2009 : Twenty-O-Nine In Review
D'oh, how could I have forgotten Doves? One of my favorite albums of the decade, much less 2009. Doves - Kingdom of Rust [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i92wtrH91kE]YouTube- Doves - House of mirrors [Kingdom of rust][/ame]

Spanish Rain?!
Simple name change to the song is what we're thinking, since "Spanish Rain" is in the lyrics.

Spanish Rain?!
Yeah, great song, but didn't the band say they wouldn't be debuting any of the new album songs on the LA tour? So I'd say the odds of it being tour-exclusive are pretty good, even though I'd love to see a studio version someday even as a B-side or promo.

"Shutter Island" - WTF did Scorsese do there??
Just got back from seeing it. Some parts left me confused (the ending sequence), some parts were very well-thought-out (the anagrams), and some parts were a little predictable (#67). All in all, I thought it was a decent movie but an average Scorsese effort. I thought the acting was great but some of the artistic moments felt a bit sloppy. So I didn't hate it by any stretch of imagination, but it's probably not gonna be one of my top movies of the year. So yeah. I'm the dude in the middle. 3/5 stars. :dozey: I really have an itch to watch The Departed now, though, which I've only seen bits and pieces of before.

26-Feb-2010: River Plate Stadium, Buenos Aires, Argentina - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews/Phot
It's a shame I'll be missing the tweets...have to go see Shutter Island with my class in an hour. Hope everyone there has a fantastic time and hopefully I can come back to some exciting news! :D

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Meh, I've seen rock stars do way worse. As long as it's not an addiction (and it doesn't seem like it is), I don't really care.

Christmas release is back on! Brian Eno talks to BBC6 Music (of all sources) about Coldplay recordin
Oh dear. I certainly hope dreams don't come true. :P Pink is right about the EMI situation, however. Regardless of whatever the band's agenda is, they ultimately do not have the final say regarding the release date as long as they're under that label.

2009 : Twenty-O-Nine In Review
Was this one just too obvious for people to mention? Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rbGj4_qYgI]YouTube- Phoenix - 1901[/ame] 2009 got me in a great indie mood, introducing me to Bat for Lashes, Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors, among others. Great efforts here by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Mew, Metric, and Regina Spektor. Disappointments include (*prepares for hate*) Arctic Monkeys, Editors, and Franz Ferdinand. Thanks to everyone who has put together these wonderful topics. :D

"Shutter Island" - WTF did Scorsese do there??
Hmm, yeah, from what I've seen, it's receiving at least moderate praise from most sources. I've seen a few negative reviews but they're a minority. Either way, I have no choice but to see it as part of a class assignment this weekend, so I'll be able to judge for myself then. Who knows, I could end up completely hating it. :P

2008 in Review!!!!
Oh, hardly anything actually. I was simply stating how it wasn't my Album of the Year. :P But it's not an album I can repeatedly cycle through and never get sick of it, unlike Elbow. Basically, I go through phases with Fleet Foxes, mainly when I'm in the mood for homework background music.

2008 in Review!!!!
Agreed, although it still has a few standout tracks that make it better than say...the Bloc Party album (which some love but I absolutely despise, and the remixed version is even worse). Anyway, 2008 is one of my favorite years of the decade for music, and possibly my favorite overall. My favorite of this year has to be "The Seldom Seen Kid" by Elbow (not a bad track on the entire thing and could listen to it over and over). Fleet Foxes and Vampire Weekend are also wonderful, even if they aren't "Album of the Year" material in my book. And of course, there's the great mainstream efforts that don't need mentioning by this point (Coldplay, etc.). Great lists everyone!

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
The original Life in Technicolor. I'm not in a lyrical mood today. :dozey:

I offically cannot dislike, hate, or ever have a bad feeling towards Coldplay
Tails isn't that ancient. I'm pretty sure they still make games with him. Now that this topic is suddenly about Tails, I think I like this topic a lot better now! :P

The Postal Service
Funnily enough, that song just came up on shuffle in my car about an hour ago.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Holy crap, I just met someone in class whose binder was decked out in Coldplay butterflies! And apparently she went to the exact same concerts I went to! :D Too bad lecture cut our conversation short...

BBC6 Music: EMI says Coldplay 2010 album release is UNTRUE
True, true. According to him, the band stinks. Although also according to him, we ARE still the best fans in the world. What am I supposed to believe from this crazed man? :inquisitive:

2007: A Year In Music
I honestly had difficulty getting into Radiohead prior to "In Rainbows", which was finally the clincher for my enjoyment of them. Even after discovering the rest of their back catalog, "In Rainbows" is still my favorite. (I love how you're so passionate for the album that you put up every single track, including Disc 2 :P) "Neon Bible" isn't quite "Funeral" in my book, but it's still able to be one of my favorite albums of 2007. A few other favorites: Yeasayer - All Hour Cymbals [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwUctgGIZJQ]YouTube- Yeasayer - Sunrise[/ame] One of the great debut albums of the decade. Travis - The Boy With No Name [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxwIr3LiXCo]YouTube- TRAVIS - Battleships[/ame] Still my favorite Travis album since "The Man Who". Interpol - Our Love to Admire [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6oIzvholME]YouTube- Interpol "No I In Threesome"[/ame] Their weakest album but has a few gems on it.
