  1. I like Jay-Z a lot. One of the few rap artists that I dig.
  2. It's hard for me to say because I've seen Coldplay a bunch of times and Muse only once. I also am a much bigger Coldplay fan. There is something about Coldplay live that I love. They have the same "feel goodness" that I experience when I see U2. Coldplay has so many surreal moments. Like on the Twisted Logic Tour, I love the light bulb prop on Fix You. It starts out so somber and then when the drums hit and Chris throws the light bulb into the audience...cool stuff.
  3. +1 There is a cool free video on iTunes. Haven't watched it all the way through, but it looks promising.
  4. ^ Very exciting news!
  5. I have had the Beatles on my iTunes for years. I just imported the CDs. So this really is no great shakes for me unless they come out with some cool iTUnes exclusives.
  6. I just bought the Beats by Dre Studio headphones. These things are sweet. They hit so hard. I'm going to be deaf in a week.
  7. I haven't listened to much of his post Bush stuff and don't really care to do so. I did like him in his Bush days. So long as you don't hold him to a high standard, you won't be disappointed. Bush was another post-alternative band that took the sound of bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. and made it more radio friendly. I think it sounds good, and I like a lot of post alternative bands. They just aren't that innovative.
  8. I've always like Bon Jovi. They play fun music.

Yeah, I believe they were filming it while in Los Angeles. The show I went to in Pomona also had cameras. The guy at the merch booth told me that it was to cover any mistakes from the Los Angeles show. I don't know how true that is. Also, I purchased a DVD signed by Jonsi and Dean DeBlois. The guy at the merch booth told me that Dean was in town to help with the filming. Edit: hmm...I guess not. I just read the details of your post. Maybe it was strictly the webcast.
  10. In no particular order: U2 Green Day Pearl Jam Red Hot Chili Peppers Kings of Leon Jimmy Eat World The Killers Arcade Fire Stone Temple Pilots Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Incubus The Strokes AFI Social Distortion Coldplay Dave Matthews Band I know that's more than 10, but I've seen a ton of shows. Just brainstorming, these come to the top of my mind. However, if I had to think to hard, it probably didn't leave much of an impression, right? There are some very big bands that I've left off this list. Not because they were bad; they just didn't leave a dynamite impression.
  11. Yeah, the lyrics to Sk8er Boi were regrettable. I can't believe I know that song. She does get some radio airplay; I will give her credit for that.
  12. :laugh3: How would you feel if the Jonas Brothers became the next Radiohead? I'm reminded of a quote by the great sports radio host, Jim Rome: "If my aunt had a set of nuts, she'd be my uncle." The question acts as if the distinguishing feature is a minor one. Yeah, if Avril could achieve everything that Madonna and/or U2 accomplished, I wouldn't have a problem giving her respect. But the odds of that happening are close to nil.
  13. No Code was a complete departure in style for Pearl Jam, and it marks a point in time where fans either left or stayed with the band. It was also Jack Irons first album with PJ.
  14. ^ By all accounts I read, Zeppelin was great. Plant's voice can't hit the notes he used to, but they just dropped the songs down a bit, and he sounded fine.
  15. There are not many on this board, but Pearl Jam has a huge following. This is a Coldplay board - most people here prefer U.K. bands.
  16. Anthony has always been the most musically insignificant member of that group IMO. Ill give him credit for his vocal style being unique, but that's all. Chad Smith is a hell of a drummer too.
  17. Kings of Leon - Come Around Sundown
  18. Man, I am missing out on the book release and signing tomorrow. Those idiots scheduled it at noon on a Thursday, which prevents anyone with a job or life from attending. Also, you had to pick up wristbands today, and that essentially makes it a two day commitment. I still want to get the book though.
  19. Great band. Great song. Great performance. Great festival. Great crowd. Not much to dislike on this one.
  20. ^ I'm a fan of girl bands, however, it's never for the music. The videos are cool though
  21. ^ I hear you. I am excited too. I just don't know what to add. Unfortunately, it will get here in it's own due time. Until then, I just keep waiting. I have no idea what to expect in terms of content or timing.
  22. Can someone please tell me why this band is so popular? I mean that honestly. I have never heard of them, and when I look on YouTube, they look like the Backstreet Boys. I'm not judging because I'm not equipped to do so. I am more curious about the appeal. The music wasn't to my taste when I listened, but a lot of people must like this group because that's a freaking load of tickets they sold.
  23. Me too. I don't know what else I can really say.
  24. Not really. When I go to a concert, I will stand and am mostly quiet except for applause. It would be boring if it was a concert full of people like me. I really try to take in the entire experience and give an accurate account of what I've seen. Therefore, I count on other people to act like freaks and give the band the energy they deserve.
  25. No, I've always had a short attention span :)
