  1. Many things. ? :| I never said anything about who you are. Except you weren't currently huggable. You could be a really great person and I probably wouldn't know. I appreciate it. A nice day to you as well.
  2. Sorry. Gosh. And you certainly do not sound huggable. How does someone delete their profile btw?
  3. Really? I mean idk. I think that. They're not necessarily going along with other bands. I don't think there are any musicians that sound like them right now to be honest. I think they're separating themselves from their legion of imitators. A lot of bands have started to sound like them in ways. The Fray, OneRepublic, Keane, and a bunch of others. Pretty good bands I think but all the same. It's like their progressing past the path other bands have taken in clinging to the older Coldplay sound and braving a new direction. And as far as I'm concerned, they were a lot more fame-y and flashy during X&Y than they are now. They said it themselves, they weren't making the music THEY wanted. Now they finally are. Maybe. If that's how you feel. I'm glad honestly- they're distancing themselves from some of their comparisons. They sound nothing like Radiohead as far as I'm concerned, like they did in the first two albums. And yes I'm comparing them now too. :P But only to make a necessary point.
  4. No. Not about nothing. About so many people being negative about it. It's as if they can't be pleased at all. If this is a Coldplay fansite why is everyone complaining about them? Why do they have to bring everyone else down? True. It just gets annoying seeing Coldplay is U2. Coldplay is U2. Coldplay is U2. Coldplay is Radiohead. Coldplay is Radiohead. Coldplay is Radiohead. Just a bit. And I mean they're working with Brian Eno for Gosh sake. What else do you expect? Is that really needed to be pointed out? As if anyone here doesn't know he worked with U2 and basically shaped their sound sonic-wise In my opinion there is. And if you're picky about everything how can you ever be satisfied with it? People find something to complain about in absolutely everything and can't just be damn happy for once. Is appreciation non-existent these days? ETIAW is dreadful, it's so out there. Nothing like their older stuff. MM sucks because they're doing something different. I wish people weren't so against change and for stagnation. It's like listening to conservative political ideology. :shifty: In order to get as good as them in the first place, then go beyond that. No one can play music without having heard it anywhere else at all. Everyone's heard music and you can't help but be influenced by something, whatever it is. If you weren't influenced by people, you wouldn't be able to play the instruments at all in the first place. When people are comparing them all the time it insinuates as if they don't have any original thoughts of their own. They're not some band who just rips everyone off like people/other artists seem to think. "They stole this song from me", "I hear this and I know that's really mine", "they sound so much like this band it's insane", "Hear that shimmery guitar? That's U2-ish." "Hear that falsetto vocal? That's Radiohead-esque." As if U2 and Radiohead were even the first/only bands to do that anyway. How about "They're an inspirational and talented band who deserves accolades for 13 years of terrific music and they've really made a positive impact on my life." Is that so much to ask? Is it so HARD to be positive?
  5. Agreed x 745. Very cohesive analysis and rhetoric!
  6. :P lol Wow. Not funny. This is serious! I like your polysaccaride like pic though. That's not the name for it but yeah. :P Very reminiscent of chemistry last year.
  7. I think I DON'T CARE WHO IT SOUNDS LIKE. Everyone borrows music references from everyone else. This isn't exactly something NEW people. U2 borrowed from others and so did Radiohead after them- it's no big deal! THEY didn't write this song. COLDPLAY did. And it's an incredible song I don't care what anyone says. Can we stop nitpicking at everything please? Give them a break for once. They're the best band in the world. They're doing everything they can. We should just be glad they're still together with all the times they've been on the verge of breaking up. They're four great men who written an amazing tune and don't need comparisons to other bands before them. They're not just descendants of great musical styles. They're greater than the sum of their parts and better than any band they borrow from or who you keep comparing them to. Love the song or hate the song. Credit them for their work and on their merits. Just stop comparing them 24/7. Next thing everyone's going to say they stole that flake Satriani's music again. Will someone just give them some damn credit for once? Gosh. :P
  8. Their whole reason for making music is making what THEY want. Not what WE want. I really think this song is great. It's different. It's not Parachutes or A Rush of Blood all over again. And frankly I'm glad because that would be really boring and repetitive and I hate it when bands never change their sound and essentially make the same album 7 times over. Like Creed or AC/DC. People are just closed-minded to change it seems. Then again, that explains why anyone sane would vote for the GOP... But seriously guys c'mon. They can't just keep making the same music. That would get old fast. They're not the same people they were 10 or 5 years ago. They don't listen to only the same music they used to. And they don't have the same ideas they did then. They're broadening their horizons which is a great thing.
  9. Little taken aback as to why they altered his voice ?? But it could be worse I suppose. I absolutely loveeeeeee the bass parts!!! And the guitar part sounds even better than live! [: Great song.
