Ok after a few listens to every song, my opinions haven't changed much, except for Ink. True Love started out amazing, but now as I listen more closely I'm losing just a tiny bit of love for it. Still great songs and a great album tho. 1. O - Classic piano and soulful, heartfelt singing on Chris's part. I really felt Chris's sadness when Zane Lowe played this track. One of their best songs ever IMO. 2. Always In My Head - From the first sounds of the intro, you can tell this is classic Coldplay, combining Parachutes and Viva techniques. 3. Midnight - Although repetitive in its own right, it's got an atmosphere that quickly takes over the listener. Can't stop playing this. 4. Ink - First time listening didn't bode well, but it's been growing on me pretty quickly. It's a cute and catchy track and has hints of Viva instrumentation. 5. Another's Arms - Surprised me because I didn't like the live version much, but lyrics don't seem to hinder the beauty of the instrumentation on this track. 6. True Love - Still adapting to Jonny's atonal solo, and although a great chord progression, could use a bit of variety in use of volume and instrumentation. It's a bit repetitive although ethereal all the same. 7. Magic - Chill song, just not the best on the album. 8. A Sky Full Of Stars - A great track, but a bit out of place on this type of album. Kind of repetitive and a bit too poppy, but it's a nice happy song. 9. Oceans - Live version was so heartfelt, but I'm just not feeling the studio version.

Has anybody noticed that the 3 chord progression of vi, I, IV is repeated in a few parts of the album? Specifically in O (not Fly On), the bass plays that progression, and in Midnight's climax and ASFOS climax that chord progression is repeated.

If you listen to the entire interview you can hear the part of O which is his daughter's singing and the ambient sounds. They sound heavenly, and I think you'll love it. I've already heard it, albeit a very short and low volume clip of it, but it also sounded amazing. It's basically the beginning synth sounds in AIMH just extended. I think I'm gonna love GS as much as VLVODAAHF because of the way it starts and begins with the same piece of music. And the fact that his daughter sang it made it even more meaningful.

Ok on to the other side of the bracket! Some more tough matches.... I think this song could use a little less synths, but they are helpful to build up to the foot-stomping climax of the song. I am in love with the beginning piano (classic Coldplay combined with modern pop a la We Found Love) and the end guitar (a la Where The Streets Have No Name by U2, one of my all-time favorite songs), but the middle could use a bit less synths, a few more instrument complexities, and maybe a more complex beat ( I feel Will could do something incredible with this beat ) .

Holy shit this album has me hooked. The ambient noises, and both O and Fly On are just overwhelming. Such emotion in 42 minutes, and I don't think I will stop playing this record for a long time.
