  1. check the multimedia section in a few minutes and all the youtube clips should be up
  2. yeah ive been using that mediatraffic site for quite few years now also and very few albums have had sales of over a million in their first week. especially since file sharing programs have hit the internet. i believe chili peppers stadium arcadium was not far off as they went to number one in 29 countries in their first week i woodnt be surprised is CP top the charts in just as many. do people think that VLV will beat rush of blood in terms of worldwide sales i think it had about 13 million or so which will most probably go past 15 million this year.
  3. i think fall out boys cover of michaels jacksons "beat it" is a crime against humanity. this cover by celine dion isnt far off either!!
  4. does anybody know which football club the boys support because i had a dream where i was in the front row of a gig with a man utd shirt on and me and chris got into an argument about how good they were (or werent) i wonder if thom yorke dreams about coldplay?!?
  5. for thse of you in australia the bands performance is being broadcast tonight on the comedy channel at 9-30.
  6. i'm sure we're all taking him out of context here. the title of this thread does him no justice
  7. i think brian eno's just over the moon about making his first decent album in 17years (the last being achtung baby in 1991). i wouldn't say that X&Y was over produced rather it was badly produced. and any half decent producer would've told the band that they needed to stop doing things the way they did in their last album. personally im still not sold on eno's credibility in 21st century music even though VLV is a top album. but i am grateful that they didnt get rick rubin (even rhcp dont want him anymore)
  8. ^^ WOWOWOWOW THAT LOOKS INCREDIBLE people shouldn't forget that they are still in the middle of their promo tour so a 16 song show is still pretty decent. i am more than certain that once the proper world tour starts we will be getting full two hour shows with hopefully a fair bit of improvisation. and if that stage is just the incomplete set then i cant wait to see what they're gonna pull out in philly in mid july.
  9. yeh i agree. i saw both chili peppers and killers right near the end of their world tours and both were much better than i expected after watching footage from earlier on in the tours
  10. their albums from best to worst in my opinion 1.Vitalogy 2. Ten 3. No Code 4. VS 5.Pearl Jam 6. Binaural 7.Riot Act 8. Lost Dogs 9. Yield dvd's best to worst 1. Touring Band 2. Immagine In Cornice 3. Live At The Garden 4. Single Video Theory Eddie Vedder is about the only musician i would consider a bit of a hero.
  11. here is something i found while browsing around youtube. this is clocks and the amazing thing is the quality of the audience shot! looks almost pro http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=Zur-QfFzMoM
  12. i was just surprised to see it get all the way to number one. is that due to the quality of the song or massive hype thats been pumped into this album especially this song. would it still of been this successful if it hadnt been for that iTunes ad? i can barely name a single song by a british rock band that has got this high on the charts.
  13. Which type of venue do you feel best suits coldplay and their music arenas (indoors capacity between 12 000 and 25 000) or stadiums (venues usually used for football or rugby capacity over 30 000). i've heard both guy and chris admit they're not ready to play stadiums and personnally i agree with them. would love to hear from people who have seem them at both types. for the sake of the argument lets ignore outdoor gigs cos lets face it which band doesnt look and sound awesome out in the open. and once again congrats to the boys on getting to number one!!
  14. its just been announced on the main page that the band has reached the number one spot on the billboard charts after a long climb. We were pleased enough when Viva La Vida reached Number 2 in last week's Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Now it's climbed to Number 1. Your reactions?
  15. well congrats to the boys its officially the number one song in america right now which is an incredible achievement for any rock act let alone a brit rock act. great to see that the americans are finally listening to and loving some great music.
  16. what the hell is politick doing sooo far down the setlist. dont they realise that its one of the best "firestarters" in modern rock. any band would give anything to have a song like that to kick off the gig. oh by the way check the multimedia section ive uploaded all the parts of the doco that was shown on max music channel last week. not a perfect recording but its all there in good quality
  17. my only concern about gigs at wembley now is the density of the moshpit. i understand that there are dozens of safety issues and so on but i really do miss the look of wembley from the Queen gigs and Live Aid and many many others that ive seen on dvd. i watched HAARP and there were massive gaps on the ground which looked horrible from my point of view. there were only 70000 at the Muse gigs (65000 i believe at the gig they put on dvd) so i guess that 86000 means that they must of stuffed in more people into the pit or was that due to the "in the round" format of the gig and did any record the highlights package that was played on the radio on monday? anyone find any links to it?
  18. haha dont worry i have already recorded the show and its on my hard drive all ready to be uploaded on to rapidshare. i said that in my first post. if i wasnt in the middle of a my exam period i would've had it up yesterday but instead i will do it all tomorow. the file is about 450mb all up and i think it ended up being in widescreen. two downsides to my recording, first there are a couple of info bars that pop up at the bottom for about 30secs at the start and second its in .vob  sorry peeps
  19. ^^ whats the name of the station? is it available online? and whats the frequency incase one of us live somewhere near you? any possibility of a recording?
  20. just out of curiousity do people think that coldplay shows are better in stadiums than in arena sized venues?
  21. ^^ yes the guy who narrated it is Chit Chat who in my opinion knows as much about music as someone who has spent the last 25yrs under a rock. but him aside it was an ok doco. i did record the whole thing in dvd quality and will post it in the multimedia section sometime this weekend. there were a couple of hickups but otherwise it turned out quite well. the channel is replaying the show this sunday night at 8-30. the interviews didnt exactly tell us anything new besides guy admitting that there not ready to play stadiums ....yet that sort of honesty is always refreshing to hear. and they indirectly implied that they did struggle with the recording of X&Y. did anyone else record it?
  22. i too have noticed chris paying much more attention jonny than the other two. the band does lack some chemistry on stage and thats evident during all their shows. this might seem superficial but the mere fact that they stand so far apart during their concerts shows that lack of chemistry. which is why i like it when they all come down to the front of the stage and do don't panic and til kingdom come, its something unique and interesting and somewhat fun to watch. if you ever watch the chili peppers perform there always tight knit and talking to each other even if there performing on massive 150ft stages. but those guys have been together for over 15yrs now, so its a bit different but at the end of the coldplay are a pop band and like all other pop bands the frontman will always get the most attention followed by the guitarist. and the fact of the matter is that guy and will make up the rhytmn section of the band so unless you have a very good understanding on music you have little or no idea of how important and integral they are too the sound of coldplay.
  23. i have an exam tomorow so i'm not entirely sure if i can record the show on my dvd recorder. but i am more than certain that in typical pay tv fashion it will be repeated half a dozen times over the coming week. as soon as i do get it onto dvd i'll be sure to put on here to share. i've never uploaded anything onto any filesharing sites (even though i download from them daily) rapidshare is free upto 100MB per file isnt it? have other aussie fans noticed how crazy EVERY single radio station has gone over this new coldplay album. nova just played the entire album in full at midday. triple J (who snubbed X&Y completely) have played almost every song off the album. triple m had that full one hour interview. and violet hill's been getting pretty high rotation on the other stations. my only fear is that this will lead to the band becoming massively popular (U2-esque) forcing them to do a stadium tour as opposed to just sticking to the more intimate medium sized arena's. i would really appreciate if somebody else took on the burden of recording the show because im drowning in uni work.
  24. just heard this song on triple j radio and the host asked people to give feedback on the song. and a very large majority of people loved it. mind you this radio station blatantly refused to play anything off X&Y because they and their listeners hated it soo much. so it seems like songs such as cemetries have won back some of their older alternative music fans. personally i was very impressed by the song but did find the music slightly repetitive.
  25. so any video footage up on youtube or anything?
