  1. I would love if they did. Prospekt's March is one of the best albums. :) MX --> MX ii?! That would be amazing. And all these other rumoured songs would be nice - Golden Arrow, Car Kids, Great Expectations, Tomorrow, Under One Roof (or whatever that was we saw on the graffiti), Alien Radio, Moving to Mars...not to mention the oodles of unreleased songs that might not be as bad as Chris made them out to be.
  2. True. I loved it after listening to Live 2003 (which was before my Coldplaying days). But I actually totally agree...it would make a great main-set closer. It hasn't quite got the crowd-friendly oomph of Fix You, ETIAW, or (hopefully) DLIBYH...but it's still one of the most powerful songs Coldplay has. :)
  3. For all members in the set {tear, drop}, tear*drop = waterfall
  4. This. :) How about... Was a long and dark December, From the classrooms I remember, There were grades, bad grades. Clearly I remember, All the teachers they were watching, While we failed all those tests. <(^__^<) Nah but for a yearbook quote...you could do well with: -UATW...[if we could float away, or "through chaos as it swirls"] -Speed of Sound [the line about inventors] -Clocks [Am I a part of the cure..] -Politik...all of it, basically. -We Never Change (to be a bit pessimistic about it :p) -AROBTTH - just don't let anyone think it's a bomb threat.
  5. It's kind of idiomatic....to expect the world is to expect that great things will happen to you.

Wow LTTSALOM is a great song. :) Something I've always enjoyed about Noel/Oasis (and Coldplay for that matter) is that his lyrics have a lot of Christian overtones and references. Yet, his main identity is of rock, and then there's a kind of searching for God/faith. As opposed to Christian rock which is just seems more forced - Christians trying to use rock as a tool to preach [that's a bit overly cynical of me to say, but that's how I see it sometimes]. On the other hand, you can see a progression - from the helpless search for God in a song like Falling Down to....whatever If I Have a Gun is about, but the songs from the new album seem to suggest Noel has found a bit more spirituality.
  7. Satie's Gnossiene No.1. :)
  8. Is Amsterdam really a fan favourite? I thought it was one of those songs only us CPers liked or even knew about.

Oh, and does anyone know if buying HFB in CD format off Amazon still gives you the MP3 alongside as it does when ordering from the official site?
  10. It seems like the ratio of fast loud songs may be a little shifted, so I'd argue we DON'T need "the rocky side of Coldplay", even though you named some of my favourite songs. I'd most like to hear: Spies, Amsterdam, AROBTTH, Green Eyes (before UATW, perhaps), Warning Sign, Swallowed in the Sea, Strawberry Swing, Lovers in Japan, DAAHF...

Yeah! If Sparks was faster, you'd probably get this. But that description doesn't do justice. Alone on the Rope is AMAZING. Is this supposed to be another single or a B-side?
  12. Very interesting that they could've played Shiver acoustic...I love that version. Not as much as UATW though, but it would've been interesting to see. :( And the clapping on UATW sounds hilarious because, as expected in a massive venue like this, it's just atrociously off-beat. Not that it's anyone's fault, but it sounds funny anyways because there's a distinct clapping "wave" to each beat in the first verse. All in all though, I thought Oasis's 2009 Rock in Rio gig would never be topped in terms of audience energy, but this just blew me away. Paradise was phenomenal because its live version is great to begin with, but the crowd really took it to the next level. :D No that's been Will the whole time. He also sings a wicked backup during the "Maybe I'm in the black" verse. :D
  13. I loved Charlie Brown on first listen but now I'm really deeply in love with the song. It's just so happy...and not in the same way as ETIAW. I really enjoy that the band makes this song such a wonderful live experience and future-hit without resorting to cheaper tactics (see: In My Place, VLV, Paradise).
  14. No it's actually an Eb, at least in the live version. Yay for having this completely divergent conversation.
  15. It's, "My drunken head's a Daniel in a lion's den." as I hear it. The "roses" line I know what you're looking for, but I don't think the way you have it is right grammatically.
  16. Yeah but there are four songs in a row in the same key. At that point it stops being a coincidence.
  17. This. It stops at UATW, which is in the key of C. I think it'll turn out really well, the beginning half of the album. :) Bb and G minor are called "relative" keys because the notes that are in a Bb are the same as the ones in G minor. The other answers in this thread are pretty solid though.

A little bit trippy, a little bit cheesy. I don't like the video as much as most Coldplay music videos, but I liked it anyways. "Let me sail you to the moon" as they jump into the pool is a very powerful moment. :) And I like the story that is possibly being woven here. It'll be a nice concept-ish album companion to MX, maybe.
  19. Aside from MX, I'm hoping the second placers will be Noel Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys, Snow Patrol, and Radiohead. A lot of people seem to hate TKOL though. :(
  20. Parachutes: 8 AROBTTH: 9 X&Y: 8.5 VLV: 9.5 MX: 9.5-10
  21. I forgot if it was being discussed in this thread...but I think United States of Eurasia is a brilliant song. Nothing like Muse or anyone else has done it feels like. "Bohemian Rhapsody but just a little bit better," Chris Martin once said about I think it was VLV that they were performing...random...sorry...I think it was the BBC1 gig from 2008. :lol:But yeah, anyone else love that song? :speechless: AMAZING. Duke University. :)