  10. Good point. That can't be fun. :( Sorry.
  11. I don't think that's the title, unfortunately. I think it would be a great one though!! There's a strong theme of alien-ation (get it?) and isolation present in that title. With the way people talk about Coldplay here in country-music-central NY, I sometimes find myself wanting to move to Mars. :/ I'd love an album cover with an HD picture of Mars from like Hubble with a stunning spacecraft approaching it with photon beams and blue afterburners. :D I'm just a dreamer though.
  12. Ohh. I have all three of those songs. But I don't listen to them often. Especially Sparks. Daylight has a great melody but I can barely hear what he's saying. Good to know though regardless. I though this "hearts" thing in every song was something really new. (: Thank you. I wonder why they still aren't letting you pre-order it here. :| Sorry. :P I don't know, it just never really did anything for me. If we were talking about, say, Spies or Everything's Not Lost, that'd be different :D
  13. Ah true! My bad. I just couldn't think of any at the time. "Your heavy heart is made of stone" That's the only one of these i recognize though. A Message. :] idk the rest? Maybe b-sides or among the few album songs by them I don't listen to.
  14. I really love these lyrics!! Though I love all astronomy related things so I'm probably a bit biased. (; They're amazing though. I really like the part "We might never meet again- you and me, we are meeting for the first time, can't you see? Seven, six, five, four, three, we are meeting for the first time." :DD i'm not sure why they keep giving us the lyrics before the music though. I mean I'm all good with it. [: But sometimes that's not always the best idea because sometimes the lyrics aren't among their best like with ETIAW. And I also noticed they've used the word heart in every single one of the new songs. Ye they never said that word even once in any of the older songs. I just think that's a weird thing of note. :) This song is going to rock socksssss! :D
  15. Collin's a great bassist! :] Radiohead as a whole are an incredible band and would be my favorite were it not for Coldplay being the best everrr!! Not completely thrilled with the King of Limbs though. I love the title and artwork but i found it disappointing compared to their other efforts. Loops, loops, and more *loops*. :S
  16. Oh dude. I never realized what it actually was!! THAT'S SO COOL!!! :DDD I love it regardless. That's why it's my pic.
  17. I JUST saw the announcement with a link to Coldplay's Facebook page. And as soon as I read the Acronym (MTM) I felt my peel off. Plus! I love astronomy themed music. It doesn't get much better than that!!! :D I could definitely see it being about alienation in a way though. But it reminds me of how they said that planetary model was inspiring them in the stuido!! :]]]
  18. Back at you man!! Completely! He is a BEAST and DOMINATES those drums. :] But not even just that he knows so many more instruments he is so freakin talented it's crazy! Incredible voice. Incredible musician. Try beating that. Oh, right. Not possibleeee!
  19. Thisthisthis. Those are all great songs actually. But I think more diversified lyrics would definitely help. Hurts Like Heaven- Sweetness. No changes. Charlie Brown- Epic. Singing a bit clearer. Us Against the World. Amazing. A little more of Will's voice on it. Chris' seems to stand out uncannily above his for some reason? Every Teardrop is a Waterfall- Less 'Drowning synthesizer wall'. I think it's a pretty good song but like. I wish they would play the synth like an instrument, like a piano like they do on HLH. Not conjure up a wall of noise that drowns out Jonny's epic guitar playing and Guy's, as one Coldplay put it, "Face-melting bass line". I can barely hear it and it's so good too. :/
  20. That's awful!! I'm sorry dear. :((( Feel better.
  21. Yesyesyesyes to this! Will is a fantastic singer and I'm quite surprised he hasn't had any prominent role in singing besides Death Will Never Conquer. Which he is absolutely amazing on!!
  22. This is really awesome. :] I really like the connections you made and everything. That'd be incredible if this is trueee!
  23. You can channel your anger into others and be free of it. No lie! :D And not by doing anything back to them either. If you're both mutually upset at someone, let them rattle on about how much they don't like them and suppress your feelings. It's almost like They're a black hole and your their binary star companion. All the gas they're sucking from you is your frustration and once it's all sucked in it's gone. [: Weird. But true story.
