's goal was insane and Stevie G gave us a farewell present! Dirty bastards, Skrtel should get a lengthy ban for the stamp at the end! After their game with Arsenal in 2 weeks of course :) 5 points away from top 4, brilliant performance :D

[X10Y] Tracklisting and album preview
Warning Sign - You are about to be taken back to 10 years ago, when British magazine, NME revealed the supposed tracklisting for Coldplay's third album, 'X&Y' and gave us a written preview of each song! Speculation over Coldplay’s forthcoming album has increased, with the emergence of a possible tracklisting. Although the album ‘X&Y’ is due out on June 6 and singer Chris Martin has told NME.COM he’s still tinkering with the record, The Sun have revealed a possible eleven song tracklist for the album. ‘X&Y’ could include: ‘Square One’ ‘What If’ ‘White Shadows’ ‘Fix You’ ‘X&Y’ ‘Speed Of Sound’ ‘A Message’ ‘Low’ ‘Let’s Talk’ ‘Swallowed In The Sea’ ‘Twisted Logic’ As previously reported by NME.COM, the band made their live return on March 12 in Los Angeles, where songs, ‘Square One’, ‘White Shadows’, ‘A Message’ and ‘What If’ all received their live debuts. Click more for individual track details >> 1. SQUARE ONE Cert to open live shows. Heavy feel with lots of guitars and haunting lyrics. Chris sings: “Is there anybody out there who is lost and lonely too?” 2. WHAT IF Best song on the album and one of the band’s best ever. Chris’s soft voice and piano are in full force. When the anticipated guitar sound kicks in, reminiscent of Yellow, the hair on my neck stood on end. A Sergeant Pepper ending. 3. WHITE SHADOWS: Gospel inspired with lots of organ and a very U2 sounding riff. Chris was listening to reggae great Jimmy Cliff when he wrote this. 4. FIX YOU: Church organ start reminded me of Procol Harum’s 1967 great A Whiter Shade of Pale. Cello and strings lead to an epic end to the five minute track. 5. X&Y: Heavily influenced by Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and Strawberry Fields from the Beatles. Starts with moving, soft vocals and strings. 6. SPEED OF SOUND: The first single. The opening piano reminded me of Clocks. Drummer Will shines and guitarist Jon adds riffs that Edge would be proud of. Very catchy. 7. A MESSAGE: Acoustic guitar and no doubt which Hollywood actress the songs’s message is meant for. Lyrics include the line: “I’m nothing without you, I’m nothing on my own.” 8. LOW: Big, festival sound. Will be great live with Guy’s thumping bass and loud mix of guitars, synth and drums. Massive ending makes it spine-tingling. 9. LET’S TALK: Opens with a melody borrowed from Kraftwerk, though Coldplay do it with guitars, not synths. For me, this is one of the album’s highlights. It’s got No1 single written all over it. Vocal reminded me of The Killers. 10. SWALLOWED IN THE SEA: This could easily be a massive single with its haunting lyrics, apparently about the loss of a loved one. Chris’s vocals are accompanied by a cello before the rest of the band kick in for a rousing finish. A touching, beautiful song. 11. TWISTED LOGIC: A sample of Coldplay when they are angry. The lyrics are about what might happen to the world in the future if we don’t look after our planet – or the people that live on it. ------- Which song sounds the best so far? :)

BBC Radio 1 to Cut Live Music and Festival Content
That's a shame. Predicting less Coldplay involvement for sure on Radio 1, also factoring the departure of Zane Lowe. Becoming a more global world day by day - UK's becoming a venue rather than a hub for music.

There was uproar when Jay-Z was playing. I'd expect it to be 3x more objection than that decision even

Chris Martin Hairstyle battle!
Simple question: Do you pick Chris Martin's hair as it is now (short) or the curly/messy Chris from circa-2006?! OR (Btw, Nettie uploaded that for those who remember. R.I.P)

[X10Y] The delay of 'X&Y' costs EMI over $500 million!
Warning sign - You are about to be transported back 10 years into the past! Coldplay have just announced their third album X&Y but all is not well with Coldplay and EMI's relationship. Record company EMI have hit out at Coldplay and cartoon band, Gorillaz for a fall in sales. Both of their albums were due out in the fourth quarter of 2004 but have failed to materialize. EMI said full-year profits to 31 March fell 13% to £141.9m. According to British newspaper, The Telegraph, the delay of Coldplay's album will account for a tremendous loss of £320m to the music company (Approx $500m). Chris Martin was having none of it though and furiously lashed out at EMI and the corporate group's shareholders: Coldplay were under intense scrutiny to get X&Y ready as soon as possible and it may still not be the finished article in their eyes. Only time will tell, as Coldplay's third album gets ready to hit the shelves!

Keane's Tim Rice-Oxley could have been Coldplay's keyboard player
10 years ago, as Coldplay were gearing up for world domination, shortly after the announcement of third album, 'X&Y', Keane's guitarist, Tim Rice-Oxley had revealed: He was close to being Coldplay's fifth member / keyboard player! Keane were still riding on the success of their debut album, called 'Hopes and Fears'. They were part of the many British 'indie' bands who were ruling the charts during the mid-noughties and the have frequently drawn comparisons to the sound of fellow British band, Coldplay. Speaking to Contact Music in 2005, Tim told us of the idea to become a Coldplay band mate, with his friend, Chris Martin. He also felt envious of Coldplay's success and wandered 'What If'? ------------------ Coldplay with five members and a keyboard player. History could have been very different indeed, if the idea had worked out!

[X10Y] Coldplay debut new 'X&Y' songs at LA secret show
Coldplay have always had a fondness for Los Angeles and choosing the City Of Angels in North America to kick off the X&Y era was a perfect base for their impending U.S. domination…. Warning sign – You are embarking on a trip, back to 10 years ago, when Coldplay performed their first gig of the X&Y era During the 60 minute secret show in Troubadour, located in Los Angeles, the band played four new songs, including opener “Square One”, “White Shadows”, and piano ballad “What If”. They also played a host of their biggest chart hits including “In My Place” and “Clocks”, ending with a crowd singalong of “Yellow”. At the start of the gig the band looked nervous, but by second song “In My Place” all four members were grinning at each other and looked glad to be back. Singer Chris Martin said: Martin was referring to the fact that although tickets for the gig were made available at 5pm from the venue on the day, the news leaked, meaning some fans were at the venue, waiting outside in the California sunshine from 8.30am to ensure their place. The show comes as the band ease themselves into playing again after a recording break of about 18 months. Last week the group did an open rehearsal for 40 friends and fans, and are also planning a top secret club gig in the UK in June to precede their massive arena dates.
