  1. I don't dislike any of them, but I think X&Y was a bit too hectic for my liking, it's like the tracks were just thrown in but the songs are just brilliant. I think the best is either AROBTH for the musicality and MX for the production.
  2. I love it. I don't mind that it sounds like a hip hip (taboo!!!) drumbeat, but I think the drums are just fabulous, I mean the end when the reverb is just cranked. The only thing I don't like about this song is the thing they did with the vocals, I mean it sounds too cut off, the vox should sound more soulful and laid back
  3. Eurgh, I hate the phrase "over produced" or "over producing". I personally don't believe in it, I think they produced the album to the extent that they wanted and that they thought sounded good and that's what most people like to do. If you "over produce" something you spend months on top of months producing something, turning the song into something completely different, messing up the original song and making it sound crappy (as I have done frequently in the past). It's not "over production" it's just very clean, refined, polished, different and detailed. I love what they've done on Hurts Like Heaven, there's a lot going on with his voice, at least 3-4 at the same time in the verse, clearly double tracked and something else cropping up now and again. I really like effected vocals too, (overdrive, chorus, echo etc) especially in Major Minus, it sounds brilliant, I prefer it to the live version honestly. I'm also favourable to clean vocals, like up with the birds, although they're very compressed especially from the very start, but it's nice. Honestly, we're witnessing production innovation (not quite as much as The Beatles), this album is not only musically different form everything else out now, but technically too, the sonic landscapes created are just fabulous, and I think it's fronted by the change in Chris's voice, it's fresh and different form what they've done before.
  4. I really quite like it, the beat's brilliant, I like the synths, Chris's vocal rhythm is funky as hell. I think we could have done without Rihanna doubling up the guitar riff during the refrains though and they could have sung together a hell load more in the chorus. Vocals are far too quiet as well, and there could have been a whole lot more from the other members, I get how they're sort of metaphorically standing aside for her but come on, it'd be better with a great chunky guitar line playing at the end and some more thumping bass.
  5. I had the album on my big stereo speakers when I listened to it the first time...holy crap, I did have a seizure when the song kicked in, it's just so energetic, much better than the live version in my opinion!
  6. Hurts like heaven just makes your adrenaline shoot sky high utterly fabulous, definitely my favourite.

How am I going to get one of these in one of my profile pictures? I'm a complete photo editing novice!
  8. That's a really good find there! Never noticed that until now, the whole lyrical and melody theme is kind of reprised throughout every song...yet they all sound so different, that's very very clever!
  9. The only time I've been a bit choked up in a song is Belle and Sebastian's "The Ghost Of Rockschool" that bit at the end when everything comes in, the melody is just heavenly. The only song on MX I got a similar reaction to was the outro to Charlie Brown, the fact that it took the piano a little longer to come in really struck me.
  10. It ain't Myyylloo Xyyyllooottoo. It's a pre-echo of "So cold so cold". I really wanted it to be that though, it'd be awesome!
  11. The song U.F.O is the giveaway title really, it'll be a compilation of all the people they kidnapped's screams and cries for help while Chris Martin laughs at them and probes them...
  12. There is no video. The whole album's really a conspiracy theory, everyone who's ordered it will be abducted and will never see planet earth again, will try to escape and will be vaporised by one of the band members. I'm warning you all now while it's not too late.
  13. I don't think it'll leak too soon. You know why? They only leak after there are previews of the songs up, which means the files are out in the internet. Hackers can get access to them once they're up and hey presto, you have a leak. If there's no preview, there's no leak, unless there's the thing with people stealing them off the line, but they won't be completely pressed and out there until about thursday or friday. So, assuming that it'll be available for download or preview before the shipments arrive to the warehouses, I think it'll leak once the files are up, look at Noel Gallagher's album...within hours of the files being up on amazon for preview the leak was up, then within hours of that, the tracks were streamed.
  14. Honestly, I don't mind a leak. I've got Bjiork's new album, has anybody heard it?? OH MY GOD IT'S AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!111!!11!!!!!!111111!!!!!1!!!!11!!!1!1!!111111111111111111111111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!111!!!!!! etc etc...(troll troll troll, hate hate hate)...
  15. Sorry, I was in a Trolling frame of mind, it's over now...
  16. Ok guys, LEAK!!! Of course not the album...but me...I leaked...
  17. Yeah, I wouldn't expect them to release a mayo, it seems too...modest. Yeah they could have pulled it off before 2005, but now, I'd expect more something along the lines of a hot curry...The Every Fork Is A Mouthful Korma range from Coldplay...I can see it now!
  18. You know it's really not that unlikely, i mean look at Graham Coxon's cheese, Elbow's Beer, AC/DC's Wine...y'know? I think if anyone was to join the musician-food bandwagon it'd be coldplay, as they'd make millions! (no exaggeration there).
  19. No way, I don't believe it for a second. The guy who says he has a link should prove it somehow...I don't know how, but somehow!
  20. That's true...but you just never know. I'm not totally counting on that, and I'm not totally fussed about a leak, I've got it pre-ordered on vinyl, and you get an instant mp3 download on the day, so it's all good!
  21. Look at it this way...Amazon put up the previews for Noel Gallagher's album today, and hey ho, it leaked today...Not saying it'll be the same, but just consider it, just be ready for a leak when the tracks are available for preview.
  22. swallow turtleneck sweater
  23. Wow, the album's sounding a whole lot better right now!
  24. I'm looking forward to both studio versions and the collab, but I can't choose both!
