Paradise live was as epic as I thought it was gonna be, while offering a unique live feeling to it as well! I was taken aback by the power of Jonny´s riff in the end: superb! I loved it and can´t wait to see this live myself.

Will the article be available to be read online by everyone though?

Thanks for replying. I am baffled but your explanation though..surely one would think something digital would sound better well on a CD? Any reason why it should sound better on vinyl? I do hope to soon get a turntable and find out for myself though:)

So anyone can comment on the live version? Chris definitely seemed to say "The summer will set to rise". Let me hear what you think and I will revise the lyrics on page one

Technicolour: Thanks so much for your post. Are the portable turntables just as good as ordinary turntables? What I mean is : would I get a high quality sound to my earphones? I don´t have space for speakers at all (I live in a small apartment) and as I like to hear music , I prefer to use earphones anyway not to disturb my neighbors. Also I prefer portable gear as I probably will be moving in a year or so. Any links in Amazon for the products you mentioned? I hope it´s not too much bother but I am an absolute amateur when it comes to turntables. Thanks again! Also this would be the right place to ask. I read somewhere, not sure if it was here on the forum or somewhere else, that all albums nowadays have the same digital master, so the quality difference between vinyl and cd does not exist anymore as it did in the past. Can someone confirm/deny this?

I think for Coldplay to incorporate hip-hop in MX was and is a huge risk. Davide Rossi plays a real string instrument by the way :) And I don´t ever think Coldplay will be as experimental as Radiohead: they are treading a very fine balance with experimentation and still writing a catchy tune.

Substitute slow with intimate :) I imagine a lot of people would dislike this song , were it not devoid of synths and such. But I am ready to be proven wrong if I have misunderstood.

A lot of liking right here on these threads and look at how good it is doing it out there in the charts :) Sometimes all the negativity on this forum can make one lose perspective I know.

I don´t understand the call to back to basics either. I for one would not want an album full of slow depressing songs (I love their early albums but some of those b-sides were downright depressing). If MX offers a good balance of songs, including intimate and lavish ones then I think it is perfect.

Just to get it straight...for my own curiosity. Everyone who is praising Up In Flames because it´s slow and only feature few organic instruments. Would you all like an album exclusively made up of songs like this?

Well no reason to pre-order on iTunes when she already bought the album as limited edition. I caved in and bought Paradise upon release date: figured it was just $ 1.

It surely does not seem to be about suicide at all to me..."I know the sun will set to rise". Maybe some people just want Coldplay to be tragic!

Forget Roman Numerals Q. Hello Oracle! Here's a question about: M.M.I.X. "MMIX is Roman Numerals for 2009." - Wikicoldplay.com. Does it have anything to do with 2009? Also, whats your favorite song on the album? Thanks! The Oracle replies: It doesn't stand for the year 2009 so ignore that entry. I can see why people assume that of course. As you may have noticed, there were press interviews last week so soon enough details about the album will filter through the media but I do know that when that question was asked, the answer given had nothing to do with Roman Numerals but in fact a crew member. I won't spoil the journalist's fun by repeating the answer. If it doesn't make the final printed interview, I shall let you know! I haven't heard the whole album yet but PoC is certainly a front runner at the moment. I am loving everything I have heard by the way.

Go figure. The newly released live Up In Flames is even more simple and repetitive than Paradise but alas no backlash about those lyrics. :confused: I have given up understanding the criteria behind some criticism....
