  1. If I were a woman, I would go lesbian for Florence Welch. Thankfully I'm a man instead.
  2. Hmmm...they could have just done a last-minute schedule change. I mean, Coldplay WAS in Cupertino today, so they'd have to fly across the whole country after mid-day on a 5-hour flight for the taping of a show that's taped a few hours before it actually airs.
  3. TV Guide is wrong a surprisingly frequent amount of times.
  4. TOMORROW NIGHT. NOT TONIGHT. http://www.colbertnation.com/
  5. Woohoo, Christina! We're some of the very few people who didn't have to travel to Europe to hear CE. :laugh3: My two-year anniversary is soon approaching. I said this on Twitter a few days ago, but "Prague" is totally a better song than half of Mylo Xyloto. :laugh3: And you guys know damn well how much I hate "Prague".
  6. YouTube users are the idiot scum of the earth and are blind worshipers of anything and everything, yet the top-viewed video for PoC currently has a 30% dislike ratio, way higher than anything else you'll find by Coldplay. That says quite a bit about the casual reception. I didn't like "Lhuna" either but that didn't make it onto an album (did it ever even get a proper release aside from low-quality rips from the RED site?)
  7. Didn't post it here yesterday, but the music video for "No Light, No Light" was shot yesterday, so that will be the official 2nd single. (Remember that WTWGM was just an album teaser and not released as a radio single.) Seeing how intense that song is, it's a sharp contrast from Coldplay's tactics for singles. As much as I hate Mylo Xyloto, it has a couple good tracks that I think would really appeal to the Coldplay fans of old. Instead, Coldplay is releasing the incredibly commercial "Princess of China" as its next single to follow up on their first 2 shitty synth-pop singles from the album, and will probably go for DLIBYH as their 4th single. Florence, on the other hand, got the easily appealing "Shake It Out" out of the way early and is going straight for NLNL instead of the fun poppy songs in the front half of the new album. ...yes, this post WAS just another way for me to vent about MX in a random thread. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to immerse myself in Ceremonials' amazingness once again.
  8. Exactly. You'd wind up on Tosh.O instead. :laugh3: Coldplay has done plenty of fun videos in the past that happened to be quirky and silly while also remaining good videos. Life in Technicolor 2 is a great example. This...not so much.
  9. Charlie Brown is the only one of these that doesn't fall into the garbage void of "Bottom 5 Worst Coldplay Songs Ever" so it wins by default.
  10. The only thing gayer than the Paradise video is the song itself (as well as anyone who gets butthurt by me calling the song/video gay).
  11. I'm so glad something GOOD leaked this week. ;) Will have my verdict some time later in the week.
  12. Fans in the Coldplay section are up in arms over the first negative reviews, having deluded themselves into thinking the only people who could possibly dislike the album are bitter "fake fans" on this forum and that everyone in the professional industry sees it as the same flawless gem they do.
  13. According to NME, Mylo Xyloto is better than the new Fleet Foxes album. Which is total BS. :laugh3:
  14. Charlie Brown Us Against the World Up With the Birds I guess U.F.O. is okay too but it's sorta just "there" as a breather between the terrible tracks before and after, so it's forgettable.
  15. Finally voted in the poll and settled on a 3/10. Score dropped a bit because I've decided I don't like "Up in Flames" (one of those just-because-it's-mellow-doesn't-mean-it's-good songs) anymore. So the only 3 tracks that shall remain in my iTunes are "Charlie Brown", "Us Against the World", and "Up With the Birds". For the record, UWTB sounds better as a standalone track. Because the album flows so horribly, it feels more out-of-place at the end than it should.
  16. I voted 4/10 on this poll yesterday but today I decided I didn't like "Up in Flames" anymore thanks to the horrid drum machine and repetitive lyrics and the fact that it's basically a crappy version of "Fix You", so I'd like to change my vote to a 3/10. :D
  17. Like I've said, I'll still see them if they're at a festival I'm attending (assuming there isn't an amazing act playing opposite them, unlike at Lolla where I totally skipped Coldplay and have no regrets) because at least there's plenty of other acts I can catch who are worth my money. But at their standard arena/stadium shows? Forget it.
  18. DLIBYH had the makings of a good pop track but it's too much of a cluttered mess with random noise. Charlie Brown remains the only pure pop effort here that I have any affection for.
  19. "Chinese Sleep Chant" is way better than this trash. (CSC is leagues better than "Yes", the drivel I have to sit through in order to reach CSC in the first place.)
  20. Read your whole review. Agree with almost every bit, except I still can't stand Major Minus after all the time. I'm glad we'll both be spending our money next year on other bands' concerts. Bands who both charge less outrageous prices and still cater to their most loyal fans.
  21. I think U.F.O. stands out more than it should because it's basically a "breather" between the incredibly divisive tracks that surround it, and for people like me who hate those divisive tracks in question, it is extremely welcome. However, it feels like it would have been a B-side on an older album, and I think UATW is a far more memorable acoustic number.
  22. Already done, my friend. I have at least a dozen bands I would currently place ahead of them, probably more. Coldplay had begun losing me with Viva but I chose to stick with them because they still had redeeming qualities in my eyes. Now they've lost me altogether and I can't even consider Coldplay as one of my favorite bands anymore.
  23. Now that I've heard the actual song, I'm glad they kept Florence away, as well as Regina Spektor, PJ Harvey, Annie Clark, etc. They gave Rihanna a deservedly shit song to work with. :):):)
  24. I said Rihanna isn't even one of the top 5 reasons why I hate this song. I feel I should list those 5 reasons: - Terrible synth usage that's even more overbearing than in Paradise - Aforementioned synths completely bury any actual instruments, making 3/4 of Coldplay members useless - Even that 4th Coldplay member - Chris - is barely noticeable on this song as he has the minority of vocal parts - Shit lyrics that are either for toddlers ("I wanna be a princess!") or just lazy as hell ("Lalalalalala oooooooooh") - It's Coldplay writing an R&B song, for crying out loud Rihanna is Reason #6. :laugh3:
  25. It's one of the Top 5 greatest Coldplay albums ever! :D
