LP5 going to be awesome or epic?
I don't think any of the other songs we've heard so far have sounded anything like ETiaW. . . Us Against The World - simple, acoustic, wouldn't have been out of place on Parachutes Major Minus - A Rush Of Blood To The Head comes to mind ;) Charlie Brown - X&Y-type riffs, also reminds me of Yellow Princess Of China - sounds like the long-lost sister of Viva La Vida (and would've been great on VLVoDAAHF) Mx/Hurts Like Heaven - also could've worked quite well on VLV I don't think you'll be disappointed with LP5 ;) :)

Lyrics
Could be . . . I think there's a lot of possibilities for some of these lines, and the only way we'll be able to find them out for sure is either asking the Oracle (if she doesn't give one of her cryptic answers again, that is :P ) or waiting for the album

Same here :)

Major Minus
Yeah! There's really no way to describe how it sounds . . . but it's awesome! Jonny Buckland > Chuck Norris

LP5 going to be awesome or epic?
I think epic would describe Viva and maybe a few songs off A Rush Of Blood (Politik and Clocks) So, unless LP5 sounds like either of those albums, I'm going with awesome ^^

Cool, have fun, then! Hopefully I'll manage to get up front someday (although it would help if I actually went to a concert first :P )

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
ColdplayingfromKansas replied to Josh42's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)He's obviously playing the world's smallest violin!

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
ColdplayingfromKansas replied to Josh42's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)Although you can't really expect him to say anything too terribly bad about it--he does work for Coldplay, after all. He definitely could have worded that better, though. :dozey:

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
ColdplayingfromKansas replied to Josh42's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)It's obviously only stupid when it's used in I Go To Rio. When Coldplay uses it, though, it becomes an epic masterpiece :awesome: /sarcasm

Princess of China
I thought it said Tomorrow <3R :\ Anyone know what M Xylobrytes means? Google is showing me a bunch of Coldplay-related stuff :laugh3:

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
ColdplayingfromKansas replied to Josh42's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)Hear, hear! . . . does David Rossi even have a string part in ETiaW? Because I certainly can't hear any

Major Minus
That's what I'd like to know. Why did we all automatically assume that MM was actually UWtB? It doesn't mention anything like it in the lyrics . . . Maybe because UWtB was a title we already knew was a possibility for an LP5 song?

What should I do?
ColdplayingfromKansas replied to Jedi Leo's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)For me, live versions and studio versions always sound completely different. In the live versions, you can't hear all the little nuances that Coldplay casually slide into the songs in the studio, all of the tiny little electronic beats and quiet guitar runs that are oh-so-common in Coldplay's songs. In most live songs, Guy's bass is pretty much drowned out by Jonny and Will (mostly Jonny :P) So, for me at least, listening to the live versions of songs beforehand won't spoil the album for me. Although it does make me extremely impatient for LP5

Me too! Right at this moment, I would rather them play Princess of China than Clocks, just so I can get a high-quality version on my iPod :P

Do they care?
ColdplayingfromKansas replied to Tryptophan's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)This. For their huge, rock-star status, I think they do a very good job of staying in touch with their fans (just look at the Oracle and Roadie's blogs) and there's no doubt that they know ETiaW caused some disruption in their fanbase. Would they remove ETiaW from LP5 soley because of this? No, but it will most likely be taken into consideration. That's a great way to put it, NumbersGirl, ETiaW is just a hiccup on Coldplay's record. Nothing special about it, except that it's a great summer/festival song.

Princess of China
Well, it was probably one of the first songs they wrote after Viva was released because I can remember one of the guys mentioning it in the 60 Minutes interview they gave back in . . . 2008 or 2009