  24. I stole a key, And took a car downtown where the lost boys meet I took a car downtown and took what they offered me To set me free I saw the lights go down at the end of the scene, I saw the lights go down and standing in front of me My scarecrow dreams, When they smash my heart into smithereens, I'll be a bright red rose combusting the concrete Be a cartoon heart Light a fire, by a spark Light a fire, a flame in my heart We'll run, wired We'll be glowing in the dark We'll be glowing in the dark All the boys, all the girls, All the madness in the world All the boys, all the girls, All the madness that occurs All the highs, all the lows As the room is spinning, oh They'll run, wired And start glowing in the dark So we saw, as innocent- wired We'll be glowing in the dark it might seem strange/far-fetched/ridiculous but 1. It's what I hear when I listen to it. Every single time. 2. It makes sense to me. They run wired as in a) they're drunk/. Goes along with "I took what they offered me, to set me free". b) they're wired by the media. Attached by a cord if you will. Alcohol frees you of inhibitions to an extent. I've never drank but it also gives you a feeling of inebriation and a sensation like you're warmer than you actually are (if I'm not mistaken). So maybe that's the sensation they get because they feel hot- as if they were glowing in the dark. It seems that they're writing about a youth culture of the 60's and 70's to an extent and this would partially make sense to me, anyway. Not exactly Coldplay-like but still. I don't think they're always going to write the same songs over and over again- this would be different. Wired in this sense could also mean like they're essentially just lights of the media, plugged in to a socket and used/ told to believe everything and controlled by a society of idiocracy and non-sense. They're strung on a cord and showing off the media's brilliance' (stupidity). If they were just another pair of lights used by the media, that would explain why they're "glowing in the dark". I think it would be a good metaphor, though I'm apt to be wrong. Then again I could also see what someone suggested earlier in the threat as well "we'll run riot." It makes sense with the whole anti-media thing but it kinda reminds me too much of Viva. I think it could be right though- like they're glowing in the dark with fires and torches. I do love this song though either way. I hope it ends up as a singleee!
  25. Just my opinion here. Coupled with 2-3 hours of candidate research. Republican Candidates Michelle Bachmann. (-) Founded the Tea Party Caucus in the House and supports the Tea Party movement. That alone should make her ineligible to run in the first place. :P Herman Cain. (-) Defeated Clinton's health bill in the mid 1990's. He's anti-social security and supports decreasing corporate tax rates, because the rich aren't rich enough as it is. Opposes universal healthcare, anti-gay marriage, supported the Iraq war, wouldn't admit a Muslim to his cabinet (???). Helllll no to him. Newt Gingrich. (-) Opposes stopping corps. from basically buying elections, multiple drug offender should be put to death (are you serious?), supports school prayer and turning schools into highly-competitive organizations, opposes universal healthcare although he's also the first one with pros. (+)Supports space exploration and preserving forest lands. Finally a Republican candidate with a little sense. Gary Johnson (-) Wants to slash gov. spending, supports low taxes, wants to cut Medicare and Medicaid by 43% (oh my word hell noooo!), called "The original Tea Party Candidate" for his stance on taxes, though he is not a member. (+) Opposed Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Fred Karger (+) supports gay marriage and rights. Apparently the first openly gay candidate to run for president from one of the two major parties. Unfortunately not much about his other positions at all. Andy Martin (-) Spread the false rumors that President Obama was a Muslim, was not born in the U.S., insisted he knew where Bin Laden was back in 2003, accused President Bush of using cocaine, was quoted as saying "I am able to understand how the Holocaust took place, and with every passing day feel less and less sorry that it did.","Jew survivors are operating as a wolf pack to steal my property." and called his '86 Senate Campaign "The Anthony R. Martin-Trigona Congressional Campaign to Exterminate Jew Power in America", so anti-semitic as well. What a nut. Jimmy McMillan (-) Does not believe Global Warming is man-made, was against the bail out, supports low taxes, supports combination of government with Christianity (helllll no, this is no fascist nation, thanks anyway!). (+) Against adjustable rent, against cutting aid to education and elderly. Rob Paul (-) Opposes immigration, supports smaller gov., champions low taxes, supports school prayer, avidly for gun rights, against federal environmental protection, treats the nation like 50 individual states rather than one country. What is that? Seriously. (+) Does not support reintroducing the draft, favors gay marriage, is pro-life, supports stem-cell research, favors drug legalization (I never used but I think they should be). Tim Pawlenty Little info to analyze Mitt Romney (-) Supports, death penalty, advocates highly competitive schools , for firearm rights, strongly against medical marijuana use at all, does not support stem cell research, against unions, opposes unemployment benefits, for low taxes. (+) Pro-life except in rape cases, against school prayer, strongly against global warming and emissions, pro-equality for women and minorities in the work place, for universal healthcare. Rick Santorum (-) Anti-immigration, sought to replace science teachings in school with religious ones, against ga rights and marriage, supported Iraq war. Jonathon Sharkey (-) wanted to impale President Bush, called him (a strong right if I'm not mistaken) a communist, and thinks he is a vampire. Analysis over. If I had to choose, and I'm definitely not a Republican if you can't tell, Romney is my man with Paul second. I'd definitely like to see President Obama re-elected. Actually, if I had my way, I would love to see a socialist candidate elected. Not that that'll happen. But it strikes me funny how socialism is as far left as libertarianism is far right, and yet it gets essentially no support on the national level whatsoever. That is completely ridiculous. And what I find funny about the Republican agenda is how they're so for capitalisim and yet also for strict Constitutional interpretation. Really. Well where in the Const. does it say anything about the U.S. being a capitalist nation? OH RIGHT. IT DOESN'T. All I see is "Of, by, and for the people" and "Provide by the general welfare". That sounds a lot more like socialism then the atrocious, capitalistic agenda where the very top 1% make more than the bottom 95% combines. Completely ridiculous and just plain wrong. :P
