Them Crooked Vultures
^^ i've decided i rather spend my $100 on going to laneway and seeing a whole variety of great bands who may go onto better things in the future, than seeing 3 guys who, lets admit despite their genius and brilliance, are well past their best.

Them Crooked Vultures
new album is up [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQ6arQ-qK34]YouTube- 01 ~ No One Loves Me & Neither Do I[/ame] not exactly the most exciting album.

The Beatles
i would encourage everyone (beatles fan or not) to read up on the history of the beatles because it is incredibly interesting. especially their time in Hamburg and their "Studio" Years. compulsory reading for any music fan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles_in_Hamburg - start here and read through. its not very detailed but gives you a good overview.

Big Day Out 2010
this will most probably mean Jet will end up playing during the day or on a smaller stage. that must be a massive blow to the ego. lol.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
does anybody know how long these shows have been going for? over 90mins or have they crossed 100mins? chili peppers have 9 albums under their belts yet they still never play more than 20 songs a night but the shows are over 2hrs every night. they make up the time with extended jamming and improvisation. how would muse fans feel about that? would most of you get bored watching the boys just jam? rather see more songs?

Radiohead is better than coldplay
if only thom had named one of his kids Orange, that comment would of been incredibly witty. so for now we'll just settle for... Moses and Noah??............:\.............

Albums of the Year 2009 *Now Closed*
mate correct me if i'm wrong. but didnt that album leak less than 24hrs ago? must be a really easy to digest concept album. and im interested to know why you put Trio in there also. cos despite not being a JM fan i really admired the Try! album but didnt know they were bringing out more stuff under that name.

Pearl Jam
i guess i might have exaggerated slightly with the intention of making a point more than anything else. i absolutely love The Fixer, its about the only song i pump up when im listening to the more commercial radio stations. on their S/T they sort of started developing that more upbeat sound and they've nailed it on this album and still sounded genuine and true. something imo U2 (and countless other bands who have been around for several decades) has failed to do over their last few albums.

Radiohead is better than coldplay
this thread is meant to be pointless and not serious. dont turn it into some kinky fetish thread.
-
Pearl Jam
^^ are you talking about from Backspacer or their entire catalogue? cos The Fixer would hardly rank amongst the top 50 PJ songs. but then again i can see why you only like that song, its quite a difference vibe from them. you should check out songs from their last album which was self-titled, its got a similar feel to it.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
i wish they would just add another 3 or 4 songs to their set. almost every band who have released 5 or more albums play 20+ song sets. even if they dont want to do more songs could they pleeeassseeee pleease please do Sing For Absolution.

Best U2 Album
Joshua Tree gets my vote, the first 5 songs on that album never cease to amaze me. Unforgettable Fire comes in at a close second.
-
Pearl Jam
^^ i think they cost $US18 each. should be uploaded onto their official website in a few weeks.

U2
just heard from a person who was at the MTV performance and he said that the place looked a little empty with only the 10 000 ticket holders inside so before the show started they opened up part of "The Wall" and let in the people who were watching from the outside. Live8 was held at the same venue and they had no restrictions in place and it went very smoothly.

Official Aussie Music Fan Thread
i agree with you. there's way too much crap being put on. that's why i recommend you listen to zan rowe and richard kingsmill, they play the best stuff. but i love sitting back on a weekend and listening to sarah howell's show for 4hrs without feeling the need to change the station even once.

Grizzly Bear...
they've announced 3 shows in sydney in mid-january playing some very very intimate venues as part of the annual Sydney Festival. unfortunately thats the one week of the summer i will be away so i will miss out on them :( hope to see them back here in the near future.
