  9. I read this the past couple weeks. can'y guarantee it will make you feel any better, but it's good piece of existential psychology, and might help with your anxiety of the human condition. On a more personal note, the answer to your question is yes, everyone. The reason it may not seem as universal that many people have either comes to terms with their existence, or, more often, have repressed it with some illusion of immortality (after all it's impossible to fully conceive of nonexistence, because there's nothing to conceive). Personally, the very existence of conscious beings like ourselves seems like a counter-intuitive absurdity due to our assumptions about the nature of universe. I'm not sure whether you're religious or not, but it helps to understand that their's something oddly miraculous about life to begin with, and it's better to embrace the basic experiences of life than dwelling too much on your limitations (though it's important to come to terms with the whole memento mori - carpe diem smeer as well)
  10. some interesting portraits by Mark Demsteader http://www.panterandhall.com/cgi-bin/db-man/db.cgi?db=default&uid=default&mh=91&view_all_records=1&ExhibNum=Exh200

  12. just noticed this thread. No, Jonny's best guitar is his earliest guitar. His riffs in the AROBTTH were very simple and u2ish. Moses is about the best I can think of from that time. But his earlier arrangements are more detailed, complex and interesting. Shiver, Spies and High Speed are the best album examples from LPs, and the latter two were released in some form before parachutes. Bigger Stronger Brothers & Sisters Only Superstition Don't Panic Spies Trouble High Speed We Never Change Politik Clocks Amsterdam Moses Talk Lovers In Japan Strawberry Swing Bonus: Warning Sign Harmless Careful Where You Stand AROBTTH Easy to Please etc. etc. I know I cheated, but yeah...whatev.

  15. not sure why everyone's assuming it would be a closer. Don't the drums at the end make it pretty clear that it's not?
