Easily the best song on the album for me. Absolutely love it. Hope they play it live.

I'm probably going to get shot for saying this... but I really don't think the album is anything special. I hope it grows on me but at the moment alot of the songs on the album just don't compare to songs on previous albums. I like DAAHF and SS is ok but other than that the other songs just don't do it for me. LIT is annoyingly repetative and yes I know my username is LIT :wink3: Most of the songs on this album are quite weak lyrically and the songs aren't very catchy except for SS and DAAHF. VLV is ok but again nothing special. Theres no Fix You, The Scientist, Yellow, Don't Panic, Clocks on this album and what I mean by that is no song that makes me a little emotional when listening to it. Anyway I know alot of people will disagree with me. I just hope this album is a grower. At the moment I would rate this album a 6 out of 10. Does anyone else feel a little let down?

I find all these negative comments quite funny. Coldplay are getting slammed by alot of critics. Not sure why...but maybe because they are in the soft rock category or maybe Chris Martin just doesn't have enough charisma of what a lead singer of a rock band should have. You gotta have a laugh :laugh3: I just can't wait to buy the album tomorrow and I will be listening to it all day long. I hope I'm gonna like it :cool:

Good to see someone with as much will power as me...and yeah VH is much better than VLV.

I haven't heard the other songs as I am going to wait till the album comes out in OZ. But I am a little worried that alot of people think VLV is there fav. Your right about it being a cheesy song. I give it about a 6.5 out of 10. The song is nothing special at all. I am hoping the other songs are so much better otherwise I will be disapointed with the album.

I almost cracked... I'm happy to listen to VLV, Lost, VH and LIT until the album comes out. This is soooooooooooo hard though I so want to listen to it :veryangry:

"Coldplay have already surpassed U2" You have gotta be kiddin me. U2 are and will always be the best band in the world. Coldplay are no where near U2's caliber at the moment and have a long way to go to be where U2 is today and that is a legendary rock band. I suggest you buy U2's best of albums and you will see that U2 have so many great songs compared to Coldplays few. Bonos voice is ten times greater than Chris Martins and The Edge is a superior guitar player to Jon Buckland. U2 can fill out stadiums holding 100,000 plus people where as Coldplay are lucky to get 20 - 30 thousand. Coldplay have a long way to go to surpass U2 and they may get there in the end but they need to write alot more great songs and anthems to surpass them.

IMO this song is better than VLV and right up there with VH. Anymore leaks anyone ???

Are you kidding me!!! Achtung Baby and Joshua Tree are in my opinion U2's best 2 albums and being a U2 groupie myself I know that most U2 fans rate Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby in their top two.

Viva La Vida is alright...I think I prefer Violet Hill though...maybe I need a few more listens.

If it was the second single why would itunes have already released it...maybe a mistake on their part..who knows :\

What a stupid article. It all comes down to quality of songs on the album. The album title has nothing to do with its success. If the songs are classical, the album will be as well.

All I can say is that Violet Hill is a better first single than what Speed Of Sound was to X&Y. Its great that Coldplay are trying to think outside of the square and this song is fresh and innovative in Coldplay terms. Bring on VLV :cool:

It looks like Coldplay have reinvented themselves with Violet Hill and hopefully the whole album is going to be fresh and experimental. This kinda reminds me when U2 reinvented themselves with Achtung Baby and Achtung Baby is argueably U2s best album. I can't wait to hear the rest of the songs. I'm hoping for a louder, heavier album. I have a feeling this album is going to impress everyone and not only the Coldplay fans.

I like the song...I reckon its a grower. To me it looks like Coldplay have reinvented themselves so I am hoping the rest of the album will have a couple more surprises for us. I give the song a 7 out of 10.

I luv the artwork guys. The Viva La Vida should have been written in black in my opinion so we can read it better. Other than that I can't wait to download it. I'm really excited :o
